  • Is it me or does this guy look like a white Snoop Dogg?

  • Lol! "how to play the scale...the different wway" heh

  • these vids where sent from god i swear it :D

  • Thank you for explaining this in terms of music! Goodness I play six instruments and I couldn't figure out guitar for the longest time until I just saw this video!! For goodness sake..

  • How could anybody dislike this??? Thanks so much. I am ready to learn scales and what you did makes sense to me. It's a good beginning.

  • thx you man for helping me learn how to play thx you so much

  • I really don't understand this..):

  • @MizzTukki14 me niether

  • @CokeDK32 It doesn't matter where you start, a whole is when you skip the next fret({fret} {fret2} {fret3}), skipping fret2 to get to fret3 is a whole. A half is just going from fret to fret without skipping.

  • @mgnewage479 thanks dude i get now but i lso have been practiceing alot latly and i think this will help me even more

  • @CokeDK32 no problem, man.

  • @MizzTukki14 It doesn't matter where you start, a whole is when you skip the next fret({fret} {fret2} {fret3}), skipping fret2 to get to fret3 is a whole. A half is just going from fret to fret without skipping. I don't know if i helped, but atleast i tried.

  • this makes me not want to play it is to complicated

  • Cool his the lead guitarist of Blessid Union of Souls, I didn't know that until I read the description

  • I don't understand. How can you start on "G" if you're on the E string??

  • @itiswhatitisvato I'll explain it: the string note is E but once u push a fret u will get another note and you so on the E string you can more than the note E like : fret 1 E string= F ; 2nd F# (F sharp) ; 3rd fret= G....... and so on...

  • @MrRockGod100 Oh ok. I think I get it now..So every other fret is a note. So does that mean that it goes like this: F,F#,G,G#,H,H#,I,I#,J,J#, ect.?

  • @itiswhatitisvato it does, but it only goes to g, and there is no B# or E#

  • @JSullivanL B#=C, E#=F

    Cb=B, Fb=E

  • @MrRockGod100 no the notes are : C,D,E,F;G;A;B;C( high) well these are the natural ones. if u put #( sharp) or "bemol" (have no key for it but it looks like a "b") (bemol is flat(you go Down half a step using this)) u will get altered(changed nothes. PS they are not like in the alphabet :)

  • i appreciated his effort, uploading vids to tutor beginners..thanks a lot cool dude..

  • Thanks. I appreciate what you're doing. These are great exercises for beginners. Gotta start somewhere, right? Keep'em comin'!!!!

  • I'm usually extremely unimpressed with expert village videos, but this guy's videos are actually decent.

  • whats the video after this?

  • Is there any way of viewing these videos in order?

  • Great video, you explain it like a champ.

  • This is good for beginner !

  • Thanks a lot! Very useful for a total beginner..

  • thank you so much. i am COMPLETELY NEW to learning music and guitar. so this is very helpful

  • guitarmanual.typepad.com/blog/ beginning guitar lessons

  • to anyone in the know: when i try to do the finger exercise using 4 fingers, my 3rd finger drags my 2nd across & the whole thing is really uncomfortable when all 4 fingers are on, will my hand adapt in time or am i screwed?

  • will some one make a playlist that is him starting at his first and ending at his last?

  • thanks for the videos but i dont get how to tune the guitar still, was a bit confusing in this video

  • your video's are helping me tons thnx

    -chris

  • try googling - guitar manual blog and see first result, good lessons and free chapter 1 download in .pdf . also videos, good luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I play violin and piano so I would be interested in seeing the correct fingerring for these scales I know u don't use the same finger from fret to fret. I can easily come up with my own since string instr are basically the same but I'd like to see the traditional and probably more sensible approach . thanks!

  • no it would be 3--5--7--8--10--12--13

  • OmG! I've been playing guitar for about 6 years without a teacher or nor even a proper book so I figured the scale out by myself, and i only did it after 4 years because i noticed the pattern in many different songs! i could have saved so much time if I hadn't been stupid enough to say I would learn it by myself just so my father wouldn't contract for me an annoying teacher! Dott ich fühle mich richtig doof!

  • *contract ---> hire

    *Dott--> Gott--> schlechte Deutsch

  • wow you're awesome! i def think i get this now.

  • is each 'Fret' a toning letter?

like is the first Fret 'A' ?

Comment Back If You Do Not Understand

  • @STFU815 no its just a fret and they say example 2nd fret they dont have a letter name only the strings the thickest one is E then going down ADGBE

  • Ohh ok...so the thickest string is E...& the thinest string is A? i thought E was the higher note ? or is that only on certain insturments ?

  • @STFU815 theirs two E's the thickest one is E then going down the second one is A then D then G then B then the smallest string is another E

  • @purpleflaminghead7 if you need help at anything just ask me about the guitar am learning playing guitar for rock and metal music but now i learned stuff about the guitar

  • i think i get it @_@

  • I get it's simple.

  • thx, it helps! :)

  • since when are there commercials on youtube?

  • @theofficialbuddy Since youtube sold out...

  • @theofficialbuddy since you`re not in europe :))))

  • @somboku i wish i was(: amnercia seems dull compaired to europe! your so lucky some day i want to visit but i am wayy to young now lol

  • @theofficialbuddy since youtube started to suck.

  • @theofficialbuddy i k right its like wtf

  • thanks

  • this makes me confused

  • where is that how to play the major scale the other way?

  • watch?v=YlA-ECvYX88&NR=1

  • Are my eyes weird or does that last one look like a 6? It should be a 5

    It's supposed to be G not G#

  • bad

    baaaaaaaaaaaaaad

    confusing

  • good job

  • Its soo confusing!

