Ive followed the instructions given by teleport, and the ones you hav given there, and nether have helped me ive done everyhting asked of me, but it wont connect. i have had some succsess with Mocha VNC, but not teleport or WinAdmin, i wished to test the 3 for comparisen but it looks like im going to have to stick to Mocha VNC

hey does your computer have to be on all the time for you see your computer or can you leave it on stand by and then wake it up when you need it...

because it says that you can use it all over the world... will this work from any WiFi network.....

Don't do it, you won't be able to connect. Teleport itself works fine if you have Vista & iTunes, but you won't be able to make VNC server because none of the VNC based services work on Vista. Sorry.

I had that same problem Kababoba but i typed in the password that i wanted in both spots and my ipod touch and i clicked ok in the Tightvnc box on my computer and press connected on my ipod and it worked. I think that the password on the computer is so that people can not see how many symbols it is.

Very true, I failed to notice that. I completely forgot that connecting to a certain IP gets far more complicated when you use 3G/EDGE. Thans for pointing.

Umm, do you really not know that this does not work through 3g and edge? It's a whole different game when doing this over those networks... You have to set your router so that it port forwards the request form a server on the internet (which you also have to set up). Only after you do all that can you access your computer from edge or the 3g network.

Are you two using Vista? Vista is very poor when it comes to networking, one of the things that don't work are VNC based services.

Here's an excerpt from TightVNC website:

Vista's new security features broke the way VNC service was implemented. And it's not clear yet how much effort would be required to workaround the problems.

And about remotely playing DVD, you can't do it. Refresh rate is too low and WiFi can't transfer data fast enough. I tried it and I saw just a single frame of the movie that changed every 10 seconds. Sorry...
