  • shes great! shes also beautiful i met her and she was amazing in a poetry reading!

  • This is one of the most intense women in the world. Everything about her is a level or two above most of the rest of us. Big thanks to Def Poetry from those of us who'd never know about poet like her.

  • PREACH.

    PEACE, DAMMIT. PEACE.

  • She came to my school last friday and let me tell you she is beautiful inside and out , she is really smart and has wisdom in her soul. she recited "Daughter" and "4:02pm" to us. she truly is inspiring.

  • id hit it

  • Why she not covered. shes dancing to the western life style im sorry im just saying

  • @clinique8701 What you wear and do is a representation of yourself, not the religion. Yes, while religion does recommend not to wear such clothes, at the end of the day its up to you and is not something that should be used as a judgement. I've seen people all covered up doing things that are fundamentally wrong.

  • If your muslim in the quran it says u have to cover your head and chest. In islam u must do it were not perfect. we are sinners and not covering up and commiting zina and other things that go against allahs word is all part of ppl doing wrong i didnt say she must be covered I asked why. Its her judgement not mine. I know where u coming from cuz i would have agreed with u a long time ago but if your muslim u have to follow the sunnah. Its a struggle yes.im not saying when u cover your a angel.

  • @clinique8701 I understand now where you're coming from . May Allah guide her to get better at this thing as well and also reward her for the other good things she is doing. There is always room for improvement, and I feel there a lot of room these days for us all.

  • @adeelazmat I agree may allah guide us all.Enjoy your day.Salam

  • @clinique8701 I'm pretty sure God will bless her more than anything you have/ will do in your life for what she's doing right here in this video, bringing light to an injustice. Everyone is a sinner, don't tell me you follow everything the sunnah says. So keep your mouth shut for once in a while, and let a good person do a good thing for once without telling them what they're doing wrong.

  • @livelovelaugh127 Yes i am a sinner Im not perfect may allah bless us all. Im in good health. I also wish u the best and her I dont know her and I dont know u but all I was saying was why shes not covered. Theres no need to get mad yes we are all sinners but if u can avoid a small sin such as covering whats wrong with that. Forgive me if I have backbite. Thats not good at all were all trying to become better ppl regardless of what u belive in. Salam.

  • I saw Ryan Cole's video on youtube "My Suicide" and loved it so much that I bought his album on amazon. I'm just in love with it now. Great poetry.

  • i love you suheir you make us palestinians proud habibti!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @miss3sha87 agreed :)

  • she is beautiful i would marry her! her poems say sooo much!

  • here is a original poem you may love- "sacred desires, perception inspires, our lives go sunshine rays,in the dark as we count the days, sleep deprivation, deep perspiration, inhaling oxygen contaminated, with chemicals we desire technically animated, caffeine & nicotine, morning freshness breathless listerine, loving each other, hating the haters, respecting our mothers, waiting on waters, poetry of hearts conquered, by the one who makes the day stronger" original poem by Mr. Omar Jefferson
  • Marshallah, this was very deep, powerful & beautiful

  • Go girl!

  • @dtwandthensome Check out the Essenes connection, where Christ spoke through, as a stark contrast to "hebes" not compared to, (as if Christ would have packaged the message inside a death agenda??), but no, instead gave a new covenant, new consciousness, with only one command to love...I think he was consistant in saying the old is passed away, the old law, the old way of judaics...

  • Powerful words btw. Anyone from the UK know a place that has poetry slams like Def Poetry??

  • Erykah badu used a line out of this poem in her song "Out of my mind" but instead of saying "I wont pop for you...etc" Erykah said she would.

  • does anyone know if Def Jam Poetry sessions are still happening ?

i.e are there still live shows currently running ?

  • I love listening to Def Jam poetry sessions. She is one of the poets I enjoy to listen to alot.

  • Suheir, you're beautiful from the inside out....

  • "Our humming will be drumming" love it

  • Wow!

  • Why do all the commentaries have to be about her being beautiful or marrying her? Can she just be smart and on her own? Jeez.

  • @jovanovm I guess that's just how some people show their appreciation of her. ;)

  • @jovanovm Thank you for making this point

  • This is one intense individual. She obviously has piercing intelligence and passion and courageous outspokenness. It will never happen but, I've tried to imagine what it would be like to have a cup of coffee with her.