Anyone know a simple and easy way of getting started with guitar?! and the chords and stuff.

  • this is really cool =) good tips

  • To people with comments like 'oh peleeaasse' and 'everybody knows...'. This is a BEGINNERS course where people just picked up a guitar. Remember your first steps

  • thanks for tellin them

  • @jayhellcat this seem so basic buy i never knew it cuz its the first time i touch a guitar and this seems like something very important to know, there must be a reason he is showing this,

  • @jayhellcat yeah i agree on that :)

  • @jayhellcat I would like to add just a word to your last phrase. "......assholes"

other than that i completely agree with you.

  • u r a gr8 master!!!!

  • B# = C

C# = Db (b)<<<<means flat or one step back towards the headstock

    A# = Bb

C#m + 1 step up (or towards to the right) = Dm

Dm + 1 step up Ebm

    youtube less = practice more

  • o come on u ppl dont know music

    b is always flat c is #

  • One way to overcome the memorization is by making sure you end at the same place each time.

  • each fret of each string got a note ...

  • lol, well said

  • the very end is funny as hell

  • it's not....

  • How do you know what Letter is wich fret? Like when you said we will strta on c on the a string?

  • you know that A is 1 step away from B and B is 1/2 step away from C

  • good4u

  • you just have to know ur strings and frets

    E FF#GG#AA#BCC#DD#E Low E

    A A#BCC#DD#EFF#GG#A

    D D#EFF#GG#AA#BCC#D

    G G#AA#BCC#DD#EFF#G

    B CC#DD#EFF#GG#AA#B

    E FF#GG#AA#BCC#DD#E High E

    hope this kinda helps samscandle

  • yeh becuz everyone can memorize that right?

  • write it down, and ull be playing eventually

  • Cheers man that helped. Pretty simple once you work it out. Just have to remember that there's no B or E sharp.

Makes you wonder who the hell invented guitar though and desinged all this, one clever mofo lol

  • thanx, so how would u play b#?

  • b# is an a flat

  • b# is a C I think.

  • Thanks alot! I realy got alot out of this single video!

  • thanks for the great videos. thanks :D

  • what do we do if our fingers ??

it hurts like hell playing guitar.

i guess thts the price to pay.

  • Your fingers will get used to playing and they will stop hurting over time. Dont worry.

  • you fingers will easily toughen up. When I first started with an acoustic I had steel strings which hurt so bad at the time, now its just like going to the bathroom.. *Bad Example*

  • lol owie

  • its like going to the bathroom?!?!?!?! WHAT KIND OF EXPRESSION IS THAT?!?!

  • like.. its a natural thing... : D

  • haha ok

  • good way to make a song

  • wat if ur a real newbie and you have no clue about music cuz u just bought the guitar a week ago like me? what is a G or C? or scale?

  • I'm guessing steps and half steps are equivalent to tones and semi-tones on the piano or something?

  • Yes that's exactly what it is

  • Thanks. I just have one thing to say. I see a sugar free Red Bull behind you. Man, you don't need to ear to drink diet ANYTHING! :-) Thanks again.

  • Really Helpful !

  • yer i got none of that how long does it take to play the gutare?

  • it matters what u mean by how to play guitar it takes a week or two to learn power chords, it takes about 6 or 7 months to learn songs.

unless u want to play songs from megadeth slayer or metallica

  • 6 or 7 months? try about 2 hours lol

  • woah 6-7 months? damn, when i first picked up a guitar i learned a song in like less than a week

  • Well, what kind of song are we talking about here?

If you are talking about the introriff of smoke on the water or something, i am not too impressed...

  • hopefully longer than it took you to learn to spell

  • thnx this really helped!

  • Comment removed

  • This guy is ok. The problem is that, -out of my P.O.V.- he goes a little too fast with teaching. I'm a slow learner. Others may be faster. He needs to explain.

  • ITS JESUS!!! He will teach us the basics of guitar. Thxs....:) really helped.

  • Yeah... Each String Starts Out As EADGBE

Thats all the strings opened... Then each half step is a Sharp Or Flat... But, If you press the first fret on the top string it automatically is F then the second fret is F Sharp Or G Flat. Its All Alphabatized.. Its stupid and simple once you realize it.

  • i dont' really know much about the part where the strings or names e c a and stuff change when you go to certain parts of the guitar ...??? yeah like how i knew it went something like the lowest sounding string to highest sounding string 1-6 is e a d g b e or something but then it gets more confusing because you were on the lowest sounding string you were just sliding down that same string at you said it turned into another string name ?

  • when you move to another fret it's another note which could also be another string. just like with songs you can play songs in diffrent places on the guitar and it still sound the same.

  • i'm a little confused but not a much as the last video i just saw this one is more basic

  • free guitar lessons! YEAH! but i don't have a guitar :( xD

  • at ten seconds in i thought he was motioning to teach us how to roll a joint.

  • u look like snoop dogg

  • this guy reminds me of snoop, anyways..awsome lessons dude

  • wtf

  • Isn't moving from 7th to 8th (B to C) a whole step? There's no fret in between :/

  • nope, e to f and b to c is a halfstep

  • Yeah theres no fret in between but its half a step, since B doesnt have a #. Its only

    A - A#/Bb - B - C - C#/Db....

  • watch awesome tibetan guitarist (from switzerland?!), he will blow you away! just look for "purtag" (his name)

  • thank you guys for help I'll get my guitar as soon as I can and I'll start my trip with it to find new skills under my skin I hope I can do it wish me luck thanks again

  • It's difficult to clearly see the finger position because the camera comes in at an angle.

  • when u do the half note. like u put only liek half of the tip of ur fingers on ??? is that wat u mean . i can't see really well :D
