  • is this Jared from Subway?? lol

    (no offense)

  • How does that not kill your tone?

  • your tuner is going crazy

  • Dude tha easy button is an awesome guitar fx pedal!!!

  • gotta love the easy botton

  • Yeah! your the guy who gave a review on ME-50. I recognize your voice.... :-D

  • What did you use to connect your pedals? (lava cables, planet waves ect.)

  • Love the easy button, Where did u get it?

  • HOW ARE YOU MATE? IS THAT THE STANDARD ORDER OF PEDALS?

  • how do u bring it too gigs

  • you think that chorus is good try the analog man chorus. They are hand made in connecticut

  • Its a shame you went with most boss. None are true bypass. Most suck some tone or volume or introduce noise (like your RC2). There are so many options nowadays. Some more expensive. Some cheaper. Agree with other posters: if you didn't get rid of the ME you should have kept it just to have programmable modulation and introduced some better gain pedals into your chain. Fulltone, MXR, Visual Sound, Duncan Twin Tube. The hardwire line has a couple ok/cheap modulation pedals.

  • Why did you choose the boss loop station? Instead of the digitech jam man solo?

  • boss os-2 and mxr distortion dude good choice!!!

  • howd you build it??

  • buckethead uses the boss overdrive/distortion pedal

  • So what do you think about the easy button? Should I buy one? What guitar does it work best on?

  • Thanks for sharing your set up. Always something to learn from someone. Cheers.

  • Why so much boss??

  • @superbum13 Ummm, cause Boss makes great sounding effects gear?

  • Where the fuck is the wah?

  • @Jack1685 Haven't you heard? Kirk Hammet has depleted the world of all wah pedals and has daisy chained them into one huge ensemble he hopes will further bury his horrendous onslaught of bad lead solos.

  • @RoboRocker69 True, true.

  • I've been looking to build my own board for a while now... what do you use to power your pedals? Do you have a power supply or do you battery power them all?

  • @hubby4forever Voodoo Pedal Power 2+ is the only way to go! Check out my latest video for more info on that.

  • @hubby4forever a better power supply is, gig-rig generator. way cleaner and small unit. much much much better than the voodoo lab

  • i was thinkin about gettin my first volume pedal...what s ur impression on the boss fv500h so far?...is it a tone sucker?

  • Hey man;

If you Use boss digital delay on a softer mode, doesnt noise suppressor AFTER delay kills your delayed signal? i have that problem. cheers

  • so you replaced a Boss multi effects with mostly Boss single effects, nice...

  • @The4455 I agree, I would have kept the multi effects personally and just added a few of the MXR units to the inventory. The plus with the multi FX is that you can program parameters. Pedals have to be tweaked, and that really isn't an option live. To each their own.

  • Hey you dont like the Ds 1 boss, im thinking of buying it, and then buy an overdrive pedal

  • i like that hole riff you did

  • How much did all those cables cost?

  • My fav pedal the easy pedal i just love the sound of it

  • Haha. So what kinda tone do you get out of that easy button?

  • ooh... that was easy

  • What in your opinion now is a better volume is it still the boss or do you also like a no namer company volume pedal or ernie ball or morley or others. I'm just looking for the best to get with the most features

  • @posiedonpowertrio For just straight volume, the Boss is the best I've ever seen. You can adjust the tension on the pedal, which is a big reason why I like it (I always liked mine really tight so it didn't feel like I was slipping and sliding all over). It is also fairly large, which is good for people with big feet like me.

  • How big is the accusal board?

  • Is the GE-7 Noisy and worth it? I have the ME-50 and use the tone modify as an EQ but a EQ seems to sound better and seems to cut through more. Do you seem to notice that too?

  • Hey man, love your board. I got a question, though. Is the Easy Button true bypass?

  • @TheMushroomDog There has never been a truer bypass. :D

  • @azb24 or an easier bypass.

  • Nice board, I dig pedals. I am so happy at this point of my 7 amp in and 5 in loop processors not one little Boss pedal with those crappy buffers. The big dual pedals are better but still no hard by pass and the vuffering amps build up cap. You can plug stuff in all manner of ways I usually do not find the common likes sound as good. I also started using gold hard couplers on my board eliminating a lot of cables. Pretty cool, I have no way to do vids. I built a 4' by 20" slant board major cool.

  • like the pedalboard but i would change two things.

Switch the boss volume pedal with a goodrich and the korg pitchblack to a Turbo tuner.

  • EASY BUTTON!!!!!

  • get a gforce and a F200 roland pedal

  • Hey nice pedal board. What pedals should i buy if i play jazz?

