@DrummingMonkey13 , I think it would kill the amp first. From my understanding synth stuff should be ran through a bass amp, although i don't think it matters on low volumes as he is doing.
the gameboy camera... my favorite musical tool... the fact it has so many tracks, from the start screen to the screen where you choose the music for "your slideshow" AND the DJ part, i'd say that this is a great game to use while circuit bent!
Its not for sale quite yet, there a few kinks in the design. The pitch range needs tweaking, but the PCB for the module is created. Soon I will have already modded GameBoys and Module Kits for sale on GetLoFi. Thanks for the interest.
You're missing the point. This could be Nanoloop or LSDJ playing whatever "original music" you want.
Beatmatching in hardware isn't exactly as trivial as it is with Ableton, there needs to be a more analog way to control the tempo. It is entirelly possibly to have a tempo of 122.5BPM. With this mod, much like a turntable pitch slider, you can get virtually any tempo/pitch you want.
LOL that's pretty sick dude

yeah but you're not making any effort to create any beat or musical phrase, you're just changing the pitch and the tempo of the game boy music
superhappyboss 3 years ago
Well, this is a technical demo of the fact that you can pitch down a GameBoy, not a musical performance per se.
The merits of changing the tempo/pitch of existing music or sounds I don't really feel the need to explain.
