    in alaska was the biggest tsunami about 500meters high.

    There are many types of waves:

    f.e. the Freakwave, which is very high.

    Normally tsunamies weren't high, but it#s possible that they "go over" another wave.

    That will make a wave HIGH

  • @ParkourRockStar - Blender 2.5x is more or less equal to 3DS Max version 4.x, if you include some spendy add-ons that didn't come with Max. Obviously 3DS Max has evolved a ways since then.

  • @Bernie3ds The 22 hours is just render time. There is also some bake time, wich had to be more than 10 hours. And, you also have to make the city and everything, and it has to work right. You can also bake more times in case of need.

  • @Bernie3ds i once waited 2 days on a render of 2 mins :p; and that's without video , the video took a few hours also

  • Hi, please could you help me? I have a project where is a glass. Water fell down into the glass a some water fell out. My problem is the particles of water stay and levitate above the adges of the glass. In another project I have a boat on the sea level. The problem is the waves of water is probably one meter from boat. It has to create at the boat, hasnt it?

  • the resolution is still waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too low.if you wanted to make a sim of that scale and realistic, it would have to have a res of like 5000

    The viscosity isnt the problem.... you need to set the real world size to abot 300.

  • I got a question how did you make the spray effect you know when the ocean starts moving, and when the water start colliding with the buildings it makes that hit. Would you mind on giving information about in the description or PM me? Cause I'm trying to accomplish that effect for a movie where there's a tsunami. When I do the simulation it doesn't do that it's just completely flat no spray, no splash.

  • You have to use "Generate Particles" in the Fluid-Domain settings.

  • Well what a coincidence I'm too doing something revolutionary too! I'm recreated the visual effects from the movie 2012 in blender! Well not the whole the movie but just the 2nd trailer. I want to prove to the blender community that blender can do the impossible. Good luck with your project hope for the best of it!

  • @FPSatan Maybe the fluid couldn't destroy the buildings directly, but perhaps indirectly throughout reaction particle system settings for the wave's emission, and an explode modifier on the building which when the particles emitted from the fluid hit the buildings, the faces detach. And perhaps make the buildings like block structures and add a physics sim so as the blocks are destroyed by the wave, the overall structures shift and collapse. There is a potential method. I'm using 2.5 so I can't.