  • how much each pedal cost?

  • love the easy button. i need to take that idea

  • Ahahaha The easy button is there too ahahahha

  • @eticom1 is it just for show or does it have a purpose?

  • @jbsnightrain Anyway your pedal board is awesome. I'm currently buliding one. I bought for 600$ pedals. I need to buy a pedal board now...

  • i love that board !!

  • dude thats really nice!!! i was actually planning to do the same thing you did, build a pedal board off the pedaltrain concept

  • Hope you don't loose that pedal board when to take it to gigs.

iF i could have a pedal board, i'll keep it simple and i'll put:

    -A crunchy overdrive Pedal

    -A compressor pedal

    -A reverb Pedal

    -A phaser

    -Wha pedal

  • Why dont u put ur gain based effects and the loop station in the ns-2 loop so you dont loose any of the tone from your ce-20 cos i had it like yours then i changed it round and the chorus was so much better.

    Just a thought

  • i put me eq behind my amp with loop.

  • The Staples EASY button cracked me up! Classic!

  • Nice !! Why dont u use the power out from the NS 2 and power the other 9V Boss pedals ?

  • I don't have the NS2 anymore. Even when I did, it just wasn't enough power to handle everything. There was a lot of noise in the chain. Check out my 'Home Music Room/Studio Tour' for the latest board.

  • @azb24 daisy chaining power supplies creates ground loops especially on true by pass pedals isolated filtered supplies with the proper mA draw is pro.

  • Hey .. how do u power your pedals ?

  • Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2+

  • Ohh yea, Totally gotta have the "easy" button LOL... xD

  • @thejakeludwig sorry but.. is that for real? i can't tell if he's joking or not... how does it work??

  • @Werflow It works by making stuff easy =).... when something is hard to do just press the easy button lol

  • dude i have a doubt about BOSS FV-500H

what happens if you connect that pedal at the end of the chain, just after effects / before amp?

i know BOSS FV-500L is designed for that function, but i just want to know what happens in that case

    :)

  • no wah?

  • u really like boss

  • Really nice pedalboard. I have to ask you, by the looks of it, you're not using an effects loop. So my question is, how does the delay, chorus and phaser work out for you in the signal chain? Does it sound good for you even if you put it before the actual preamp as long as you put it after the distortion/overdrive pedals?

By the way, what is wireless unit for?

  • I've always thought it sounded fine being in the chain without a loop. They definitely need to be after the drive/gain pedals though.

Wireless receiver gets the signal from the wireless bodypack for the guitar. Check out my latest video 'Home Music Room/Studio Tour' for the latest iteration of the board and information.

  • So you don't use preamp distortion? I mean, if you need the gain/drive to be in front of the delay, then you must be using the clean channel only, and then use pedals as your source of distortion. Am I right?

Do you know if it's possible to mod an amplifier by adding an effects loop and what that might would cost? I'm considering getting the new Mesa Boogie TA-15 amplifier, which doesn't have an effects loop. I really like the sound of the amp but I kind of need a loop.. Ideas?

  • That's correct (what you said above in the first paragraph). In all honesty, I would use an effects loop in the amp, but I don't really have a good amp solution right now to do it (running electric stuff through the PA).

I'm not sure what all would be included in trying to mod an amp with a loop. It is really odd that an amp of that caliber wouldn't have an effects loop built-in.

  • Yeah, I know.. It's Mesa lunchbox, the mesa boogie tiny terror kinda. it was shown during namm 2010 and I'm pretty sure about getting it, only thing holding me back is the lack of an effects loop.. Another option for me would be the Mesa express 5:25 head.. similar amplifier except that it has got more of an American touch to it (and an effects loop of course)((and the price tag is like 500$ more)).

What amplifier are you currently using?

  • Great board man awesome, but what do you use as far as a power supply?

  • Thanks! Check out my Home Music Room/Studio Tour video (linked as a response). In that vid I show my updated board, complete with Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2.

  • Idea: put your NS2 before your delay and chorus. put your ''noise producting'' pedals in the loop of your NS2. ;)

if you try: you know why;)

  • Yeah, at the time I was sort of using the NS2 to kill some of the trash the board was producing as a whole. I learned that it was a power issue and ended up buying Voodoo labs pedal power, which killed all noise, so I got rid of the NS2 altogether. Check out my latest vid Home Music Room/Studio Tour.

  • Charles20yearsold,

You sound like youre jealous of people who have more than a basic guitar and amp. Of course effects and multiple guitar/amps dont make you play better. But if thats what someone chooses to have, good for them. Theres nothing wrong with that, and who are you to tell them theyre stupid for doing so? Why dont you post a video of your extraordinary playing skills using your basic set-up so we can see how a true master does it.

