how did you ballast your track? every time i try to do it it ruins my layout! plus it looks very unrealistic. yours looks like its from n-track train assosiaton or somthin {they are VERY good on layouts}

Well I use woodland scenics fine ballast. I run a bead of ballast down the center of the track, then brush it even. Once that is done I then put a bead down each side of the track and brush it out as well. Then I soak the ballast with 90% rubbing alchol, then I use scenic cement to cement it down. By using the rubbing alchoal I settle the ballast and allow the glue to run freely through the ballast.

Look at that a small layout into your dream layout. THATS SOOOOO COOL. I hope one day you will move that layout and make the biggest layout you ever did. Anyways I hope your layout goes to a TRAIN SHOW, it needs to.

I plan on starting on a door sized layout at the first of the year.  But thanks, also I will be taking it to some train shows. I built it to this size with that in mind.

Dude that is ironic. Your layout will be great as well. Its taken me since Feb. of last year to get it here.
