  • Why in the world does to video only have two hundred thousand views?

  • 0:43-0:59 best part

  • 3:16

  • Barack Obama should use this as his victory speech when he beats Rick Santorum.

  • ..This speech did for me what CM Punk's speech on McMahon/HHH done for me, I hope now we can see the WWE return to the 18-30 era rather than the 4-16 era it is in now.

  • I liked Austin best as "The Ring Master." Here, he is a blasphemous, ranting King of the Ring, condemning the Snakester.

  • @Buckeyecat2002 You're an idiot

  • And a legend was born

  • "You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere! Talk about your psalms, talk about John 3:16... Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your ass!"

  • 3:16 dam

  • they should add the gospel of austin to the bible

  • He is the best ever...

  • You can thumb your little bible and say your prayers and it doesnt get you anywhere John 3:16.....AUSTIN 3:16 said I just whooped your ass!!!! hahahah that line of trash/talking shit from stone cold steve austin was the best part of the promo haha lol :D............I remember this cuz this was in one of my stone cold steve austin DVD movies it was the best DVD ever that I watch......Austin Stone cold steve austin is the 2nd bad ass wrestler in the whole wresling history, 1st is Undertaker

  • @TheRicanBoy The crowd popped huge for that even though he was a heel.

  • lol anything but humble

  • The birth of the Attitude Era.

  • 0:55

  • Stone Cold says this was all adlib. But WWE knew he was going to use the phrase "Austin 3:16" ahead of time. If you doubt it, watch the camera. It's on Jake Roberts hobbling up the aisle, all the way up until Austin makes that famous quote.

  • @dillydob1 whats the msg incident?

  • @boonecountyboy14 HHH, HBK, Nash and Hall hugging after a show in front of fans breaking Kayfabe

  • The Start of The Attitude Era. classic

  • @YnBeats11 Nah, this was a little blip on the radar. The Attitude Era didn't kick off for at least a good full year after this.

  • Tebow 3:16 says "I just win football games."

  • the new Stone COLD DVD is RAW!!!! wow

  • Cool!

  • Most influential promo in WWF history

  • 0:42 the time that started the most incredible line of the history of wrestling.

  • the first thing i want you to do, is to get that piece of crap out of my ring

  • greatest interview ever in the history of wrestling

  • i dont get 3:16 .. at all

  • @iii7uhhggyui john 3 16. is where jesus died for everyone.. possiibly where all christians go back to the most

  • "Austin 3:16 says i just whipped your ass!"

  • Vince Mcmahon is sat there thinkin CHA CHING!

  • if hhh was the rebel character, the wwf would have been humiliated and wcw would have mocked hhh and wwf.

In the parallel universe wcw would still be in the business battling the wwf.hhh would have been the shockmaster of the wwf (he would come off as a dire imitation of a wrestler)or john cena or brock lesnar(leaving so soon)

hhh doesn't look believable as a tough guy, he would have a hard time getting over with the fans and is quite dull in my opinion as a wrestler and as a speaker

  • @jukebox7946: HHH as KOTR in 1996 would have killed off the WWF. Bret was the ONLY guy who could have done the big double-turn with Austin. At the same time, Vince was freaking lucky that Bitchoff DIDN'T come through with the big money suggestion Bret had made, because if Bret had been the third man for the NWO at BATB 96 instead of Hogan, WWE would have DIED right there on the spot.

  • the defining moment........

  • Classic!!! Austin 3:16 > Hulkamania.. I wont even recognize the Cenation because they aren't worth the time

  • Watch Paul Heyman's shoot on SD! He wears a Stone Cold hat. It's not about the visuals but the ideas behind. CM Punk wants to facilitate change in the WWE, to make it fun in the way Stone Cold did. He'll never be Stone Cold and thats not what he wants. Kinda the same thing with Heyman, its about change. Why do you think Vince hasn't bought out TNA yet?

  • what does 3:16 meen?

