  • is intresting to know that HU is 1000's years persian cultures means GOD (persian sufisme) ;i'm a persian and there are ppl who find ackankar intresting to study and be a member

    thx

  • Is hum the same as hu? What is hum ?

  • Hu Man, reporting for duty.

  • we are HU man = we are Higher Universal Man

  • Hopefully this isn't referencing "god" as a separate being than the self. The "Ohm/om" and the "Hu" do not refer to "god" as a deity or higher entity. It refers to "god" as the universe. As everything. The omnipresent energy that is existence. Not the man in the sky.

  • Sufi meditation of Maraqba use "Allah Hu" which is one of the most powerful meditation I ever experienced. Within 15 minutes it makes your heart fill with love and light. You will have a sweet sensation after that.

  • Very nice. Well done.

  • This is a way to connect to Divine Love, God, AS OUR HIGHER SELF...SOUL I have sang this song for 35 years and had more amazing connections in contemplation than I have words. I have healed a broken body, addictions, relationship stuff, and simply calmed a racing mind with this love song and know it is amazing

  • I have to ask....what's an Eckist?

  • @UnhappySquancho

An ECKist is a student of ECKANKAR, someone who has chosen to prove to him or herself how real the wonders of this spiritual path are by adopting simple spiritual practices and filling the heart with love

  • Someone who practices Eckankar - which teaches about Soul Travel and Dreams

  • We are HU man

  • Thank you very much. I was planning on creating a similar video in Italian for our Swiss-Italian group :P

  • Ohmmmm!! :D

  • To achieve centeredness, peace, contentment, ability to be in the now, sing Huuuuuuuuu. The feeling of oneness with the universe is unparalleled. From this point of focus, you attract similar quality of people and events to your life, so why not?

  • I think theres something in it. The vibration that singing HU makes is very soothing to the upper body region. Secondly the sound of air produced by the lips sounds like wind which can be very hypnotic when repeated.

  • There is no co-incidence between "HU" in Eckankar and "Hu" the Tabir because there is no word "Hu" in the Tabir.

It is correctly written "Allahu akbar" (الله أكبر) not "Allah hu akbar". It is a combination of the word Allah ([the one] God), "u" which means IS and Akbar meaning "great", the Hu sound is a combination of the ending H in AllaH and the sound U.

  • Thank You. ... When one hears the inner sounds of God with the spiritual ears he begins to understand that any spoken words and history about the HU can never fully explain what only the heart can understand. So i suggest people try singing HU and see how their heart feels....

  • That doesn't make any sence, and I don't meen that it's too complex a thought; afterall I am a phylosofer. I simply can't get past your sentances. Could you re-frase?

  • the name HU is the last letter of the Arabic AllaHU/God HU meaning it is him, it is his essence the unknown essence of God, in AllaHU he is confirming himself to himself for himself by himself, it is also the smallest sound in the universe, everything in existence makes this sound from animals to plants to atoms angels etc, hence the chapter in the Koran says, "everything in heaven and earth praises God" love and blessings peace

  • What do you mean by saying "Hu is the smallest sound in the universe"? As Hu is a combination of 2 phonyms it is a longer sound than any vowle.

  • I love HU

  • where can i find hu songs ?

  • It's awesome being an eckist!

  • great video and explanation

  • We are HU-man

  • I am an Eckest as well, my father was introduced to eck in the late 80's and most of my family "pretends" to go along with the religion but i actually believe it. I had a harder time as a kid believing it but now when i sing the HU i feel the love of God.. I also have christian beliefs as well.. Goodnight and travel well. HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

  • Thanks for this video. Sometimes when I meditate I use Hu. It is very nice.

  • May the blessings be!

  • i always wonder why the ISLAMIC saying ALLAH HU AKBAR mentions HU the sacred name of GOD. An why the ISLAMIC prayer position is known in the KUNDALINI YOGA practice as the sphinx which is identified as with the SPHINX in EGYPT as HU?

  • Also the roots of the word alleluiah. The word "God" itself (according to scholars and also the Catholic Dictionary) comes from the Sanskrit word HU, via the Gothic root gheu; Sanskrit hu or emu....

HU is found throughout the world, through history and cultures as a sacred, unifying word for God. However it's real power is not in history but in how it opens the heart to gods love.

