  • Great song! Thanks for posting it! I'm glad we still have the freedom to listen to it unlike Russia. However, we are quickly becoming another communist country where are freedoms are slowing disappearing due to the socialist in power. Thanks again!

  • Never mind the bass drum critique - I first got this record when I was 13...this mix is perfect!! :))))))))))))0

  • This is a fantastic piece. I recal when my friends and I first heard it and we we kind of turned and looked wide eyed at each other, like WOW! ABBA had reached a point of refinement and maturity in their work that was even better than their early stuff. What I would not give to have another ten years of material from them to enjoy.

  • @billybareblu Hell yeah. From about 'Summer Night City' onwards there was NO even slightly weak track and their last songs were killer. Far from being the poppy forever smiley puppets fickle people desire, their work as true artists changes and develops to suit themselves as much as the times. Heartbreakers and great stories are far more important all that simple Kylie love you crap. 'This song, its parent album and their last batch, esp 'Cassandra', 'You Owe Me One' and 'I Am The City'-class!

  • Lyssna på den här versionen

  • Forget the remix, it just has a fast beat from the original,

This is a song of a persons breakdown, and typical abba they made it real.

While my perfect dream would to see Abba, and to recreate it again (What sounds simple - is'n't) It is not going to happen for oh so many reasons

  • LOVE IT!!!!!! There was a DJ at the Stark Club Dallas that had an amazing mix, this is close. Thanks for the pleasure of the memory.

  • cool i looove ABBA

  • This is just amazing, I'm speechless. Thanks so much. I wasn't a big ABBA fan back in the day. I did like the few songs I heard by them on the radio here in the US, but I had no idea what they were about or how diverse their music was. I'm reacquainting myself with them now thru youtube and the internet. Plan on purchasing a collection of their recordings now!

Just for grins (not that it's really needed) I opened up two browsers and synced this mix on both. Double whammy sound!! :-)

  • @pauljc45 No offence but I don't see how hard it is to understand Abba's songs. The US is terrible for offloading its often banal, MOR power-balladeering, naff hip-hop and plastic barbie Britneys, wailing Mariahs and derivative attention seeking Madonnas on us, ditto the male groups too, yet they never seem to want all the truly great original stuff that Abba and the majority of the 80s artists were making-and still make today. It seems to me the US is terribly narrow-minded in this way, sorry.

  • @TheMjblades Sorry, you misunderstood me. My comment "no idea what they were about" just means I didn't follow Abba and didn't know much about "them", not referring to their music. Agree about US music today, all about show these days, no talent. I think the reason is that right now we're in a dry spell as far as having good song writers.

  • Their best album for me and their swan song.

  • I always thought this was an unlike ABBA song at the time. I remember playing this track to some of my friends that didn't like ABBA and they liked the track and then i told them it was ABBA and they were surprised.

  • LOL Meadeser, you sound a lot like me.

    I love this song!

I've done the same thing with Ace of Base's song "Da Capo"...when i play for ppl who hate them, they are surprised and can't believe it's them.

I LOVE ABBA AND ACE OF BASE! GO SWEDEN!

  • @gamez100 So do i! My 2 forever "abbas one from the 70s and the other from the 90s" yeaah

  • Hey Jim, any idea who has lead vocals on this one?

  • Frida has the lead vocals on this gem!

    Peace...Jim~

  • Ok cool. It's just kinda hard to tell.

  • True. Firda did GREAT here.

  • One of the most addictive beats I have ever heard and one of my most favorite songs of all times.

However, this bass beat needs to be slowed down a bit as it sounds 'rushed,' like a speeded up 33 1/3 record.

  • I assume that's a product of the remixing process. While I'm not a fan of remixes, I try to show the differences between the two songs. I agree though, listen to this song at the regular speed and you'll be hooked! Thanks for looking in.

    Peace...Jim~

  • Of course, you know more about it than I do, but "hooked" is correct. This song is like an IV through the ears. Thanks for your time and effort. Nice job.

  • Thanks for taking the time to stop by and enjoying...I've covered almost all of their work ..before and after ABBA!

    As always...Peace...JIm~

  • This was ABBA's best song by a long shot. And that's coming from a huge fan!

    Great mix, thankyou.

  • sounds awesome through my Sony STR-DE 697 7CH Amplifier

  • Wow a wonderfull mix :D

I really love it!! now I them moving...

But I never heard something about aliens...

I thought the song deals with the situation with the sovjet union...

But to the song: very nice uptempo Mix *_*

ouuuh and discussions... look at the comments of my pick a bale of cotton mix.. there's a very hot discussion ...

  • I really like this remix, and the video that goes with it is top notch as well!! I know you said that you dont want any political comments on this video, but in my opinion, the sirens in the beginning may be signalling the authorities, and this remix is very faced pace, perhaps they are running away from them as well. Just my interpretation, though. The beauty of music is that it can have several interpretations, and my views may not be shared by others. Thanks again for this splendid remix!

  • I appreciate all comments as long as it doesn't turn into a heated debate politically speaking! I posted this video for people to watch and enjoy, not to use as a political forum that's at their disposal! People will see this and not want to comment as they would be afraid that their comment would get lost in the shuffle. Thanks for looking in.

    Peace, Jim~

  • Love it. Thanks!

  • Brilliant remix!!

In the ABBA Anual 1982 the theory from Bjorn himself is about mental illness! He goes onto say she had to rest her voice for 15 days before recording this!

