This is the best vid I've seen Isfahan to date. Seems less crowded than when I lived there 35 years ago. Those were strange memories. It seemed like the place could go to pieces any minute and later on it did. Conspiracies & rumors became a reality when Khomeini came to power. The hammer came down and anything that once seemed human about Iran went straight to hell. I hope Iran gets a change for the better & soon. Good luck Isfahan, khodahafez
@valpard: Well, the word "Ispahan" is not so far from the original persian word. The older name of the city used to be "Sipahan" -related to "Sipah" meaning army- and alternatively "Ispahan" (This alternation of Persian words is quite common. For example, "Shotor" (camel) = "Oshtor", or "Sitara" (star)= "Istara".) Later on, after Arabization of the word "Ispahan" became "Isfahan". So, the word you used is not a french construction, but only the original Persian word.
@nagamora Do not be silly. If newspapers and television say things like that, why not use Wiki or something similar, to slightly enriched knowledge. "The Antichrist's home" is far from Iran, is much closer to you and people who think similarly to you. All the western attack Islam, as Islam is the evil of the world, but the bible says to first look at ourselves, and only then to look at others.
Greetings from Serbia, I hope to be in a position to visit Iran and Esfahan,Nesfe Jahan

stupid question, but, where is everyone? the historical buildings seem to be mostly empty of people--in cultural sites that I've visited, it seems there's always tons of people snapping photos.

i lived in isfahan in the mid 70's. the monuments were pretty. i lived in khaneh and remember the nice people who lived around khaneh. the warmth of the people is what i remember most. iran u.s. relations aren't good not because the americans are bad but the bad representation have at the moment. i'm a republican but i voted for cynthia mckinney(green)in the hopes of never seeing my country enter in iran. the people i met there were good people and the thought makes me sick. ron reika

When I visited Ispahan the guide said to us, only 2 groups of tourists were present in the town, so it was easy to avoid poeple for my video.

Ispahan is the French name of Esfahān / Isfahan .
I'm french... Sometimes in France names of foreign cities are modified and adapted (London = Londres, Aachen = Aix-la-Chapelle... )
