  • @varesy Thank you very much! I was unaware that beautifulgirlbydana had featured me, but I'm glad to hear it.

  • I must admit I caught myself singing the higher harmony along with you during the chorus. And actually sounded quite good. ; )

  • @zacklineman I bet! We should sing this song together sometime~

  • You really nailed this song. I've heard it many times but this is by far my favorite version.

  • @zacklineman Thanks!

  • Lovely. If I can ask, why did you use the word "squabs" in the song? I had to look it up. It mentioned fledgling birds esp. pigeons, or a stuffed sofa, or a fat short person. I suppose you meant it as a pigeon in the sense that a pigeon is a sucker in a con game, which of course war is. Ahh, now I get it. I've answered my own question.

    Thanks for the song.

  • @mcgrawtim123 I used the word "squabs" because that's what a baby mourning dove is called~ The Dove King, who is literally a dove, is trying to convince his followers that his failures aren't his fault by connecting two things that are actually unrelated. "Storms will always come" is a statement about something the king cannot control. He says "squabs (their young) will die at war" hoping that the crowd will believe both storms and war are inevitable. He's a smooth-talker.

  • @thirtysilver Ahhh, smooth talker indeed! Thank you for the explanation and it makes the song mean that much more. Well done!

  • @mcgrawtim123 Sure thing! I love when people show interest in my lyrics~ I put a lot of thought into them.
