  • 74 people should fuck off home

  • my all time most watched video !!!! woodstock forever =D

  • I was 10 years old and Alvin Lee was a fucking god

  • 74 people don't go home

  • HOW I WISH I WENT TO WOODSTOCK!!!!! :( but thank god for recordings :D

  • this is real rock!

  • audible speed

  • "Look out baby I'm comin' to getcha one more time..." - truly one of the greatest live guitar riffs of all time. This blew us away back in the day.

  • I seen them in 1971 I believe it was in St. Pete, Fl @ the Bayfront Center

  • take that fuckin bass line for a walk

  • best rock song ever

  • I grew up with this MUSIC and I still Love it !! I also love todays music too.. I would like to see LADY GAGA attempt to do this song. I Love Lady GAGA do you think she could pull it off?

  • Sounds TERRIFFIC - even 40 years later and sober!

  • NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL GODDAMNED FUCKING REAL MUSIC!!

  • @geertwildersful

    YES IT IS !!!!!

  • @geertwildersful "Quite the vocabulary there, sonny-boy!"

  • @01vaughanfan thx mate!

  • @geertwildersful i respect you and your music likings =) i looked at the top hits on itunes and listeneed to some of them and thought to myself..."i wouldn't put this shit on my ipod for a million dollars...."

  • @godsmack666100 no computershit just pure music made with instruments..this is all time music and it will be playeg forever because some people know what real music is!

    modern music is crap

  • @geertwildersful

Modern music is just as good as this , all you know is just the commercial stuff from today ;)

  • @dudefrombelgium i dont listen to justin bieber or ryhanna or birdy...that is no music! they dont even know what a plectrum is!!! and there for they are not a musician and they can not make music!!!

  • @geertwildersful

Rihanna made a few good songs to be honest , And justin bieber would make good music if he didnt listen to his managers.

AND OFCOURSE THEY KNOW WHAT A PLECTRUM IS ?ESPECCIALY BIEBER CUS HE PLAYS GUITAR YO FOOL :P

  • @geertwildersful

Again , You only know the popular stuff.

if i would ask you about DarkPsy or GOA or Venatian Snares then you wouldnt know what i was talking about, Music is timeless and every time has his music (good and bad)

I mean not all music in the 60 and 70's was great you know , you had a lot of kids listening to total crap.

  • Oh boy...another conspiracy theory neo-fascist ignorant slob...go watch Alex Jones and worship Ron Paul (a professional liar and professional politician). Your arrogance is only overshadowed by your ignorance. Have a nice life, I don't debate fascists.

  • @cabalaautobody Yeah you're right. Conspiracies never happen, everything occurs because of random chance. And of course Oswald killed JFK, Ray killed MLK and Sirhan Sirhan killed RFK. And the WMD's not found in Iraq are actually up Bill O'Reilly's ass. Quit being an advocate for stupidity and get a life.

  • i like that watermelon at the end and how Alvin pick it up!!!Alvin forever!!!

  • I heard this in the late 70's at age 15 and was blown away and loved it for years. It would always get the adrenaline pumping. I listen now and I think it's pretty average. The drumming with that constant splash cymbal and Lee's tone and playing don't get me excited anymore. It's fast but not good fast.

  • 72 people are not going home.

  • I Love it - This is a great song for a BIRTHDAY - Mine YAY!!!! I think I have this ALBUM (yes in VINYL)

  • In '69 I was 17 and hitched to Vancouver Island, carrying the 5 bucks in my pocket, a block of cheese and a loaf of bread. I had the time of my life, but still kick myself for not heading East

and going to Woodstock. Who knew there would be so many groovy people, all hanging out

and loving each other. 500,000 people felt the love in the air for three blessed days. Ten Years

After used to really rock! Cricklewood Green is my favourite. Cricklewood is a neighborhood Green is the weed that grew thr

  • Regarding the comments below on where Alvin Lee stands... They are ALL great guitar players... including Alvin Lee. The best thing that can be said is that they all had their own sound. No two players on that list sounded alike. They are all unique in their own way. Unlike today's guitar players that were all taken from the same mold. Enjoy them all...

  • The man was AWESOME. Great stuff.

