i bought the domain from godaddy and the hosting from hostgator like you have i have followed step by step can you tell me why this has occured is it because servers 1&2 have not been approved yet ..? let me know NEED HELP PLEASE !

  • Christ, talk about dragging something out! Don't think I could listen to him for a Part 2!

  • with the free themes from wordpress... the ones with logos... can you post link on how to change the logo

  • fuck you, you are not professional for youtube tutorial.......... you have to go school.

  • This is such along video but it is worth it if you need the handholding. Talk about start to finish. Bonus, really friendly and positive attitude. Congrats Marvin.

  • Hi Marvin hands up for you very helpful info

    Thank you

  • Thanks so much for aiding me in using Wordpress. Just a thought that you and your subscribers might want to know, when purchasing a domain name DO NOT use any site that sells domains as a means to see if they are available. Simply type the domain name you want, in the search bar to see if it's available. Reason why? If you are just "seeing" whats available but don't actually purchase the domain, there are search companies that buy these domains so they can charge you more once you buy them.

  • @GabrielHaze Thanks for the input! Have you already purchased your hosting and started to design your site?

  • @hooterhost

I already actually a website that was coded for me at GabrielHaze. com I wanted to learn Wordpress so I could create some additional sub domains for specialized areas since I cannot afford to pay a coder. Sadly I am a creative designer and failed at Spanish in grade school. So learning languages is difficult for me, thus why it took me so long just to learn HTML and CSS (of which I still heavily depend on Dreamweaver).

  • @GabrielHaze

Use Muse its made by Adobe and its alot easier specially if you work with Indesign or Illustrator. All this work needed just to put some text and pictures up, it takes me back to the 80's when you had to write a load of code just to make text run across the screen!

  • im stuck on the add on domains part for host gator do actually make the domain active..everytime i click add on domain i keep getting: Sorry, you are not allowed to add any more than (0) addon domains! The domain below was not setup!

  • I got my problem taken care of thanks for posting this video.

  • Thank you so much!.

  • Top tutorial thanks.

  • this video is awesome it's just so long

  • As a complete beginner I was confused with so many aspects of setting up my website but I followed your instructions the whole way through and now I am good to go!Thanks man I really appreciate this I would have been lost without it.

  • One million thank;s for you man

  • Marvin, do we have to purchase web space before designing the website? I mean can't we design it and then host it?

  • OMG!!! Thank you so much for this!!! You do not know how cleary you made this be, I swear I was about to go crazy trying to figure it out! God Bless you and Thank you again!

  • Great vid but heads up @ 30:26 I see your user name & password. Might want to cover it

  • @aenelson89 Thanks! It was changed long ago.

  • Thank you so much, my website is now up and running :)

  • I got stuck at the step in your video @ 39:20. After I set the Nameservers on GoDaddy.com, and it is now saying the DNS Manager is now live when i log into Godaddy.com. But when I go to addon domains on hostgater, it says "Sorry, you are not allowed to add any more than (0) addon domains! The domain below was not setup!" Can you help me?

  • @hbarker216 It sounds like you purchased the hosting plan that allows you to add only one domain. If you have already changed the godaddy DNS to that of your hosting account your site hould be ready. Sometimes it takes 1-24 hours for godaddy to correct the DNS but once thats done your good to go.

  • @FreeLeadsExpert

So Basically your are saying that we should wait until Go-daddy DNS has seen that we changed it to accept two domain names.

  • Comment removed

  • @hbarker216 So did you have to purchase the correct DNS on Go daddy to get it to work correctly?

  • Hey there! Have you tried the Intellitus Cash System (just google it)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my father got insane amounts of moolah.

  • Great video! It is good that people who can make such tutorial exist!

At the moment, we are also making Wordpress related tutorials. Would you be interested in our video response? We would be glad to give you one.

  • @divineIproject What kind on video response? Are you talking about an addition to my current tutorial? Email me more info.

  • Hi.. I was trying to find my wordpress blog on google.. I cant find it? Do I need to change something in my blog ?

    Thank you

  • @TheBarbora14 It takes google a while to rank a site. I suggest you watch my other videos related to this that covers plugins. I talk about a plugin called (All Iin One SEO) . It might help.

  • Thanks a lots !!!

  • @ZazaGeorgian You are very welcome.

  • Thanks, Marvin. How do you find out what size image fits on the

background? Also, since my last post to you I've viewed several videos on

building a static site with WordPress. Some are obviously better than

others. I'm trying to transfer the contents of a site I built from scratch

into a WordPress template and it is extremely frustrating! If you have tips

on how to research a WordPress template and get the answers you need for

    customizing, that would be awesome

  • @TheMoofy8 email me, we will figure it out together. Im sure its not as hard as you may think.

  • Thanks so much, you deserve all the praise you get, when my website is done i will put a link to your channel as a way to say thanks :-)

  • @alnibbles Thanks! Hey what is the link to your site? I would love to check it out.

  • @FreeLeadsExpert Its still a work in progress but i will pm you when its done

  • Marvin,

This is so helpful. I appreciate your assistance more than you can know. Seriously...thank you very much.

    Kindly,

    MrSamuelSpade

  • @MrSamuelSpade Your very much welcome. Please let me know if I can help you with anything else.

  • Fantastic! Thank you!!! Can you please share with me, what settings do we need to use to stop all the emailed comments. IN other words, how to stop the spam email for comments.

