@rohanA380 It means that that area is not meant for landing, it can only be used for takeoffs. That is why there was a big arrow pointing to the beginning of the runway.

500kts??!! Thats worse than putting them down at 5000 feet AGL. Max speed for the first notch of flaps depending on the plane is about 230 knots indicating. And about 190 for the LNDG gear.
? you said 500 kts...but still 500 is pretty low. It doesn't really have to do with the altitude. It's how far our from the airport you are, how steep the approach and what type of plane you're in. In a 172 I start adding the flaps when I'm about to turn onto base. But when your in a jet, you start adding them out about 8-12 miles back then have them full by about 3-5 nm from the threshold.
The airpot is LIPX (ICAO) Verona Villafranca. Approaching ILS 04 (044°), maintaing rwy headind at 1nm in front of the city of Romeo and Juliett, the city of love, My City... :)
dude i am going to fly the citation x and i know a lot of its features and let me tell ya most of the vids ive seen the approach was not nearly as high! you can hardly even see the friggin road down there!
yea really i went in a piper cherokee archer 2 on saturday march 1st man was good i got to do the rotation on take off and there is a message coming your way

Nice and fast landing ! Thank you for the sharing. I just missed the GPWS altitude callout´s. Is there no GPWS installed in the Citation X ?

Great landing! What did the "X" on the beginning of the runway mean?

@senorlemon That X shouldn't be there if it was a takeoff only part of the runway; X mean "runway closed".

@rohanA380 No landing/overrun zone. It's a displaced threshold runway and the X's mark out the overrun area.

Sir, is the usual approach speed for a light private jet such as the Citation X, around 135 knots or so, with full flaps extended and gear down?
ianleviseur21 3 years ago
yes 135 kts. with full flaps at about 5,000 (or thats what i do) and gear down
N617A 3 years ago
5000' is a bit high for full flaps and gear down - particularly on flight sim. Bahahahahahah!
panictactics 3 years ago
yea that was posted a LONMG time ago i figued at maybe 500 kts is good for 1st notch

I bet when you drive away from the airport just after flying that everything seems super slow, hehe.

jesus it must be awesome landing a biz jet, that approach speed is fucking high!

Is it hard seeing over the dash becasue i know its hard for me to see over it on the sim. thanks
aviator06 4 years ago
It's always easier to see in the real thing. Sims suck for visual acuity.