  • @ricronin I bet he can still turn it on if he gets in the mood.

  • I was playing guitar a bit back, then, and I recall that around 1969, we weren't very impressed with Alvin Lee -- he was fast, but no taste - after listening to Hendrix, Clapton, Harrison, Garcia, Kaukonen, Page, etc, AL just didn't seem very engaging once the flash wore off.

  • @georgef1776 I saw all those you mentioned in concert and remember all of us thinking Alvin Lee was as good or better than those on your list. He was more than flash in our humble opinion.

  • @goodthing52 I am sooo jealous. I also want to see those in concert. Especially Harrison (<3 beatles) and hendrix! Such a pitty Hendrix was long gone when I was born and Harrison died when I was 7. Damn I'm really jealous.

  • @paulv3rm3ul3n Don't be jealous. the hippies were the biggest hippocrites ever. if you didn't do or like all the things they were into, you were nothing. the music was fantastic! the people weren't.

  • @rambler651 You sound like what we would call a wet head back then. A true redneck. Drowning in your booze.Thank God there wasnt a bunch of your type at Woodstock. It never would have happened.

  • @rambler651 I don't say I want hippies, but I do want that music!

  • @georgef1776 Oh, Please. What's wrong with 'A Space In Time' or 'Cricklewood Green' and Live at the Filmore?

  • This is the first moment in punk. Fuck you for saying otherwise.

  • Alvin ROCKS!

  • did I studder?

  • Fuck Obama and Marxism

  • @Syzygy60 Obama and Marxism is a contradiction in terms! Obama is not even liberal. It seems you don;t know crap about political theory. Crack a book, dummy!

  • @lapwiz Shut your mouth dummy. This thread is about Rock n Roll

  • @Starpass Put the crack pipe down, stupid! What did I say, genius?

  • @lapwiz You implied that you knew a lot about Poo litics. Obama is a puppet that the Elite are using to help create their NWO. You told Syzygy60 that he knows nothing of Poo litics.

I just told you what politics is all about, yet you tell me to 'put the crack pipe down' and said I was stupid. You are the one who is stupid, with your tiny little mind closed like so many others. Wake up and smell the Fascism buddy. Power and politics mostly corrupts although I like Ron Paul is saying.

  • same reason MIchigan Conservatives Not Commies

    We are an American Band

  • and why for Gods sake wasn't Grand Funk Railroad invited?

  • @Syzygy60 Because the arrangers did not like them?

  • alvin Lee represented Uncle Ted Nugent who Liberals would not invite, they were afraid of Ted

  • Hippies aren't same as they were

  • saw the woodstock movie in 70 the sound quit at the beginning of this song,of course someone hollered "the sound comes ten years after!!"

  • tried and missed but in my heart I was there, roll one for all the lost and the best.

  • Voici le 3001 éme commentaires! The Best songs of Ten Years After.

  • Ten Years After - "Parchment Farm" is great too. The problem with today's music is that they forgot how to boogie, they lost the soul they got from the gospel music, and they lost the down home Hank Williams country vibe.

  • actually I got it wrong - the good version of Parchman Farm is by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.

  • he picks up a watermelon and carries it off when he's done. unreal.

  • baddest tune, played, at original first woodstock!/wynn

  • @teleevangelist fuck u on about son?

  • Awesome performance, thanks for the video upload! I have the DVD & VHS too, but sometimes I want to watch it on PC & share it, just fell in love with Alvin, his vocals, his guitar, his songwriting, his blues. Glad he's still around & making fantastic music still, as always. Hope to get to see him LIVE someday.

  • this just never gets old. i have heard it a gazillion kazillion times and it's always fresh and new and mind blowing!

  • yngue or how ever you spell move over for the fastest guitar

  • i came :D

  • Fastest axe in 1969.

  • God bless juke joint rhythm and blues

  • Increible, han pasado mucho tiempo y la musica sigue vigente, con su magia , creativa... Peor lo mas alucinante son la reminiscencas cuando era un adolescente...

  • Saw Woodstock the first time in my early 20s in 1970 at the University of Texas student union theater for about 50 cents. This song has stuck with me for decades, what a performance! There is nothing like this happening now.