  • I love the HU. it is very helpful in the everyday world we live in. I am ever so grateful for the HU.

  • Profound yet practical, inspiring. Thank you!

  • What is Tibetan Sufism? Never heard of it.

  • I am proud to say that i am a member of ECK!

  • allah is ur belief we eckest respect that

  • HU is the omnipotent, universal name of god. HU just is.

Aum and everything else is a word of the lower worlds

  • I like practical advice, thanks. And the history and background are helpful, as is the benefit list.

    Thanks again.

  • Chanting or singing HU feels similar to that of OM...

  • I've been using the HU for over 30 years and have always found it to be very effective for opening my awareness. The real test of a technique is whether it works for you. I've continued to use HU because it works for me -- why not give it a try if you haven't already?

  • Excellent introduction. The HU is an incredibly powerful spiritual tool that I use daily. The best way to learn about it (beside this nice video) is to try it.

  • Which god does it sing to?? At last count, there were over 3,700 different gods worshiped on this planet.

  • A very thoughtful question. HU is universal - so I would say whatever you believe God to be, since everyone has a different "concept" of God, (often based on what someone gave them). I prefer direct personal experience to belief, which is why I like singing HU. I believe we are a spark or part of God (and God is not some separate deity or guy on a throne).

  • However, there is only one source from which we all come. It matters not what name we call It. We all came from the same place and we will all eventually return to the same place. Hu is a sound that will help speed you along your way to your own higher state of consciousness. And that is why we came here to begin with. It matters not what name we choose to call It.

  • Hu Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, the Peace, the Keeper of Faith, the Guardian, the Majestic, the Compeller, the Superb. Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him). (Quran 59:23)

  • Wonderful words! Eckists believe that all religions are wonderful exactly as they are. We are seeking to find the single thread that binds us all in harmony and divine love. Thank you for helping all mankind move in that direction.

  • I think HU might be the actual starting point but the final word derived is "AUM".

  • It is actually Aum or Om. But HU also ends in the same sound as OM.

  • Aum or OM is the sound of the Brahm or mind consciousness, often heard within as running water. More popularly known than HU it is a wonderful chant. Try singing both, and see how your heart feels with each. the best test of any word to sing or chant is your own experience, your heart, and your own spiritual needs of the moment.

  • HUman......

  • When one is united to the core of another, to speak of that is to breathe the name HU, empty of self and filled

with love. As the saying goes, The pot drips what is in it.

The saffron spice of connecting, laughter.

    The onion-smell of separation, crying.

Others have many things and people they love.

This is not the way of Friend and friend. - Rumi

"Open Secret - Versions of Rumi"

Translated by John Moyne and Coleman Barks

  • "People glimpse a quality of the Supreme Deity and fit a name to their concept of the All-in-the-All in their native tongue."

    (...)

"HU is foremost among the ancient names for God. It is the true, universal name drawn from the Sound Current Itself, for HU is woven into the language of life. It is the Sound of all sounds."

    (...)

"It is a word people anywhere can use to address the Originator of Life."

    (...)

"The word HU descends from the highest spiritual realms." - Harold Klemp

  • I love to sing HU! After 35 years, it's still my favorite thing. It sings through my life all the time. It is why and how I am here.

  • How refreshing to find the HU here! Thank you!

  • I have an exercise where I was to say 'Who are you?'I thought.Maybe we could be saying 'Hu are you' actually. There is also Lu.

  • hi everyone, HU is good isn't it...I like singing it with others as well as on my own.

  • Nice - that really opened my heart. Thanks!

  • HU is one of the secret names of ALLAH. In Islam and Sufism we say: HUU ALLAH. Allahu la ilaha illa Huu.

Your Breathning is also the same sound as HU. And this directs us to ALLAHUUUUUUUU...

  • Yes! Thank you so much for sharing this - wonderful how through time the HU is found in many wonderful religions from Islam, Sufi, American Indian, even Christianity... a common thread of Gods love...

  • Glad that Eckankar's "HU" song is uploaded here...I love singing the "HU" when getting up and before going to bed...or wherever and whenever....May the blessings be!

  • HU is a pure prayer... a prayer of the highest sort...

  • Wow! Wonderful exercise - I'll try it
