I got Intel Pentium 4 2.8 ghz 533 fsb and 1gb ram + Geforce 6600 GT and it runs great! (i lapped and overclocked my CPU ;D)

The socket 478 CPU's can overclock a shit ton. The 2.4's can go to 4ghz on a decent watercooling setup. Ide suggest a dual 120mm slot rad.

I only payed $500 to upgade my mere socket A AMD Atholon to a PHENOM 9600 (Quad core-2.3ghz) with 2gb ram DX10, and much much more. And that was December 07. But for what I do I don't need anything more because im a linux usr and a programmer.

i like the flashy lights at the back of your computer. (i thought i was pretty smart, as i opened my PC case for the first time yesterday and learnt to remove/insert graphics cards and RAM sticks - I'm 16 too btw- but after hearing about 12 yr olds building PCs, I feel pretty dumb again :P)

Dude, keep it up. That's basically the same way I got into computers - collecting parts, generally screwing around with them until I built one. Of course, now I'm in Aerospace Engineering, but the computer skills still help a lot.

Very fine machine. Very loud though. I have A p4 Prescott 2.8ghz over clocked to 3ghz. 2GB 3200 RAM and a 256MB ATI X1600PRO. About 2tbs of Hard Drive space. Plays Half Life and Counter Strike games at max without a glitch. Still an old machine though. I'm pretty sure your machine is way cheaper since you got bargain parts, that's awesome.

XP Pro SP2 and i just got an 80gb hard drive for it and i might get a new motherboard with pci express with an 500w power supply and a 256mb gddr3 video card and quad core 2.8ghz in a few months