  • when I search this up, fucking Chris Daughrty shouldnt be first over Ten Years After

  • nobody says anything about the bass player.i will say he's one of the best ever.

  • I CANT FUCKIN GET THIS LOUD ENOUGH

  • This was back in the groovey times when everyone groked the word agápē in complete fulllness.

  • No wonder we are brain dead now. We kicked ass in the 60's & 70's though, didn't we!!!

  • I journeyed through most of it and came out and actually remembered some of it too.

  • This a greatest!

  • I was there, honest. This was unforgettable!

  • @Mrjtoomuch your so lucky, i would have literally given anything to have been there

  • In a interview Alvin Lee did, he said before they went on, he had run out of cigarettes and there was none backstage. So he went out in the crowd for a couple hours to find some.Didnt come back with any cigarettes but did come back with about 16 joints. People didnt recognize him while walking around. I miss the 60s.

  • SUPERBE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is what we called music !!

  • Anyone know how to get that tone on Alvin's guitar? I have a VoxVT30 and copy off strat. I probably need a tube amp huh.

  • @TheGooeyOne28 you want a transmodembraincloggerRT343 if its not available a RT322 will work if that doesn't your screwed ...take up bowling or drugs .

  • @TheGooeyOne28 No, you need his hands.

  • @forthebirdsNL This is true!

  • Alvin is up there with the best ie: Rory Gallgher, Hendrix, Duane, Winter, Stevie Ray etc... How can any one say there is a best. There are or were so many

  • Back when Alvin was still doing crystal meth

  • arriba peruuu

  • The hilite of Woodstock.

  • this is pure sex

  • One Of The Best Songs Ever Made,Awesome My Friends.......

  • i wouldnt be surprised if big red just caught fire in the middle of the song. you rock man, alvin. so underated. it sucks that they broke up i dont like that joe gooch one bit. just hope alvin and co will reunite i no it will happen, eventualy....

  • Thank's you so much,Alvin, to come in Canada, in Québec Citys, and play Hey Joe, at the Bar Univers, downtown Québec, in 1983, maybee...

You know, Hey Joe, is my favorite song of Jimmy Hendrix...

    Thank's.

  • i can't believe that his guitar wasn't laying in shreds after this.

  • Mr Lee I posted a little explanation on ur anger plz c it. Don't be prejudice.

  • I never thought of it that way,,, going in reverse...

  • what a nice trip back in time. almost feels like being in high school again.....

  • Mytique.

    "Le Péril Jeune". ♥

  • I was in High School in 1969. I was lucky to be at Woodstock 1969. I KNOW BEYOND THE SHADOW OF ANY DOUBT that my generation, the Baby Boomers, created the greatest rock bands, the greatest Rock Artists, and the greatest Rock music of all times! The music today sucks and is lower than runny rotten foul maggot filled shit!

  • @theundercoveratheist Sorry you feel that way.Theres still plenty of good music being made these days.If you are talking about top 40 pop then I agree with you.

  • @theundercoveratheist

To say of all time isn't fair for future artists, for up incoming people. I was born in 88' I realize that some of the music of today is bad, trust me I know. But with new music genres being born every couple years with amazing artists rising out of nowhere, the horizon of music is expanding at an alarming rate. Think about the last 60 years of rock n roll, it's insane how much its changed. All I am saying is to call Alvin the greatest ever is wrong, better then beiber

  • @theundercoveratheist Damn straight!

  • I was in the Navy, in Memphis, in 69 - couldn't make it to Woodstock. Bummer. Did see Iron Butterfly live in Memphis and one of my flight crew knew the drummer, so we got to go see them warm up. They started their performance with Soul Experience. Wow!

  • @theundercoveratheist Music today don't suck, get interested instead of critisizing

  • @Guillaume15041996 Yes, sonny; it does. As much as I try to like it all I get is a headache.

  • @theundercoveratheist There is good music still, it's just rarer and harder to find seeing as they don't get anywhere near the coverage that all the cheesy pop and r&b/rap (i like some modern rap and r&b) acts get.

