Hi, I'm moving from Philadelphia to Northside Ephrata Township near the Green Dragon in Sept 2011. I have a old CB Antenna on my Chimmey now which I want to take down and replace with an HDTV Antenna. Is there anyone in town who does these installations or is this a DYS project only? Also do you receive any channels from Philadelphia... I'm wondering if I'll be able to see my phillies on free TV? Also did you only shop at Radio Shack for the antenna?
You forgot to mention that over the air digital quality is better than cable. Also, just about anyone can build an antenna inexpensively, and easily that will at least rival, and probably exceed the reception of most commercial antennas. There are some good vids on utube about it.
Hi, I ran the tvfool report for your area and saw that you should have 3 high VHF channels including the local ABC affiliate. The C4 is designed for UHF channels. You need to consider adding a high VHF antenna, like a Antennas Direct C5, or a AntennaCraft Y5-7-13 to your system. If you have other questions please come see us at dtvusaforum.
Internet is killing cable companies I read somewhere that they lost 18 percent of their subscribers in 2010.I live in central PA and get 9 OTA channels 4 of which are HD.
@Fred7038 I recently bought a mac mini computer & hooked it up to my TV. I also have an EYETV hooked up to it to use as a DVR for the OTA channels. The Apple bluetooth keyboard + trackpad make it very easy to peruse the Hulu content from the comfort of my sofa. Directv & Dish network just raised their rates 4 %. They can all go pound sand.
