I saw this film, splendid cinema. This ancient subject, where good ends, and evil begins. Where indifference has not access. I guy, but I cried on this film how beaver.
God this song is wonderfull, its so sad and dark but still its soothing for the soul... I watched the movie and I can only say that my friends that watched it with me (we where about 12 people when we saw this) tried to hold back their tears through the film but when John died... We practically all fell in tears and soaked the carpet... We loved it and this is my top 1 film of all times... its based on truth, forgivness and how people can make a difference... You cant ask more from a movie...
this movie was amazing , i have seen it many times and it always makes me cry, and i am sure thomas newmans incredible music is part of the reason, have you read the book ? everybody should read this book, absolutely fantastic, you won't be disappointed.
I have actually read the book... three times, its wonderfull and detailed so I have read it a few times, this song is really wonderfull and amazingly emotionally loaded
This is quite possibly the most beautiful soundtrack Ive heard, I can see the film when I hear it and its horrible and beautiful....very rare in cinema history.......outstanding, and moving....
though i feel at peace when i listen to it.i'm also aware that there is a dark, and sad story to it.i still wonder why nobody did anyting to prevent his exucution.still a very beautiful song.its a song i hope to never forget any time soon.calming, and sad at the same time.5/5!
Me too. I was so sad, because of that case. I cried so much...
And now I listen to this song and remember the sceene they went together to the chair. And I could cry again. This film is one of the best one, I've ever seen.
This one could well have won the Oscar Award for Best Picture, because the implications of this film were moving to say the least; and Michael Clarke Duncan and Tom Hanks, exceptionally acted. Frank Darabont may well have won for Best Director... And of Thomas Newman on the theme soundtrack -- well, what can we say, just brilliant.
I think it was right that the Green Mile lost out to American Beauty for the Oscar Awarf for Best Picture. Dont forget that the Green Mile is a selection of books made into a film soo it was easier to make. However the film is still beautiful. Although American Beauty was just something else really, a wonderful tale of loneliness....
i am 35 years old man and have seen so much in my life,, but every time i listen to this music and watch the movie my eyes will be full of tears...! just can not hold it ?
Such a powerful film. The symbolic use of John Coffey/ Jesus (JC) is undeniable, having no money or material wealth. To impact so greatly on others lives for the good, even though he's on Death Row.
It just tears at the heart strings knowing he was innocent, but like a martyr (JC), he died for the sins of another. Even his last moments were thinking fondly about others being safe and happy.
even though its on of my favorite movies we should not forget that the men are not guilty for nothing. Nearly every prisoner seems to regret their actions, that makes them more likeable for us. This movie is incredible sad as well beautiful. Michael Clarke Duncan is my favourite actor in this movie. he really should have won the oscar or golden globe for best supporting act.
This is probably my favourite movie. Not because it's the best movie ever made, but because it can stir so many emotions. I cried when it was Coffey's turn to walk the mile. And I almost cried for Del and Mr. Jingles.
It's an incredibly sad but also incredibly good movie. Watching all these men die, however guilty they are, makes me rather sad. Because I grew attached to their characters from reading the book and to see them actually die... It really puts things into perspective, you know?
i don't want to but....i think of sad things, really sad things. people i miss that are gone but still in my heart :(...sad song but very, very beautiful!
Thomas Newman is simply one of the best in the business when it comes to music composition. A good score ignites the right emotions form the viewer at the right time. The Green Mile is one of my favorite films and this perfect track cements that. He also did American Beauty and The Shawshank Redemption which where also very good films with great scores.
This 8-time Academy Award nominee is quite overdue for an Oscar.
