Good old Kai Tak ... I have flown into an out of that peice of shit 3 times ... I didn't shed a tear when it closed in '98 ... that son of a bitch was a gut check every time.

itz because hong kong is a tropical place, thatz y theres alwayz typhoons and stuff....and then hong kong is also full of buildings, so the wind through the pressure of the buildings creates very super windy situations...i hope that made sense LOL!

We have a house near Ninoy International in Manila, and sometimes you could feel the wind from the sea, although Ninoy Airport rarely experiences crosswinds like Kai Tak.

Actually if I get the chance, I'd love to, but the airplanes only pass over us when they are in final for runway 24. But when PAL's new planes (777-300's) arrive on November, I'll be there to capture the moment! It's a long wait though.. Maybe I'll take some videos sometime,I'll just post them here.
