USB is basically a "clean room reverse engineering job on Apples Firewire for WinTel. Back in the 1990s, WinTel didn't want ot spend the licensing fee to Apple so they came up with a competing product that was basically a knock-off of Firewire. Since, 99% of the work was copied from Firewire, there was very little original thinking going into USB. Bhatt was just one of many people who worked on the project. He really didn't invent anything
This is just a propoganda camphaing by Intel to pimp the H1B program. They are trying to make this Bhatt look like Edison or something. For those who don't know, there is a guest worker program called H1B that was enacted by the tech lobby in 1990 to bring in supposedly "rare, skilled" workers to fill a tech labor shortage. Intel is one of the biggest users of this program and 85-90% of the cheap labor comes from India.
@linuxguru1968 Thanks for your hospitality, That says how grateful of a person you are!!! Really, look what happened with the American Greed. Work and get what you deserve, there is nothing called cheap labor! For the Record, without H1B Visa and techies from India, you wouldn't even imagine how backword this country would be at the movement. Anyways, trace your origin back when u'r great grand father came from and go back, u donot belong here
@hikerpiker None of my ancestors came to the US as guest workers. About how backwards this country would be without H1Bs, the US was preiminant in technology BEFORE 1990 when the H1B program was created. Autombiles, telegraph, telephones, sustained powered flight, radio, television, computers, tubes, transistors, microchips, microprocessor and the internet - to name a few were invented in the US by European people - before H1B.
@hikerpiker IMHO, the high loss of jobs and high unemployment are due to a glut of people brought to the US during the dotcom and real estate bubbles. Technology has been relatively stagnant since the dotcom bubble burst, native born americans can no longer make a living in technology, they dont get jobs in tech and are therefore not founding the future Apples, Intels and Microsofts. BTW, you are trying to make a link between guest workers(H1Bs) and immigrants - they are different.
@hikerpiker This country invented railroads, telegraphs, telephones, radio, tubes, radio, television, transistors, integrated ciurcuts, CPUs, PCS, mainfrains, the Internet to name a few - ALL way before the H1B started in 1990; so what has happen since then? Not much innovation compared to before...becuase corporate cheap labor practices like H1B have driven all the native born innovators out of technology. That is what will make the US a second rate power.

@hikerpiker For anyone who is interested on the real story behind H1B, google Norman Matloff or Ron Hira or visit the Programmers Guild website.
