just an update for all who are looking to purchase one of these as a starter plane.
it is a terrific alround glider/fpv/general flyer . the first one with 36mhz set up was crap .out of range after 50 metres .the second one with 2.4ghz was heaps better but I still managed to lose it in the scrub do to pilot stupidity. found it 2 weeks later using an onboard camera and flying over the area where i lost it.
TIPS-simulator first, then extend elevator by double width .
my complaint is that its arf nor rtf and the assembly instructions SUCK and the instructions for the radio suck even more ...flys good though... when buying a spare bat purchase the connectors too ...another bullshit mistake ...more annoying than anything else
can someone tell me if a 5000kv brushless motor is too much for the Hawk sky? or a 3000kv is also too much. because i can get a 35 amp ESC along with a 5000kv or 3000kv motor please answer :)
My EZ Hawk seems to nose dive whenever I take off and my model seems to be overall nose heavy meaning I can't fly it. So can someone advise me on what to do if you have had the same problem.
I'v got the 4-channel version...but I rarely use the rudder. I have a 2100 MA battery instead of the stock 1800. I love flying this plane! I made it MUCH more impact resistant than stock though. See my channel for the vid...and I submit the vid here too...if you approve it. DHS is a blast! GET ONE. You won't be sorry.
@youhamza1 The GLIDER, generally has no motor and so longer wings to take advantage of thermals and hill updrafts to stay aloft...usually slower flight)... the AIRPLANE will have shorter wings/fuse due to it having a motor that gives it the speed the shorter control surfaces need to work well. And there is every kind of hybrid inbetween. parkzone Radian being an example of...as it is a glider with a motor. RC is very versatile. some people even put rc gear/motors on KITES!
@Benno36ify They sell for about $160 on eBay in Australia but you would be better of with the AXN Floater from Hobby King. The Hawk Sky has too many weak points at the nose (landing gear, servo mount, battery compartment, wing slot) so it breaks up after a few heavy landings or tip stalls (which this plane is very prone to).
The motor on my Hawk Sky went kaput after just a month! That yellow piece of tape fell off the mount and then it all went dead. I take it that was important?
i cant find this plane anywhere in italy, at least on the internet, can you NitroPlanes guys help me out with this? do you know anyone in my country distributing it thanks!!
@friedchicken1981 Hi Friedchicken1981, have you tried checking your local hobby stores? This happens to many of our customers. What our reps would advice is if you know someone who lives in the US, we can ship the product to them and then they can ship it to you. That is just a suggestion, decision is of course, up to you. Hope the information helped
@nitroplanes yeah ive thought of that, only shipping will cost me twice the price of the aircraft itself, i will keep looking around though, thank you for taking the time to answer me, regards (oh, you guys rock) :)
@Franjdea Hi Franjdea, the two plane's are both great products. It all depends on your personal preference and what you are looking for in a plane. Feel free to give us a call if you need assistance in finding the perfect plane to start your hobby, Franjdea! Our contact information is located on our site, nitroplanes . com. Hope the info helped and have a great one, Franjdea!
Your 2 high power motors hot glued to the front wing added significant performance. I suggest modifing the rear mount to accept 2 larger motors properly distanced & reverse wired. Mounting the motors behind the wing allows for a larger battery & ESC's in the nose w/ out counterbalancing weights thus retaining motor/prop safety. Two CF fiber tubes embedded under the wing may be needed near the leading & trailing edges. Disassembly would be lost but performance would be greatly enhanced.
@Shakzpvp make sure you turn the transmitter on before the plane. Make sure no frequency can interrupt the process. Then plug the battery into the plane and you should hear some beeps, once initialized you can move the servos and it should be well on its way to flying. If you have more issues I recommend that you move this to rcdiscuss . com
@monjon868 it should definitely get a much longer range than that. Did you extend the antenna out completely? Also make sure the Receiver Antenna is also extended. Also if there are other 72mhz on the same freq, it can interrupt the signals as well
@nitroplanes The setup I have is a 36mhz ,Dynam NE-ko4 transmitter and I am in a very remote part of Australia so Interference is definitely not the problem, I have even replaced the reciever wire completely and adjusted the lengths longer and shorter with no real difference. what distance should I expect with this setup?
@nitroplanes you guys should form a deal with him, you send him one of your plains, tell him to review it and stuff and kind of advertise for you, and maybe later if he wants, mod it to show its friendliness to very advanced flyers too or something
hey im 13 and got one for christmas...... best present ever!!!!!!! 2 days of practice and i can easily fly it high make loops and do simple tricks!! extremely fun!!
that puppy screams (sounds nice ) who thunk a big glider should have a screamin outrunner onnit?? good job! i put a 2600kv 11.1 30A on my wildhawk , havent gotten round to throwing it in the air yet -no ailerons - not gonna be either, i am too lazy - Dynam did it for me - thanks Dynam
would you say that this plane is basically asouped up wild hawk? Also is this plane faster/more aerobatic than the fms sky trainor? I plan on buying one of these planes, do you have an opinoin. Aslo they both use 1800mah 11.1 volt lipos right?
I know that the hawk sky has a brushless, but compared to the fms traionor, in your opinion wich do you think is more aerobatic. Also which is faster? Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately, no. It would have been a good one. Controller glitched and I was in a vertical dive at the time. I went straight down into stand of ever green trees. The tree branches caught the plane by the wings as the fuselage continued through.

you can also put on a 2600kv turnigy motor on it and a 6X4e prop to get better preformance.

@monjon868 Looks to be that this setup is limited to that range, you might want to look into a 2.4ghz to have the best route for long range flying.
