  • im from zimbabwe

  • nice but why the laghfter

  • @TheZebras8

We were very happy after a tough shot.!

  • no, not a giant sable.

  • I thought the giant sable antelopes only lived in Angola and were critically endangered? Or aren't these giant sable antelopes? :X

  • this are sable antelope not a giant sable

  • .416 Rigby with 400 grain solids. It's an elephant gun.

  • What type of gun did you use, because for some reason it did not die right away.

  • Pretty good shooting and I support this type of hunting but I can't understand why people laugh when they have killed a majestic creature, to me it shows a lack of respect. I too am a hunter and get satisfaction from it but have never found it something to laugh about. Just my opinion...still good job and congrats on the nice Sable

  • I agree and tried to cut out the laughing because it portrays a false view of that situation. We were all just releasing true feelings after the built-up suspense of the hunt. I was in awe of the beauty of this animal and in no way meant to show disrespect. This hunt was a dream come true for me.

  • they are enjoying there kill there not rlly laughing at the animal being shot there just happy they got a kill i would be to

  • Was that second shot a spine shot?

  • Yes, it was.

  • Congrats on the sable and congrats on the impressive shot. You really brought it down quickly with that second one. The spine shot is definitely one of my favorites on game. How long were the horns?

  • 38.5 inches

  • Thanks for the compliment! I was pretty happy!

  • Good shot ! whats the the trophy price for your sable antelope? I seen the price list ranging from $7,000-$9,000 USD! very expensive!

  • It was $4000 in 2006 but going up!

  • Ya good shot man

iddn - if you dont know what u r talking about s**t up

  • I really don't think that happened. The animal ran only a very short distance.

  • 2 shots? All that adrenaline would have ruined the meat

  • No, what I understand is that the local people will be given the meet free so even the meat is little "crushed", they dont mind, naturally. Am I correct,barnacat22?

    Good hunt.!

  • Yes, that's right. They make use of everything.

  • They just dry the meat and sell it. Making up wit hdifferend kind of species, it is very delicious. I have been several times to Africa in order to hunt as many games as I can. I can say, the most delicious meet is the young eland calf's meat.

They call this dry meat Biltong.

  • Nice Sable. I shot two in Tanzania. One took 4 rounds from my 375 H&H to drop him.

  • Well done! Beautiful antelope sables are. You got him with a 400 soild and the thing still needed an anchoring shot?!? African game is definately tougher. Congrats!

  • Wow I never knew people used Aimpoints for African game hunting. Good shot @ 190 yds.

  • I also used the aimpoint for cape buffalo; quick shooting at close range. It worked great!

  • Anyone using Eotechs for the same application?

  • Beautiful Sable! Great Shot!

  • FYI, CZ 550 Safari in .416 Rigby w/ Federal Cape Shock 400 grain solids. Aimpoint Red-dot scope in 1X power at 190 yds. First shot was double lung, second dropped it. A tough and beautiful animal!