  • She is so beautiful, it blows my mind.

  • i love, love this! :)

  • You're great, so powerful, love it!

  • wife material... god damn

  • So much power within those words. I love it!

  • Sorry...I gotta disagree. I dont like the anti millitary tone of this poem....Im in the Millitary and believe it or not..there's people out there that wants to kill us.

And we gotta do what have to be done. Its guys like us that gives this woman the right and freedom to be reading that Poem. If anything yall should be grateful that were around to protect your utopian fantasy minded ass.

  • @ShaolinSurfer777 If you have/want the right/justification to kill your enemy, then your enemy also have/want the right/justification to kill you.

  • @ShaolinSurfer777 This poem is not anti military... it's anti war. She's saying that she does not buy into any of the ideas that move people to kill each other. Your service is most greatly appreciated... I'm personally sad that war exists at all.

  • @ShaolinSurfer777 I can sympathize with your words and how difficult it must be to hear people critique the way you help provide freedom. I do think that the poem communicates something more open than "anti-military" in that it points to the way leaders have made decisions without paying attention to the will of the people and her generally "anti-war" stance. I believe that she speaks to both sides: those that want to kill and those that defend those who are under attack.

  • @ShaolinSurfer777

I am proud to see our men & women serving in the armed forces. Lord knows that I could not do it. There are parts of me - however utopian and impractical given humanity's penchant for self-destruction - that wish neither military nor war existed. Those parts were moved.

  • @ShaolinSurfer777 This message is for those who wants to kill us too. There is something very.....juvenile about war. And no offence to our troops, but what gives you the right to go out there and kill yourself and others? That is where the problem lies. People are needlessly DYING, because of some dictator or ruler is not doing what they're supposed to be doing.

  • @Indiegirl007 Aslong as were in this dark age of disagreement. There's going to be fighting, there's going to be bloodshed and there will be plenty of crooks and tyrants to behead and hung. I feel you on your view that War sucks. It does, I fucken hate the thought of deployment but I've signed the dotted line and Uncle Sam owns me. You sound like one of those cute hippy chicks with idealize views and probably still in College. That's cool though, its sort of adorable.

  • @ShaolinSurfer777 But don't you see? That's just the PROBLEM. There shouldn't be war. There shouldn't be bloodshed. The world was not made for anarchy. And when you inlist for that, sign up your flesh to be mutilated for someone's else's vanity, you are empowering this chaos. People should NOT have to die over a 'disagreement.' This is just a simple thing that the world just doesn't get. I know things can't be flowers and love songs. I just want the world to understand it shouldn't be like this

  • She's one of the dopest!

  • wow...why is it so hard these days to find women like her who are not afraid to speak the truth..God bless her

  • how sensitive a jew can be when he hears the word skin and accuses a sensitive poet of using his imagery from his holocaust, and yet, he is immune to the holocaust close to his presumed home, israel,he cannot hear the cries of the children of Gaza whose skin is hanging off their tiny bones, because he is so wrapped up in his own past, his own obsession, his own narcissism, doesn;' it make you ashamed to be part of a human race which still has nazi written in its soul somewhere in israel

  • Comment removed

  • masha'allah!

  • free palestine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'll take it !

  • ohh.. my god she's gorgeous.

  • wow, that's deep

  • From the first time a saw her on def speaking beautiful hard words about her people I was in love...even her name is poetic

  • i think you're reading (listening?) too into it. the way i perceived it, she was just talking about the preciousness of life, and i think, if anything, she is talking about both the IDF and Hamas & related organizations. i thought the poetry was far from bad.

  • Im pretty sure youre exactly backwards. If you watch her longer poem that will be made more clear, but even from this one, it is clear she is speaking from an anti-arab perspective when she says she wont commit suicide for revenge.

She isn't anti israel, she is pro-life.

  • No, my friend. She is pro-Palestinian. She is Palestinian. She is anti-Zionist. Just like every other Palestinian. Poetry shouldn't be taken at face value. Explore her words. Explore her rhetoric.

  • I will not commit suicide for revenge as well and I'm 10000% Arab and 10000% Palestinian

    Period.

  • well said and thx

  • man, the narcissistic jew who cannot see the skin hanging off the babies of gaza, jeremayakvka, go home, go to your chosen people, we do not want you among us, as we didn't want nazis among us, go
