SCI-FI is one of my favorite movie genres but such "Shame" like this one make it look cheaper and stupid. First of all, the storyline looks like The Core's rip off but with much lower budget. The acting was more wooden than a sequoia. Terry David Mulligan was the only one good thing here. OK, Holly Dignard was bearable too. Visual effects were laughable

There is no way that a diesel powered submarine could make it from the West Coast to the Marianas Trench on the other side of the Pacific Ocean as fast as it did in the film. There is also no way that a diesel submarine could go down to within 100 ft of the bottom of the ocean where the depth is 10,911 meters or 35,798 feet.
A military submarine can dive to a depth of 1000-1500 feet. No deeper!
and don't forget Diesel fueled cars. they will run as long as they are not computer controlled warm up. in some high-tech scenarios it pays to be low tech.
Not true. Induction produces voltage in simple wire when an EM field passes over it (or the wire passes through the field). Thus, there would be what amounts to lightning in a car's wiring as the field hit, at the very least blowing fuses, if not melting wiring together. The only electrical devices that don't suffer this fate are vacuum tubes, whose metal components are too small to generate massive voltages, and they can be power cycled like you describe to restore function.

Sure it can :) As long as the electric instrument (such as many parts of the car) aren't on in the exact moment the EMP hits, they wont be damaged ;)
