Who cares how long it takes the fuel to burn. Why don't you calculate the total energy contained within 50 Tons of jet fuel. While you're at it, you can use your extensive knowledge of Physics to calculate the Kinetic energies of the planes as they hit the Towers.

And it matters how long fuel burns, becuase your asumption is, it was a blast furnace inside. Kerosene has a fairly quick burn rate, as compared to gasoline or say deisel.