  • How much do those Shure UT4s go for?

  • They don't make them anymore. Instead they have some new models that go for $300-$400. I got mine used for a great price, otherwise it is a little too expensive IMO.

  • i love this board and stuff awesome dude

  • Thanks, check out my new music room tour!

  • cool vid. here's a tip i learned from my dad: if you put your tuner last in the chain, you know right away if your signal is getting through your line of effects in case something comes up that needs troubleshooting.

  • i have a dd-20

  • the classic distortion knobs look like a svastika, the way they are set up...

  • Lol nice easy button

  • i was about to say if he has a pedal wired to that that shits gnarly hahah

  • So a loop station goes near the end of the signal? What about a multi fx (line 6 jm4) which i would use for mostly the looper?

  • can you tune a bass with the Korg Pitchblack tuner?

  • Yes.

  • Is korg pitcblack good? Can you tune whole step down with it?

  • The Korg is great. IMO it is the best stompbox tuner on the market right now. There is no option to change the display for 1/2 or whole step tuning, but it doesn't matter if you know what the notes are on the regular setting anyway.

  • So it shows what note you play? Man i gotta get one of those

  • where can you get an easy button?

  • actually the best way to get the noise supressor actually doing its job properly is to set it in your distortion loop. honestly we can all do it our own way. but i would recommend doing this differently plugging from the guitar/wireless into your tuner, into your volume pedal, into your noise supressors INPUT, then from the SEND on your noise supressor into your couple distortions and your eq pedal, BACK into your supressors RETURN and use the output into the rest of your pedals. itll be quieter

  • looks damn awesome! =D im thinking of buying a boss ge 7, you say you like, have you ever had any problems with it? some people complain about noise, have you ever experienced that?

  • I've never had any issues at all with the GE-7. It has always been great for me.

  • thank you alot for answering mate! =)

  • Hey folks

I want so much a MXR M-86 Classic Distortion. Is the red m115 dist III exactly the same ?? As you say here : Distortion III clone

  • Yes, it is the same.

  • Nice board.. surprised you don't run the delay and eq pedal through your Amp's effects loop? I am geting the MXR 10 band eq this week. I'll just have to fifure out where it works best.

  • Boss man... i like it :D

  • youve inspired me to build a rams head big muff pi in a easy button enclosure....

  • Sick, be sure to make a video once you have it done! :D

  • make a demo of your Boss GE-7 Equalizer pls

  • you have inspired me to put an easy button on my pedal board!

  • How come nobody loops the NS-2? It works waaay better that way but oh well, if it works for you.

    nice vid

  • that was easy. lololol

  • is this allred?

  • allred?

  • does the easy button do anything or is it just for show> also what do you think of the gator Powered Pedal board I only have like 4 pedals woul that be good?

  • Easy button is a joke. No function. I don't know anything about the gator boards. Sorry.

  • The Gator would work great for four pedals. Let me know exactly what pedals you use and I'll know for sure.

    Rock on,

    -TC4L

  • I have a full tone ocd, Vox wah, MXR noise gate, MXR carbon copy, Fender tuner, Boss compressor. ANd a Boost pedal. Whats the best way to set them? I just ordered a Gator PB

  • There isn't quite a "best" way to set them, as there are many different preferences among guitarists. Here's how I like to set them to get you started:

Wah>Compression>Boost>Overdrive>Delay *in effects loop* I don't work with a noise gate, so I can't help you there, but azb24 has his at the very end, and that sounds like a good idea. The tuner should go at the very end or very start of the chain if you're going to set it to bypass your signal to silent-tune.

  • Thanks man. Im trying to get a Mark Knopfler type delay effect. Any ideas? witht he carbon copy>? and how should I adjust the trim pots in sinde it (with and speed) also whats a good setting for a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe amp> thanks alot

    Mike

  • I'm not too familiar with the Carbon Copy - sorry. :-)

(Hell I didn't even know there were trimpots in it!) Check out Proguitarshop's demo of the pedal; that should help. And I know MK plays with a clean signal most of the time. Keep the amp bright with plenty of low-end and low mids. (PGS also has a demo of your amp, so check that out too.)

    Rock on,

    -TC4L

  • how much did all of that together cost ya

  • To be honest I'm not really sure. I've since moved things around (See 'Jam Space Tour' vid). Probably with cabling, wood, etc it is about $400-$500. That is my guess anyway.

  • I'm just after looking up staples easy button thinking it was a guitar effect, lol!

You don't get them in britain. Your board is cool though. will post a video of mine as soon as i can. Cheers!