  • @theundercoveratheist HOW ABOUT SAYING TODAYS MUSIC IS LOWER THAN WHALE POOP AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DEEPEST PART OF EARTH'S OCEANS!

  • still the defining word on the 2nd british invasion.

  • 20 ans après avoir découvert ce morceau , ça me file toujours autant de frissons !

  • Best of the best !!

  • great stuff no matter how many times you watch this video and listen to it, that's the high bar young guitarist's have to reach, where are the rock band's? watch ,listen and practice.

  • at least Lady GaGa is a metal fan I`ll give her that

  • Yes!! Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber that´s for You. GO HOME !!

  • kind of a drag that I can't find anything that I like in 2011. It almost feels like everything is already been put on my plate..thats it!!

  • Gimme some of that Boogie Woogie yeah :)

  • 69 dislikes are Bieber fans, which is what J.B.`s dad should have done instead of putting that load in there, lol

  • That is some serious Guitar shredding.

  • Alvin Lee is really an inspiration to me and he's so underrated! Most of the younger guitarists I know have never even heard of him.

  • This is some good shit!

  • Comment removed

  • I saw Ten Years After 7 times and never did the band turn in a lame or uninspired performance. I saw Alvin break a string in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, change the string while the band kept time, then he finished the song. I've seen every band from The Stones twice, Zeppelin 9 times, Queen 5 times, and 143 other great bands in the 40 years from the 60's to 2000 and TYA was one of the very best.

  • @IAMJ2U I would kill to see TYA Zeppelin and The Stones...

I can say that you had a beautifull life if it comes to seeing musicall genius

Damn Zeppelin live.. thats like finding the lost arc these days

  • I played these Woodstock 8-tracks @ full blast in my '64 VW, everyday in the Summer of 1970! (I had a peace sign sticker on the back!) ..Got drafted in '72.

  • Leo Lyons Is Priceless in this Recording

  • Is there any other song by Ten Years After caught on tape or video from Woodstock 69? Please let me know. Thank you.

  • his guitar licks...

  • hey dazu hab ich gerockt als jugentlicher

    ww sozialart jimdo com

  • One of the best guitar pieces ever!! 3,056,768 hits cant be wrong..............

  • Definitly I was born in wrong time...

  • saw them at the old Ally Pally in '73 and when they did this the place went beserk..one of the best guitarists of all time..

  • many trips comes on my mind when i listen after this part... 4:48

  • masterpiece

  • After this gig-- at the end of which, *someone* rolled a watermelon up on stage-- future crowds at TYA shows started rolling LOTS of them onto the stage at the end..like 100's, til there was no way to deal with all the melons..

  • But woodstock is already the greatest thing ever.

  • Man the only way woodstock could have been better is if Zeppelin was there.

  • They don't do it like this anymore..

  • That's still great. Even Fifty Years After.

  • Awesome, perfect !

  • in a word AWESOME !!!

  • c'est trop bon voila du putin de bon vieux rock est pas la merde qui nous sorte maintenant comme jhonny et toute la clique

  • THAT boys and girls is how to kick an audiences ass.

  • I'm 17 and listen this fantastic music

  • @sirPage94 And?

  • @sirPage94 - That's how old I was when I first hear 10 Years After {Elvis}.. (if not younger)..So, you may still be listening to this 25 years from now! :o)

  • Gotta love that Gibson- 335!!!

  • Saw Ten Years After in Bham Al in 1972. Alvin Lee is in the top 10 guitarists of all time.

  • Alvin momentarily opened his eyes @ 7:47.Talk about playing in your sleep !!!

  • 1 word for this guy : WOW!

  • test

  • It's not just Alvin not getting his props from the mainstream but the entire band itself! Just listen how tight they always are.The band alway comes first, and TYA has always done just that, so simply fuck the mainstream cuz it's always the music that lives on and not the hype. Maybe it's going to be Hundred Years After cuz they'll still be diggin' it then!

  • Fucking a, Rolling Stones magazine is fucked up when a great guitar player isn't even in teh top 100. I think those rummies had their heads in their ass. Shit man, Alvin Lee should have made the top ten. Cleartwater.