  • @NoobOwnerX It's a play on bible verses.

  • CM Punk wishes he was Stone Cold, that's fairly obvious. Everyone got all excited a few months ago when WWE was interesting for half a second. I was at King Of The Ring in 96, WWE just doesn't compare to what it used to be.

  • @perkoff lol. actually, Cm Punk said that Stone Cold was his idol, tus why he wore that Stone Cold shirt during his promo

  • @Mr12danielj Bullshit, the reason he had a Stone Cold t-shirt on was because when he asked for another Nexus T-shirt they had none in his size so he went to his bag where he knew he had a stone cold t-shirt that fit!

  • @aaronmac2k7 still, CM Punk looked up to Stone Cold. why else would he have a stone cold shirt in his bag?

  • 1:30 you piss me off

  • 5:54 the attitude era

  • THE STONE COLD SAID SO!

  • The first thing i want to be done is to get that piece of crap out of my ring.

  • @SaintAndrewColeman I would argue that Scott Hall (Razor Ramon) was the one who redefined the good guy/bad guy role. He made it cool to be bad.

  • oh my god the stone cold era began there in the king of the ring 1996

  • @SaintAndrewColeman

The shoot MAY have been something like that if it had signaled what it suggested it MIGHT have, which was potentially the beginning of a new era & the end of this PG Cena crap but it doesn't appear they are doing that despite how much it should.

In any case, Punk is Punk, not Stone Cold. I make only comparisons because Stone Cold was a big inspiration to Punk. There's a little of Austin's personality in Punk's character, but he's not the same guy & doesn't need to be.

  • @StreetsOfSonic cm punk was wearing a steve austin shirt while he wasdoing the shoot that shows how much respect he has for austin

  • people say this was when Austin 3:16 began but i say that this was when WRESTLING began!

  • no, the bible is real, Jesus lives! Believe on Him and have everlasting life

  • A moment for the ages.

  • you can tell they fucked up with the music and with Vince trying to talk when Austin was in the middle of his promo

  • i love the pop when he says austin 3:16 says i just whiped your ass

  • "Austin 3:16 Says I Just Whiped Your Ass" Epic Shit!!!

  • @olskooldannib030 It's whooped, not whiped.

  • People say Punk's Shoot/Promo was nothing compared to this, regardless he had his KotR moment, his Austin 3:16 moment and that's what matters. Talent can still have that moment to captivate the crowd, that are not just WWE or wrestling centric.

  • 0:53 best line ever said in the WWF history

  • @xasthur502 well the tag championship have been stale for years! The last time it gave me goosbumes when we had the TWO MAN POWR TRIPE

  • I was 16 when scsa gave that speech ! I just can't understand how wwe came from this to John cena bad wrestling, mic skills, and cheesy catch phrases!!wrestling is really dying, isn't it ?

  • @722Salem i was 16 too when i saw this. this paved the way for an absolutely amazing era into the early 2000s. i have no idea what has happened to wrestling. Austin changed the face of everything. CM/HHH thing is good right now, and as much of a crowd pleasing dweeb Cena is, hes skilled at wrestling, but other than that, its pretty much garbage now. i mean look at the tag champions!!?? we've gone from Legion of Doom, to Air Boom. sad sad sad.

  • @722Salem Haha? John cena cheesy? Can you smell what the rock is cooking? What? What? Talk about cheesy.....Cena is a very very very good wrestler..you dont need to be able to have 600 different rest holds or jump off the rope to be a good wrestler, Cena can be annoying with his kiddy remarks but thats the character not the talent..Look at cena in his rapping days noone could touch him he was too good.

  • @notrollable ??? oh yeah man people love cena. i guess thats y u here boos and cena sucks chants every night. even in his rappin day he was a (and im gonna use a Y2J term) ass clown. cena is a good wrestler?! now i know austin didnt have alot or moves or the rock but in the attitude era they didnt really need to. it was all about havin charisma, doin a good promo, and havin the ability to control the crowd the way u want them to react. wwe wants people to like cena but only lil kids like him.

