  • who is gary and beth, are they the Phantom and Christine :)

  • Do u have Madame Giry's tale, I'd like to hear it please!!!

  • ok, can someone answer how he is able to get all the way to the top of the stairs at the end?

I suspect it's not actually him, but a double who is also wearing a red death costume and hiding behind a wall

  • @popertop Yup, that's what I think. Watch other bootlegs and you clearly see the real Phantom goes down a trap door.

  • I love the masquerade scene from POTO, especially when Raoul carries christine. Too bad Gary doesn't carry beth.

  • i hate commenting twice but how does he get back up their soo fast!!!!!

  • @sadlydogscantfly The second guy's a double :]

  • when he says " i advise you to comply..." its so creepy, i love it

  • The Phantom disliked this video..

Also, that guy playing the trumpet has chops

  • I love how the Phantom did that thing at 6:51, making people he disappeared. Then, he's back at 6:54, trying to creep out the people for fun, laughing, thinking hes so evil! XD

  • I really love the Red Death mask! the way the jaw moved so realistically is just chilling! I want one really bad :P

  • why didn't they do the TRAP DOOR?

  • I love Jim as Raoul..even though I don't like Raoul lol :]

    Love this cast.

  • SOOO many amazing memories. <3

  • I LOVE how Gary does this! Very chilling. =-)

  • the people on the sides of the stage are fake right?

  • @p0k3r143 Yes, they are fake. They are mannequins that are on springs so they can move and look like they are dancing. Sorry to give away some of the theatricality of this scene though.

  • i dont like how they toned down the red death costume in the movie it looks ok but THIS is how it was meant to be it looks AWESOME frank-yew fer putting this up

  • I LOVE IT!!! I wish i could see the play in Greece....

  • i LOVE this show. i saw in in NYC in june.

  • This is the production I saw a few years ago!!!

  • i just saw this yesterday!

    Piangi was my favorite

  • god, the red death costume must be absolute HELL to wear, its so big and the the stage lights are shining down on you...i salute those who can wear it!!

  • The Red Death is my favorite out of the all the costumes.

  • "Why so silent" has always been my favorite part.

  • hi, i'm from to mexico city. this song is a wonderful, she is that but moves to me of all is excelent, in the mexico putting was also wonderful I saw eight times. Thanks for rise his video

  • This song makes me feel like dancing everytime.

  • Looks like I filmed this

  • Excellent song....great play...thank you so much!

  • actually it's quite stunning...it's supposed to be the red death if you have a brain...no offense

  • And I'm sure that if we saw you we would agree you are the most horrible thing WE have seen.

P.S. If you going to act like a dumbass and spam videos, at least have the decency to use good grammar! "...the most horrible thing I seen."? Its I've (or I have) dip shit!

  • DC Anderson is the greatest André yet. I met him and he's just a joy both onstage and off.

  • Look at him compared to everyone else, it was clear who he was.

  • How did they know it was the Phantom when he first entered if it was a masquerade ball?

  • you know, I've been asking the same for many years

  • lol I guess we'll never know!

  • Ha, your comment made me chuckle a bit. Good damn point.

  • DIDNT YOU HEAR THE OMINOUS MUSIC? lol hehe Dunno really

  • maybe he has this prescence that can just be sensed. but then they're not sure if its him in don juan triumphant(point of no return. so really. its just convienent to the plot. :D their writers! they are all powerful *ominous chord* well not really...im drmatic.

  • Maybe because of his costume... he's suppose to be Red Death... that and the ominous music.

  • We just read the "Masque of the Red Death" in English which is probably what the whole Masquerade scene is based off of. It takes place at a masquerade time ball. everyone is dancing and celebrating when suddenly the Masqued Figure appears.

  • Everyone is instantly terrified bcs the Red Death figure is symbolic of terror and death.

Thats why everyone knows its the Phantom.. he's a mysterious figure that killed earlier in the show.. therefore everyone is scared! Hope that explains it!

  • Woah. 2 years old comment and I'm replying. O_O Hi! I think it was because they heard his voice before hand ("Did I not instruct that box Five was to be kept empty?!") and such, and the fact that he kind of poofed there...

Like a Ghost. O_O *gasp* xD

  • Wow ensemble you harmonize on the closing night but not in atlanta thanks. GARY AND BETH LOVE U

  • was this phantom of the opera on broadway or the national tour of it?

  • the amazing natioal tour.

  • This Christine is great!

  • ok i wish someone posted a recording of the entire [play!

  • Where do u find the red death coustume anyways?

  • its gotta be hard to catch that

  • masquerade is my favorite scene! thank you for posting this!

  • was this professenaly recorded?

  • this is sooooo amazing! i love it!

  • Yup

  • Hal prince?

  • My Music teacher was the Director of it

  • it NEVER fails...when Andre opens up his costume revealing the skeleton everyone in the theatre cracks up. Am I just used to it? I just don't think it's THAT funny. However, D.C. Anderson probably has something to do with it. IMO, he's the funniest Andre to date.

  • Ya know I never understood that either. When I saw it live everyone laughed but me I was thinking to myself "What's so funny?" I never got this part in the musical!

  • totally. Now that I know it's coming and that I know everyone is going to laugh, I pretty much laugh because everyone else at something that really isn't all that funny in and of itself.

  • what does he say at 00:10-00:12, why is it so funny

  • "what does he say at 00:10-00:12, why is it so funny "

the laugh is at his costume, not what he is saying

  • is this broadway or us im not sure so i thought i would ask if u dont mind

  • the last performance was in texis

  • i'm sorry to hear that!

  • wow

  • This is so good Props to who ever got this brva

  • This was the only part of the show that dissapointed me alot because it jsut was not good for me. But i still love the show but i must say I love les Miserables more sorry

  • Goodness, I love Gary's acting in this scene. It just proves that facial expressions isn't all there is to acting.

By the way, do you have Music of the Night with Gary and Beth? I heard their chemistry is amazing in that scene.

  • Yes I do, I'll upload it for you :)
