I actually teach a class using, solely, this little ball (not the Bender Ball in particular, but a small pilates ball, nonetheless) and everyone LOVES it and get more results because of the spinal extension & flexion...you work your core SO much more with this ball than you would doing plain sit-ups or crunches. I'm a cert. personal trainer and pilates instructor, but it's just my opinion. ;) Do what works for YOU.

Some things might not work for you BUT will work for others... Personally I think the ball is great, it gives that lower back support we dont get when doing regular crunches...PLUS regular cruches are old and boring! There's alot to do with this little ball... You're not going to get abs just doing ab work anyway. Watch what you eat, work your back/quads/hamstrings. They burn more calories/fat than your abs ever will. Then focus on your abs.

ALSO, there are many more motions that may be executed using this ball (than just the plain jane cruch) Try staying contracted at the center while rotating in your torso to target the obliques. Then try putting the ball under your butt to help support the back while you do some leg lifts (knees bent reduces torque in the hip joints). Remember to always to these exercises SLOW. Slower is better in allowing all the muscle to be worked throughout the range of motion.
Actually, I agree that you are NOT suppose to hyperextend the back in the way that most people do when using this ball. However, I am a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and we carry the bender ball at my gym. I use myself as well as with all of my clients. The ball is designed to be used as an aid TO the back to help you remain contracted though the entire range of motion. It is not intended to be actually BENT over. Try it SLOW. I bet you will like it.
Not only is the bender ball a ripoff but it is actually bad for you..yes crunches only work the top abs but you can work the lower by doing reverse crunches and/or leg lifts and the obliques can only be worked through alternating crunches..bending back actually doesn't even work the abs..the lower back muscles come into play in a very unstable way which will only injury your back. Being a certified personal trainer myself I was shocked to see a product this blantantly bad for you on the market.
You aren't supposed to bend that far back. I actually like it because it does support the lower back and prevents you from needing a workout mat. Costs the same as a workout mat and it comes with 3 DVDs, so the cost is justified IMHO. <3

Just because you got ripped off by the company financially doesn't mean their product doesn't work. And that's why you should never buy any product from the website they advertise, that's why there are online stores like ebay or amazon.
You need to specify that you are complaining about the company and their "preview program," not the ball itself. They do this preview program with many of the fitness programs available on TV, but that doesn't mean they don't work. Be a smart consumer and always read the fine print. But you shouldn't be saying "just do some sit-ups" when clearly your issue is not even with the ball. Regular crunches don't work even close to all the ab muscles, and they can cause other problems.
It's weird that you say that they sent you videos you 'didn't even order'. That is clearly on the website as part of the preview program. It's right there..

The ball is actually a very good product. It allows you to build extra momentum and extension before completing the crunch. I have read alot of complaints about the customer service and people saying that there credit cards have been charged extra. I did not have this problem because I paid by money order and just to be on the safe side I would advise paying by money order. They cant charge you for extra's if you dont give them a credit card number.

Doing crunches on the FLOOR are for ppl who A. don't know better or B. have severe issues with their back that prevents the use of other methods.
they only target a portion of the abdominal muscles. i don't do these with my clients except when i split each portion of the abs into three or four circuit exercises to allow a break in between.
this is just a PROFESSIONAL opinion :) more effective than bigger balance balls.
I did it!! I ordered the product but then since I have a brain I made a phone call that took about 40 seconds and had them remove me from the dvd list. Thats why I wont be getting the dvd's because I didnt even order them!!! If you order the kit make sure you find someone with a brain that can read and dial a phone unlike this guy.The agreement clearly states that you will be added to the dvd list but you can cancel at anytime. So just cancel after you get the ball! Its not rocket science

A friend of mine purchased the bender ball and got no use out of it and gave it to me. I don't think its really a complete ripoff, it helps noticeably strengthen your abs, i got pretty good results using it; but i think the problem is, the people that buy this sort of thing expect to do some crunch and melt off fat and get 6 pack abs...
The Website says that they are going to send additional DVDs automatically, unless you cancel beforehand -- you have to be careful and read all the info on the order page.
First you're going to have to calm down because they're not going to want to help you if you are an angry customer. Find the customer service phone number, call them, and calmly explain to them that you would like to cancel your order. Just remember that the person you are talking to is probably making minimum wage at a call center. And it's a human being. So be nice. Make them laugh. And tell them that you changed your mind. Hopefully they'll work with you.

just buy it IN STORE. go to walmart, or bed bath & beyond. crunches with the bender ball ARE more effective than regular crunches alone. The videos came with it, i got it that day in store and did not get "scammed" with hidden fees. I did the core workout video and my abs were shaking. I like it . Dont buy it online, get it IN A STORE and you wont get scammed. do your research first.

