This was the only decent tune on their album, for me. Funnily enough i downloaded the demo of their aborted second record about 3 months ago and it was much, much better. I love the riff on this but the guitar solo at the end has none of the soul that, say, I Am The Resurrection had.

Eh. Not really. Each member contributed something special. I'd imagine based on they're work post-Roses that the songwriting was a 80/20 kind of thing. Ian can carry a tune, but John is a proper musician and artist.
