"HEY!... HEY!" as he turns to look back at me... I shout... "I just got your new record"!... later after my mind gets back in gear... I realize, Heck, I did call Out his name correctly "HAY... HAY"
and I kid you not... who's walking by with his wife on his arm... but colin hay!... I stare at him and he looks at me and as he passes... I draw a complete blank and can't remember his name for the life of me, but I know his work so well... all I manage is to shout out, as he's now half a block away...
I'm still drinking... what the F#@%! ... is he talking about... burp!... Hiccup!
Just pullin yer legs... I really do love love his Voice and his honest witty songs...
I remember a few years ago I just picked up a bunch of his CD's including his new release man at work, and I was going out to lunch a few days latter from work with a buddy and we turned they corner on 41st st. and 3rd Ave in NYC...
I am an alcoholic, made enough money in my younger years to pay for my habit and even bought a bar so I wouldn't pay anyone else for my habit...Colin does a great job with this song and it really is a nice way to keep the memories that I can't remember any longer...Been listen to his music since Men at Work back in the 80's and always smile when I hear his voice...I'll raise a Stoli martivi and salute you for posting this song...
Not to get to deep but Colin's songs have helped me through alot of rough times. Obviously not this song, I'm not a Alcholic, But his other songs, Especially my favourite song in the world, Waiting for my real life to begin. This is one of his best. I prefer is acoustic solos rather than his lively, jumpy themes.