  • ill just stick to aleins theme !lol didn't know it was poltical still !abba greatest band ever !

  • Good morning from my end Jen. I agree, while I appreciate all the comments some go out of their way to just be to political. Some to the point of ignoring the video altogether and just pushing their views on all of us. My point is just this....that this is only a video not a politician's blog. Thank you...is that a spaceship up there? To quote a phrase I first uttered by Abbadabbadoo7(Shawn, now 7abba7)ABBA ROCKS!

    Peace, Jim~

  • Almost sounds like you got a little help from Mr. Tretow himself...awesome!

  • One never knows do they.....Thank you, this is definitly a top 5 video out of all the one's I've done.

    Peace, Jim~

  • hey, it's really cool !

  • ji61m Thanks for sending them to me you did a great job! I alway,s had this thing for Agnetha

  • this is great jim, I don't have the remixes, so what a treat, and is it just me or does frida kinda sound like she is using a russian accent for this?

  • What a cool remix Jim!I loved this as usual.

  • Wow Jim! I just sat back and enjoyed the "ride" on this unbeliveable slide show you have done to this great tune! You are definatly the "master" with the effects on WMM! You have done your homework on this one for sure! Just beautiful beyond words my friend! Thanks for your hard work!

    -Dallas

  • Thanks Dallas. This was without a doubt my biggest(and toughest)video to do! I uploaded it in wmv instead of flash video, it gave it a much better quality and the effects turned out great. If you watch this in full screen, Frida's red hair in the color pics looks like it's on fire! The downside was it took over 2 hours to upload. Then my ethernet went down and I had to start the upload over. All in all, about 9 hours to finish. All the pics were from 1981, the same year this album was released.

  • The best compliment I can give you, Jim, is that I really am not a Visitors fan (it just doesn't "sound" like ABBA to me), but I absolutely love this video.

Well worth the time/effort- great job.....

  • Thanks Matt. Even with Abba, you'll always find something that people don't care for. But that's the great thing about Abba, they appeal to so many people in so many different ways, that there is always room to form opinions about the type of music they play. Their music reached such a wide range of fans, that there was always something for everyone. I appreciate the comment, this baby was a big one to get finished.

    Peace, Jim~

  • Jim,you are too clever. The air raid sirens and explosions in the background really set the stage for this songs purpose. Good work!

  • Hey Rob, how are ya? You know, as much as I would like to take the credit for the sirens and explosions, they were all part of the remix. But I did try to find some animated air raid spot lights but just couldn't find any! Thanks.

  • wow cool remix of this fab song Jim!! I love it. and good job finding all the pics!

  • Thanks Elin. This big boy took almost 2 hours to upload the wmv file. I chose not to use AVC for this one because I didn't want fuzzy pictures and I didn't want the effects to get all washed out. Raw wmv files are so much better quality, but you sacrifice quick upload times. All the pictures are from 1981 so they would fit the video's time frame.

  • Yes Bill, you're the first, and I think that I might have just got it posted shortly before you gave it a look. I finally got it all into place at 4:30am (my time Sunday morning) Definitly my biggest, and I'm a little tired after this one. Thanks Bill!

  • This has come out alot clearer Jim

Love those 'arty' effects Good remix too, this is a popular one for you Jim

  • Thanks Shay. This was my biggest project to date. I spent almost 10 hours making this video, with a big part of that time spent uploading it. At well over 500Mb, this song's WMV took well over two hours to upload! And on top of that, my ethernet cut out on me and I had to start the upload all over again. It was well past 4:30 am (my time) before I was able to get this posted. So I'm a little tired today, But I'm glad you like it!

  • Its a pain when it cuts out,but the quality is great here Jim, and it is over 8 mins so the average track should go up in half the time

  • Ever since I networked with my niece's computer upstairs, Whenever she turns her computer on or off I lose my ethernet and have no idea why. It's just something I've learned to live with, and occasionally it'll take a vacation all by itself like last nite. A real pain especially since my upload was half complete. I'm gonna try raising the bitrate on the AVC eventually, but I'm still a little gunshy after the previous video. Thanks for your help!

  • I used the short cut for better quality and stereo and it did not do anygood.....because it just dosen't get any better then this :) what a fantastic job Jim your really getting top notch with this 2nd 200

  • Yet another mix of this song. (sigh) One of my fave ABBA songs of all time. Jim, you sure did outdo yourself this time!

  • Is that a good sigh, or a bad sigh Sharon? I started at 6:00pm Saturday nite and didn't get this uploaded and all information in place until 4:30am Sunday morning! My biggest ever, but I really like how it turned out. Thanks Sharon,

ps, How are those new Monkees songs workin out for ya? If you need any songs off the Brian May Red Album, let me know!

  • Oh no, that's a good sigh, Jim! I'll take this song any way I can get it! Are you using a different program to make your videos or something? Your newer videos seem different somehow... they keep getting better and better!

  • No different program Sharon, I'm just making Movie Maker earn it's keep! If you mess around with the different effects, you can create different looks. Were you aware that you can stack effects on top of one another. You can wind up with some wild looking vids. I also try to use effects that eliminate the black framing around the pictures. I just want the picture, not the frame. If you push MM, you can do neat things. Thanks Sharon, I appreciate that.

  • Another nice one Jim and looks like I have beaten the sleepy heads to it!!!

    Kind regards Bill