  • @notrollable and some adults who forgot what real wrestling and charisma is. cena can win al the titles he wants, he can get into the hall but no real fan will respect him.

  • @kasfami What constitutes a real wrestling fan? Why do you get to decide what a real wrestling fan is? Surely your a sports entertainment fan? not wrestling, Wrestling is Pureresu or Ring of Honor or the 70's NWA. Your a fool poser who thinks he knows about wrestling. Cena has tremendous talent but is being brought down by a horrible character.

  • @notrollable ok. first u got me on that. i am sports entertainment but thats all wrestling has been since the 80s. second, what r u gonna tell me next, cena is a hard worker that does anything to please his fans? cmon its obvious that most of the guys on the roster are like that. cena is no different. cena is suppose to be the good guy, the face of the company, but he gets booed out of every arena. so now i guess its just the older wwe fans thats wrong huh? because thats who boo him every night

  • i guess ur jus gonna come at me with some really old wrestling facts datings back to the 19th century just to show how much i know about the actually art of wrestling and try to make me look bad. that kind of stuff usually happens with people who are a real fan such as yourself of this or that and try to put other down others only because they've only seen wrestling since mid 80s-present and only see it for its sports entertainment side (which it been for 40 years). but hey i dont care call me a

  • posser. if thats how u view fans like me then thats fine. (:

  • @kasfami So thats your retort? You give up? Because im right? Or because you were too ignorant to realise you were acting like an idiot?

  • @notrollable oh no sir. i will admit that u were right that i like wrestling for its sports entertainment. my thing is you act like wwe superstars such as cena have wrestling talent in the ways of ric flair, macho man etc. what im trying to say is that the matches are not technical nor are they scientific match ups. they dont tell a story. all of cena's matches are the same. my other point is that wrestling has been sports entertainment for about 40 years now. its just one big soap opera with

  • violence but i mean that in a good way.

  • @kasfami, @notrollable: Austin was actually a great scientific wrestler but his injuries led him to adopt the brawling style.

ROH's crowds are filled with a bunch of self-satisfied "smart marks" who are more concerned with getting themselves over than responding to the fucking match in front of them.

I am 36 years old, I am college-educated, I have been a wrestling fan since 1985, my all-time favorite PPV is WrestleMania III, and I cheer for John Cena with no shame. So there!

  • @722Salem I was 21.

    Days, that is D:

  • this changed the wwf

  • @caramico71 - The beginning of the Attitude Era

  • @09rcurry stone cold is the attitude era

  • Funny how this push was actually meant for HHH but Austin got it because of the MSG incident thank god for that

  • @dillydob1 Hmm.. HELMSLEY 3:16 doesn't sound as cool as AUSTIN 3:16

  • @dillydob1 Yeah, that's crazy. I wonder if SCSA would have even received a push if the MSG incident didn't happen.

  • @dillydob1 triple h would have bankrupted the company as the man of the attitude era. triple h cant draw money.

  • @dillydob1 And thats the bottom line cause Hunter Hurst Hemley says so!Yeah! I totally agree! It doesn't have the same punch as Austins version.

  • cant even compare cm punk to stone cold

  • @Jornaldo No, but if anyone comes close, it would definitely be Cm Punk.

  • @Jornaldo yeah they are both good in different ways

  • @Jornaldo unfortunantly cm punk is the closest thing to stone cold we may ever get because of how the wwe is today with there stupid PG era

  • @Jornaldo Thats an understatement! The 1 and only thing that Punk and Austin have in common is that they both challenge authority and thats about it.

  • @sammylane21 Yeah. Sadly, they're trying to make CM Punk & John Laurinaitis, "Austin/McMahon 2.0"

Not that I don't like Punk (I do) but this is a sad attempt at it.

