Play anelka as lone striker? Then what if anelka is injured lol. Chelsea's title chances stand on a thin piece of string. more than 3 injuries and the team is fucked. And if essien/lampard is injured, the midfield is truly fucked, dont even get me started on the defence.

Well to be honest I don't really agree with you. If you were talking about Liverpool then I would be saying yes, but Chelsea have plenty of players to fill in for injuries.

Up front they have Kalou and Sturridge to fill in for anyone. Midfield they have Deco, Ballack, Zhirkov and Cole who don't currently start who could easily slot in.

In defence they have Alex to cover CB and Belletti, Ferreira and Ivanovic to cover the sides and centre.

You have players like alex,belleti,sturridge to fill in as replacements, but are they as good as the people they are replacing? Carvalho and terry are in a different league compared to ivanovic and belleti.

Ferreira is also a very pathetic player when you compare him to bosingwa, and with mancienne still on loan you dont have any pacy fullbacks than cole and zhirkov, who both play on the left.

Yeah they're definately not as good and thats why they don't start, but they can do a good job. Alex had a great run in the team last season. Sturridge is an unknown quantity of such, but he is a good prospect. Not a Drogba or Anelka by any means I admit.

Their overall squad though is probably on par with Man U for strength in depth. Liverpool have a shocking squad this season. They more than anyone should hope they don't get injuries.