  • Intro well fuck, this man could play a guitar. Fastest guitar player I've ever seen period. The chords and nots and licks are perfect. Pershing Auditorium July 1970 was awesome. When he played this song all hel broke loose. Chairs were flying and I got hit in the head and knocked out, after I woke up I got busted for having a tin of joints in my pocket. Needless to day the Lincoln police were stupid assholes and let me go with the Dope. Great concert. Cleartwater.

  • The math has it from the response to this video that a little over 99% of the listener have at least one good ear for frigging real hot absolutely cooking rock n roll. I'm real sorry for those 1%. Maybe someone could start a web site for donations for their invalidism? Now that's what's called saving the planet!

  • Rolling Stone Magazine (Dec 2011) listed the 100 Greatest Guitarist of All-Time:Alvin Lee wasn't included! What's that one about the one-eared man being a king in the land of the deaf. This king ought to help out all those who voted in this Rolling Stone whatever-you-want-to-call-it!

  • @raymind1313 Why do you even give those idiots the time of day?.Who the fuck died and made them experts?!.So they have a magazine. That makes them experts??!!.FUCK THAT!!.I looked at those ratings once, and laughed my ass off!...I do my own rating!.Guaranteed, Alvin couldn't give two shits, himself...TYA is about the music; not popularity contests..IMO, if you're putting people in numerical ratings order, that's a clear indication to me, that you know less than shit about music.

  • @cheezer57 They're not idiots just mainstream-many of the voters were accomplised musicians, whether you or I even dig their music. I don't know what makes anyone a music expert, I was just the messenger and am sorry this offended you so much.TYA is more than only the music, but about TOO MUCH MUSIC. A big reason they've never been embrace by the mainstream as other bands have. I've dug them for over 40yrs and that's that-and don't give two shits about your perceived indications of me!

  • I was 11 living in pakistan listening to this. and all the other rock groups. Best music ever

  • assisti o woodstock em vídeocassete e adorei. Mas esse conjunto o que mais gostei. Pelo

    cantor e sua guitarra

  • and forty years after :o((((((

  • DEEP PURPLE SE ROBO LA INTRO PARA LAZY

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON ?!?!?!?!?

  • OMG. Glad I stumbled upon this. old school rock for shire!!!

  • .....holy shit, what the fuck just happened? why is todays music shit? evolution is going in reverse with music

  • absolutely right. if you want to hear classic Ten Years after listen to WATT

    this is classic rock music

  • Not all today's music is shit! Mainstream music for the masses is shit.

  • @papashmerf LOL Because we are their parents. That's why their music is shit. We didn't do a good job.

p.s. Alvin Lee's face always scared me. Wonder what he looks like now.

  • @papashmerf amen brother, darwin would turning over in his grave

  • @papashmerf todays music shit!? dude, you should listen more todays music then...

  • @papashmerf That's so sad and so true ...

  • @papashmerf Drug laws happened.

  • @papashmerf dude....that is just about one the best no BS comments on today's music!! Kool.

  • ONCE AGAIN WHEN I WATCH THIS VIDEO THE POSITIVE ENERGY FLOW WHICH COMES WITHIN ALVIN IS ABSORBED AND GIVES ME THE MOTIVATION I NEED WHEN I FEEL LIKE THE WORLD HAS CONSUMED ME. A PRIME EXAMPLE OF HOW A REAL MUSICIAN CAN CHANGE A PERSON'S

SPIRIT. THANK GOD THIS ONE IS FOR THE GOOD. THANK YOU FOR YOU.

  • I saw this a million years ago (did not go to woodstock, saw the movie when it was released), and it is still as FANTASTIC as the first time I heard it!!! Bought all the 10 Years After stuff I could find the very next day. I gotta say that we, and Alvin Lee, were gyped by RS magazine for his not being included in the 100 Best Guitarists.... Cancel your subscription! ;-)

  • Génial!

  • As one who was there, at the beginning of rock n roll; i can yoiu, this is what it was/is all about. One of the top 10 performances in rock.

  • The bass player is Alvin Lee's brother. If you liked this try "My Baby Left Me" by TYA

  • @nightprowlerful The bassist is Leo Lyons and Ric Lee was their drummer and no relation to Alvin...Chick Churchill on Keys.