You're not going to get abs just doing ab work anyway. Watch what you eat, work your back/quads/hamstrings. They burn more calories/fat than your abs ever will. Then focus on your abs.

It does work. Maybe you don't use it right. You do need to have some coordination. And you need to do other exercises; cardio, weightlifting and have good eating habits. It's your fault for ordering it online. I got one at the local BB & B store for $15.99, included 3 DVDs.

ALSO, there are many more motions that may be executed using this ball (than just the plain jane cruch) Try staying contracted at the center while rotating in your torso to target the obliques. Then try putting the ball under your butt to help support the back while you do some leg lifts (knees bent reduces torque in the hip joints). Remember to always to these exercises SLOW. Slower is better in allowing all the muscle to be worked throughout the range of motion.

Actually, I agree that you are NOT suppose to hyperextend the back in the way that most people do when using this ball. However, I am a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and we carry the bender ball at my gym. I use myself as well as with all of my clients. The ball is designed to be used as an aid TO the back to help you remain contracted though the entire range of motion. It is not intended to be actually BENT over. Try it SLOW. I bet you will like it.

Not only is the bender ball a ripoff but it is actually bad for you..yes crunches only work the top abs but you can work the lower by doing reverse crunches and/or leg lifts and the obliques can only be worked through alternating crunches..bending back actually doesn't even work the abs..the lower back muscles come into play in a very unstable way which will only injury your back. Being a certified personal trainer myself I was shocked to see a product this blantantly bad for you on the market.

You aren't supposed to bend that far back. I actually like it because it does support the lower back and prevents you from needing a workout mat. Costs the same as a workout mat and it comes with 3 DVDs, so the cost is justified IMHO. <3

The only way to work the obliques is by doing alternating crunches..the bender ball just lets you bend back, at that point the back is being worked and not the abs..however the back is being worked in a counterproductive way making it likely to get injured.

You need to specify that you are complaining about the company and their "preview program," not the ball itself. They do this preview program with many of the fitness programs available on TV, but that doesn't mean they don't work. Be a smart consumer and always read the fine print. But you shouldn't be saying "just do some sit-ups" when clearly your issue is not even with the ball. Regular crunches don't work even close to all the ab muscles, and they can cause other problems.

I wish I saw this before they ripped me off. This not only ripped me off but when I canceled I didn't pay the last charge because I changed credit cards, and it RUINED my credit history!!! The ball is actually a very good product. It allows you to build extra momentum and extension before completing the crunch. I have read alot of complaints about the customer service and people saying that there credit cards have been charged extra. I did not have this problem because I paid by money order and just to be on the safe side I would advise paying by money order. They cant charge you for extra's if you dont give them a credit card number.

I am a personal fitness trainer, not a dork with a VIDEO camera.
Doing crunches on the FLOOR are for ppl who A. don't know better or B. have severe issues with their back that prevents the use of other methods.
they only target a portion of the abdominal muscles. i don't do these with my clients except when i split each portion of the abs into three or four circuit exercises to allow a break in between.
this is just a PROFESSIONAL opinion :) more effective than bigger balance balls.

I did it!! I ordered the product but then since I have a brain I made a phone call that took about 40 seconds and had them remove me from the dvd list. Thats why I wont be getting the dvd's because I didnt even order them!!! If you order the kit make sure you find someone with a brain that can read and dial a phone unlike this guy.The agreement clearly states that you will be added to the dvd list but you can cancel at anytime. So just cancel after you get the ball! Its not rocket science

A friend of mine purchased the bender ball and got no use out of it and gave it to me. I don't think its really a complete ripoff, it helps noticeably strengthen your abs, i got pretty good results using it; but i think the problem is, the people that buy this sort of thing expect to do some crunch and melt off fat and get 6 pack abs...

First you're going to have to calm down because they're not going to want to help you if you are an angry customer. Find the customer service phone number, call them, and calmly explain to them that you would like to cancel your order. Just remember that the person you are talking to is probably making minimum wage at a call center. And it's a human being. So be nice. Make them laugh. And tell them that you changed your mind. Hopefully they'll work with you.

Regardless of what you think of this guy in the video, do not order the Bender Ball. I did too and can't stop them from charging my credit card for things I did not order. They add you to an automatic shipment list and even when you call to cancel, they still send shit and charge your card. This is a huge scam.