  • @dfwadwords This is an issue I have yet to figure out. Some plugins help but dont stop it all together. The best solution I came up with was not to use my primary email. I set up an email specifically for the comments on my site.

  • Awesome work!!!

  • @Johan911xx Thanks!

  • My next step is learning how to customize the template I download so I can have a static looking page on top and blog on another page found within a menu along with several galleries...have you covered that type of issue yet? (Don't want to pay extra, if possible, for customization) Thanks!

  • @TheMoofy8 Yes I have. Send me an email and I can send you a few links.

  • I don't usually comment on Youtube videos but it would have been very unfair not to appreciate this marvelous video. When the maker of this tutorial can take so much time out for his viewers then why can't we show him our appreciation for a work well-done by at least signing into our Youtube accounts and giving him a thumbs-up .The tutorial is simple, to-the-point and to top it all each and every step is shown and explained lucidly so that one is able to get one's blog up and running.

  • @2010superfunny Thanks for watching and commenting. Comments like yours remind me the value of helping other people. I really appreciate it. Thanks again. Be sure to watch the following videos about which plugins to use.

  • thanks for tackling the beginning part!

  • @TheMoofy8 Your welcome, feel free to let me know of any other topics you want me to cover.

  • Just amazing. Very informative. Thank you for taking the time. I typically don't comment on videos but this video truly deserved it.!!!

  • @twista0685 Thanks Allot!

  • Excellent Video!

  • @MirandaMajors Thanks Miranda

  • i have to take that comment back. im getting pretty used to wordpress. would like to use cs5.

  • @tonysboris1 I use a combination of CS% tools like photoshop and dreamweaver to help me create custom wordpress websites. Like there = hartistry . net, dorothyh . com

  • Hi Marv!

Great intro to people wanting an introduction to WordPress! Your voice is so cool! I think you should be commissioned for voice overs on other projects! How about doing a rap version?

  • @guydwelly Thank! Iv actually thought about making a rap version because I used to rap back in the day. I dont know, I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens.

  • Thanks for watching my friend. I am glad you found the information useful. Be sure to let me know if I can ever be of service. More vids coming soon!

  • Marvin. Thanks so much! You showed amazing patience putting this together. It's been really helpful to watch. I'm OK with WordPress CMS, tho this is a great reminder... but the real value for me (I'm not a designer / coder) was the way you explained in simple language, how to link a domain name to a web hosting company, and how to install wordpress... you suddenly made the whole thing seem non-scary. I'll use the hostgator code I got on your site to buy my hosting. Thanks & respect from London!

  • @lecksicun Thanks! Dont forget to subscribe and join my facebook page to see how to drive traffic.

  • This really doesn't teach anything. I got the feeling this is all advertisement for himself.

  • @Iwatchtrek Of course it is advertisement for myself and my business, but it is also an educational tutorial for anyone wanting to learn how to build a website. If you feel like you did not learn anything thats your opinion. Maybe you already knew this info and was looking for something. If so, subscribe, there are many more vids coming out in the future. Thanks for watching.

  • Your account details are viewable @ 30:22 and once before that. You've probably changed the details now, but I thought I'd give you a heads up.

  • @MrMohammedIsrar Yes all has been changed but thanks for the heads up!

  • interesting.... thanx a lot for sharing ur knowledge with us...

  • @chami311 anytime mate!

  • Thanks for the video! first actually helpful one i've found so far. Also i had a question about a domain of a friend. I made his website (designed wrote the html) but he uploaded it and now it has malware on it. It was done on a safe computer in a safe place. Does this mean his password just sucked? Don't know if you know anything but i thought i'd ask anyway :)

  • @eatyoualive2000 I experienced this, If you are hosting with hostgator let them go in and check it out. They will let you know things you need to do to fix the problem.

  • word press pretty much sucks....

  • @tonysboris1 why do you think that?

  • Gosh I wish I would have found this video sooner! It would've saved me 2 days of searching on how to build a website! Thanks so much!

  • i can say only "this is great" thank you a lot for this useful tutorial. :)

  • The price on that web hosting was actually $7. The 1.79 was actually 1.79 deducted.

  • Hey, Marv'! You 're great. I really liked your walk through. It was an eye opener. I have got a host but their tutorials are not as detailed as you did here. Keep it up bro. Thanx for your hour and twenty mins just to help some p'ple. Peace. I will check out your site.

  • @MySk1llz Thanks for taking the time to watch my hour and twenty min video. Means allot. Many more coming soon, I've just been super busy with building websites lately. I am truly thankful for that though. lol

  • i not only like u cuz u make awesome website i like you cuz u use the best browser ever Google chrome baby

  • @federxer Thanks! lol

  • great video and really helpful, thanks

  • @dazmack your welcome!

  • Was just a walk through of the self explanatory things in web building. Nothing thorough about actual web building. In my opinion, very unprofessional and commercialized for him to make money on his links. Waste of time.

  • @blonco380 Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. Thanks for watching!

  • you should change your hostgator password, you can see it in this video

  • @billpools Thanks, will do.

  • Nice video. I agree with you. HostGator is the best web host in the industry. I do suggest though starting with the Baby plan versus the Hatchling because if you are paying monthly, it is only $1 more per month. But, if you have already signed up with the Hatchling, just fill out the upgrade form on their website and they'll upgrade you in minutes with no upgrade fee.

  • @billtx1 Thanks for the input!