  • @Jornaldo cm punk can be compared, when let loose with no restrictions, he'd be like july every week. Austin is untouchable though so you have a point. Just dont feel the need to belittle talent like cm punk who is entertaining in his own way.

  • Just a heads up, Pro Wrestling Haven is a great site made for all wrestling fans. Check it out: pwhaven. com (No spaces, obviously)

  • WAT R 3:16

  • @arghydoodles bible verses

  • @docbattle07 Aha..

  • the whole thing was improvised wasn´t it?

  • @AwesomeNightman I'm sure he had an idea of what he was going to say, but it wasn't scripted for him, if that's what you mean.

  • @looder22 yea

  • amazing skills

  • This might be the best promo ever, really the start of the attitude era!

  • Wrestling in this era is the most well thought out thing ever.... where the fuck did they come up with this shit. I know Austin just cut random promos and they were never written.

  • this is when vince looked at stone cold and went oh we got something here.

  • and that's the bottom line cuz stone cold said so

  • austin 316

  • AUSTIN 3:16 SAID I JUST WHOOPED UR ASS!!!

    greatest line ever

  • Punk should never be compared to anyone from the attitude era, especially Austin

  • The Austin Era started in Milwaukee. Why can't they even bring ppvs hear?

  • The greatest single moment in professional wrestling history. The moment i believed anything was possible in the squared circle.

  • @paddyyingtong1 Hell yeah if it weren't for Austin 3:16 the company would never be at the top

  • @Gatz22 u see punk winning the unidisputed belt after that wat the hell was nash was doing out there..he whoooped punk ass

  • @brockhit HA HA I know everyone was thinking what the hell I knew Del Rio would come out but I didn't expect Nash to come out from the crowd, that was awesome

  • ...and the legend began...

  • PIPE BOMB

  • as a king of the ring i m serving a notice against every dubya dubya ef superstars

  • there s no relation between this and punk shoot.......this promo is way more better then that cm punk shoot no offence against punk shoot......but

    austin is austin

  • @brockhit No one can surpass Austin in the best speech/buildup in WWF history

  • @brockhit Although CM Punk is getting his moment he can ever beat Austins moment PERIOD!

  • his first year in wwe he got big puch

  • king of the ring austin 3:16. Now joe 3:16 just startes insult your ass

  • "Austin 3:60 said I just whooped your ass!" OWNED! gotta love stone cold

  • @jaiminhas Austin 3:16. I think u need ur ass whipped for mis quoting Stone Cold.

  • In my view CM Punk's was a lot better

  • @AlbionNick123 CM punk's was planed Stone Cold was never spouse to win the king of the ring

  • @AlbionNick123 ur view is dumb

  • 1:56 He used index fingers back then? O.0

  • And that's why Stone Cold is the greatest ever to have stepped in the WWF/E ring! Wish he could wrestle more, specially now with his biggest student, CM Punk.

  • people will always compare this promo to CM punks due to the sheer similarity.

But in my opinion CM Punks was better because he was speaking from the heart while austin's was just plain stone cold delivery...no pun intended.

  • Everyone skip to 3:16. Lol.

  • I was only 5 when this happened, so I didn't watch wrestling back then (obviously) so I was just curious, why did he do this? Why was it so shocking to everyone? Someone explain please? I'd appreciate it a lot!

  • @Tedaus20 The WWF was always a fairly conservative, family-friendly product, so when Steve Austin showed up cursing every 5 seconds, it was pretty crazy. Also, this is where the Austin 3:16 stuff started.

  • thunderbird!!!!!!

  • This was The OFFICIAL arrival of the Attitude ERA, this speech

  • First, there was Austin 3:16

    Now, there's CM Punk

  • So I was in line at 7-11 last week wearing my Austin 3:16 shirt that barely fits me and the couple in front of me says they always hear Austin 3:16 and wanted to know what it meant, they knew the wrestler, I Explained the story and they laughed. I always get a kick out of telling it.

  • There goes Jake The Snake's career lol
