  • Gracias Carlos.

  • crap

  • Perhaps you would like to explain your comment in a bit more detail...

  • So close! 5* and favourite. :-)

  • Great Vid 5* that Coradia 175 Should'nt have been there at the time

  • Thanks Jordan, well at least it was not right in the way, a few second later would really have ruined the shot....

  • A beautiful video. 5*

  • Thanks you...

  • I got scared! 5*

  • It looks like the climb up Miles Platting bank was generally unexpected but, given the occasion and protocol, I'm not surprised.

  • It was known earlier in the day that she was going that way to Crewe, I would have been there myself except for the fact that I could not get there for 4.30.

  • Great filming Ralph, despite the efforts of the other train. Looks like she went up Miles Platting bank too!

  • Thanks, yes she did go up Miles Platting and I am amazed that there is no video coverage from there, I've only seen a couple of stills.

  • Great Video, 5 Stars!

  • Ooooh that was too close for comfort Ralph, but it all adds to the excitement...superb footage...5* Bob

  • Fortunately I heard it coming which was why I zoomed back rather quickly, so that I would not lose Tornado when she emerged from behind the unit.

  • well done, i wished id gone for it now was sent photos of it in platform 12 at crewe.

  • Thanks guys all your comments are appreciated..

  • very good video and unluky a train came the over way

  • Great shot Ralph,so lucky the unit wasnt 5 seconds later! So close to been bowled! 5*

  • lovely to hear the call of buzzards, great shot of tornado as well, was surprised to hear tornado was back at preston circa 3pm though.

  • verry nice video

  • First the sound from the plane to mask Tornado's approach; then the pesky DMU and still you ended up with a cracking video. And all in failing light conditions too. First class, Ralph, and 5 well deserved stars! Frank.

  • Thanks Frank, a real combination there, just a pity I could not get a better shot of the buzzards, not often they are that low.

  • Very nice clip Ralph, the 175 didn't intrude too much and you got a great whistle

  • Thanks Austin, she was probably whistling at every station as when I was packing up I heard the one for Holmes Chapel which is not far away.

  • A splendid. And very lucky. shot.

I like the person in the shelter on the other platform looking round in mild surprise after it went thtough.

  • Never noticed that until you pointed it out Andrei, thanks.

  • Great footage!

If that silly DMU had been a couple of seconds later...disaster!

Luckly it wasnt and you got a great shot!

    Tom

  • Thanks Tom, yes I heard it coming so thats why i panned back quickly.

  • A very close shave that was - if that had been two more seconds later, that would have been a grand shot well and truly ruined. Well done for keeping your cool in mid-filming.

That aside, yet another glorious moment in the career of 60163. Five well deserved stars!

  • Thanks AB, pity she did not come 20 minutes odd earlier, you can see how much the light went between filming the buzzards and her passing.
