Once a Russian always a Russian. I live in the states, but everytime I hear this it makes my hair standup on back of my neck. There's something powerful and connection like feeling I can't describe. And you damn straight makes me proud :D Russian anthem, my anthem is the most beatiful in the world. I will join it with the same respect as the Star Spangled Banner!

very impressive I have heard this done live while over there a few years ago at a Soviet war memorial this is in the Kremlin in Moscow I assume I heard it I believe in Kazan if I remember right and this came the front but my Russian is a bit rough still was this the current one or the old Soviet one

@gaycowboy31 The year 2005 (that same year as my brother"s graduation) was that Victory Day parade you are most likely talking about and when they sang it accapelo at the Red Square. It was done by the same group of people that you see here! Well, the smaller part of it... =)

@native73 thats cool i did not make it to Russia until 2008 the first time and again in 2009 but i do recal hearing it don live like this somewhere I would love to see one of the may day parades I only got shots inside the Kremlin one time on my first visit when I went back in 2009 they wouldnt let me in the Kremlin because I shoot with a Profeshinal Camra since I used to do that full time they told me I could go through if I left my camra I said no so I went and shot Red Square instead

Every time , I hear this absolutely beautiful theme, tears come to my eyes, when I think of all the suffering , the russian people had to endure... incalculable suffering at that .. my heart sings along this beautiful song for them too. I believe that the present Russian national anthem was originally called "The Submachine Gunner's Song" and was first published in the winter of 1942, at around the time of the Battle of Stalingrad, and was very definitely intended to be sung by a male chorus.

It embodies the indomitable spirit of Russian patriotism that first held back the tide of Fascist aggression and ultimately crushed the Nazi regime, despite huge losses and incredible suffering.

Oh, yeah!It's been changed for awhile already. I am surprised that not knowing the language you would be able to notice there is a difference :)Well... they had to change anything connected with the Soviet Union period and make it more of a Russian federation content rather then the one about a union of different republics. Pure logic...
