According to what I saw as comments I have to add only Bravo Juan Diego!!!And believe me I am singing this period Comte Ory in Genevra and it is extremely difficult to sing the part.Who cares about the high d if everything is sung well...Bravo another time to Juan Diego Florez
@BaroneDiTrombonok The Met got together some of the best performers in the opera world for this. They include; Juan Diego Florez, Diana Damrau, Stephane Degout, Michele Pertusi and Joyce DiDonato. They all performed in this show.
well, if one is awake all night, gives birth half an hour before the performance and then runs on stage for le comte ory, i think is not good idea to try the high D...aint it? :D
Me too I had the chance to see it in our cinema ... not the first time - I saw and heared SUPER-FLÒRZ live in Pesaro/Italy in this role too ~ I get still goosepimples ...
Yes , It was a marvellous performance and what a design and scenery. Saw the performance from Met. They really are pro. Met knows how to make real Opera.
Very good singers and the comic scenery and the artists are so brilliant.
I saw this YESTERDAY in the theater courtesy of HD Live broadcast (without the French subs.) How on earth did you get this? An ultra-amazing performance by JDF considering he was up all night waiting for his son to be born. According to his interview after the first act, his wife gave birth to "Leandro" (spelling) at home, with him at her side, at 12:25am. The opera began at 1:00pm! Bravo, Papa.
