I know what you mean by EV training. I noticed all the stats were different when you raised pokemon the old fashioned way compared to giving them rare candies. I remember pwning my friends level 100 pokemon that were fed rare candies against my level 55 starting line up. hahaha those were the days... Effort Training 4 da win!!1!

EV Training is when you battle certain pokemon that give you EV Points towards a specific stat. fighting different pokemon can cause you to earn different amounts of EV Points. 4 EV Points=1 Stat point, which explains how its possible to make a pokemon get +15 Attack, Def, Speed, SP Atk, or SP Def when leveling up...if ur an extreme pokemon player, then you will try to score good IV (Individual Values) i play too much...=="
