yes i will grow old... feeble and sick someday but my father's words to me were.... the world does not owe you a living... never beg.. work hard while you are young and save what you could....having to depend on family and country is the biggest stupidity .. depend on no one but yourself.... the government does not provide welfare to the extent that Europe and America do... do you knw what kind of debts these countries have as a percentage of their GDP... who'll pay for them....?

Some fall through the crack despite having worked hard. It's hard to save because inflated hdb price took away most cpf.

the govt should provide welfare to Europe/US's extent. This has not and will not bankrupt any country. PAP is already collecting much more tax than Europe/USA, except that such tax are disguised as "hdb price" "cheap NS labour", "2nd highest electricity bill" "COE"

It takes a very selfish person to care only about himself and his family. A patriot cares for her fellow citizens. So the correct question to ask is:

What has he done to the poor, the aged, the disabled, the politicians who opposed him?

Ans: he did nothing for the 1st 3 grps, letting them suffer/die in a system with zero welfare, and for the last grp, he jailed one for 32 years and several for 20 years.

Why do u not hate such a person? Where is your sense of justice and patriotism?

perhaps i am selfish but i do really only care about my family and friends for I am not such a great person... when i do see poor folks I part with what I am able to dispense but frankly in singapore, such people are rare/.... have you lived in Cambodia or Vietnam before... thoses to me are real poverty

What have YOU done, save for ineffective direct charity to a few people?

Have you seen people who become poor through no fault of their own eg becoming disabled, struck by cancer, and thru govt's bad policy eg indiscriminate import of cheaper foreign labour? Surely you can pinpoint the govt for their plight.