  • You have inspired me. I will now put together a pedal board.

  • Comment removed

  • so how do you power you pedals? i wouldnt imagine you would be running a 9-volt in each of those pedals

  • Check out my "Jam Space Tour" vid. I have since reworked the board a bit and brought in a Voodoo Pedal Power 2 to power everything. Before I was just daisy chaining it all which was leading to some lag.

  • THE EASY BUTTON!!!!!

    YES!!!!!!!

  • nice set up man, you should check out our guitarists owen barrys's vid on our page.. he gives a tour of his board with some sick playing on it too!

    keep it rocking!

    cheers

  • Question...I just got an ns-2 and the only other pedal I have is a boss metal zone...my question is where do I plug my metal zone into?

  • NS-2 should go after the Metal Zone in the chain.

  • can't wait for the demo of the easy button!!! lol i can just imagine u playin an amazingly fast mind-blowing solo then just..............thay was easy!!!!lol

  • MAN, one question ¿ where do you conect your fx ?¿ in front of the amo or in the back? I have a marshall mg 50 dfx and my pedals are: boss dsi-1 , rat proco, phasor DOD, chorus danelectro , flanger ibanez , dd-3 boss , wha dunlop ¿modulation and distortion fx have to be conectet separetly ? when i conect them in the front, tha dfx of my amp doestn work . I hope you coul help me man ! thanks !!

  • no reverb?

  • I lol'd at the easy button

  • same here haha

  • what do you use to power them???

  • I recently picked up a Voodoo Pedal Power. See my "Jam Space" video for more.

  • Blah. Let us hear it already.

  • nice setup man, btw arent you supposed to put all your "noisy" pedals through the supressor to get rid of the fuzz?

  • Yes. I have recently reworked my board. Updated version can be found in the "Jam Space Tour" video *first response shown above).

  • with the noise suppressor does it get rid of noise coz i got a flanger pedal and when its off i can hear it

  • It gets rid of noise when you are not playing, yes.

  • whats an easy buton

  • It is just a joke. An office supply store sells them here in the US as a gag.

  • lmao

    easy button

  • This may sound dumb but what's the shure do?

  • Not dumb at all. :) That is the receiver for the wireless bodypack attached to the guitar.

  • do a demo of the easy button.. i gotta see how it works

  • i want the easy button

  • Oh, and it's nice to see someone who doesn't have the L6 DL4

    :)

  • yeah, the Boss DD-7 has everything that the L6 DL4 has for half the price

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • THE EASY BUTTON.

    I love you.

  • Are you using Marshall MG 15 DFX ? ?

  • Just to demo the board. ;)

  • Boss makes good entry level effects... and they're pretty reliable, but if your tone is something your really trying to preserve, you may need to go for more high end pedals.. for things like true by pass, signal preservation, and true blending. ( actual blending of original signal with converted signal..not replacing true signal with converted signal as is the case of alot of overdrives, delays, distortions..etc) Theres a reason alot of other pedals cost more. Great work on the board!!!

  • true-bypass is a must for me. I had to modify my wah for it.

  • yeah.. I have two.. a fulltone Clyde, and the usual Crybaby... the Clyde is true by pass.. the crybaby needs to be modded for tue by pass.

  • You realize that the more pedals you use, the more you need pedals that have a buffered bypass?

  • you know that the EVH wah from Dunlop is actually true bypass outta the box? it sounds amazing too man

  • apparently you speak in a B

  • You should modify the easy button to a true bypass button

  • I lol'd when I saw the easy button.

I want to get a BOSS Chorus Ensemble, but I wasn't sure which one I should get, the CE5 OR CE20. Obviously the CE20 has more effects, but is it worth getting if I am just an intermediate player?

  • I had the CE5 previously and loved it too. The main problem with the CE20 is obviously the price. You'll probably be fine with the CE5. If you find yourself wanting more after that, then you can think about moving up to the 20, but it should be great for you.

  • Thank you! BTW, where and how much would it cost to buy some really short cables? About 6 inch maybe. I think I saw them in your video.

  • One of my local Best Buy stores is a test market for an instruments department. The actually have some really great gear. I got the patch cables there. I believe they are Hossa brand (Monster was too expensive).

  • Thank you very much for all the help!

  • dont get a boss chorus they are kinda thin compared to MXR and Hardwire

  • does it not make more sense to have your loop pedal before all of your effects?

  • No, because then the Drum Tracks are subject to all of the effects (Distortion/Chorus/Phaser/etc). You want it to be last, unless you aren't using the Drum Tracks I suppose.

  • i dont get it
