Files that are emulated on an emulator are called "ROMS". This is super mario 64 (U) rom i downloaded and mucked with. lol.

I didn't write a patch to "patch the rom" i actually directly modified the rom, so if i were to send you a copy i'd be illegally sending you a copy of a game with a "hardcoded patch" as you could call it. I've seen alot of people getting busted for things like this, and i'd probably get busted for it too if this particular rom was distributed too much. (if i give it to you, i have to give it to everyone, don't i? lol)
