  • I'm disabled, but I could have perfectly able children. I am so psycho about survival that I would abandon them if they made a B. I have my reasons for this.

  • thomas sowell

  • I love Sowell...he's an amazing mind. clarity is his gift...for sure

  • What did he mean by "words are wise men's counters but they are the money of fools." Can someone explain me the meaning?

  • In Soviet Russia, words use you.

  • "All kinds of chance encounters with particular people, information or circumstances have marked turning points in many individual's lives, whether toward fulfillment or ruin."

    One of my favorite quotes.

  • Thomas sowell war

  • Thomas Sowell is worthless. There are plenty of people who understand sound economics and limited government who also think for themselves when it comes to foreign policy. Sowell's neocon foreign policy make him unnecessary.

  • @pjallen823

What determines whether someone "thinks for themselves", whether or not they agree with you?

  • @pjallen823 Lulz. Unfortunately for you the American people are unlikely to elect the Republican Congressman from Tehran. So maybe you should think for yourself that "thinking for yourself" when it comes to foreign policy is useless, seeing as know nothing of history and you don't work for the CIA.

  • excellent vid, wise words

  • Oh my god. Right before break we were talking about social injustice and my teacher (who's a total liberal) was all about social justice. I can't wait to start citing actual philosophers against him. Fuck I hate liberals.

  • @rockinandout ;-D

  • @rockinandout Good luck brother xD

  • I respect Sowell a lot. He is very thorough in his thought process and research.

  • To the person who made this vid: Why did you show a photo of boys when discussing the 'lazy goof' (2:48), but when contrasting with the 'person' who works hard, show a picture of a girl? The femenazis just gave you a pat on the head.

  • @Andybaby Take a closer look at that photo and you will find a female between the guys. Also, it was most likely an arbitrary choice, the photos depict what was being discussed irrespective of sex.

  • @Killedkennyagain

Tbh, when he showed the pic of the goofballs, and I knew that coming up was the contrasting image(representing the 'good' student ), I thought .. no.. he's not going to go all 'white knight' put the chick in there is he.. and damn (!) there it was. Modern Chivalry means it wasn't an option to show dumb ugly drunk bimbos, and contrast them to handsome studious men.

  • @Andybaby I understand what your saying, I think the only way to be completely fair and not get anyone upset is to use the same person in both instances. One pic goofing off & the other studying hard. I don't tend to see these kind of differences when I'm trying to grasp the ideas of what he is saying. I do however when it is a blatent attempt to make the distinction apparent to the viewer. Mr. Sowell I believe, wouldn't have even given this any thought before hand.

  • A legend!

  • Is he suggesting that WW2 wasn't a just cause and failed to help democracy in the world? (1.38)

  • @LibertyPen

meant to ask before but what is the music at the start of the video?

  • Thought the video was going to be about currency. Great job, nonetheless. Keep up the good work, people! :)

  • Quickly becoming one of my favorite channels, here.

Keep it up LibertyPen. It's appreciated.

  • Speaking of words, what is government? It is a group of people who have been sanctioned with the imaginary "right" to initiate coercion against society.

Time to grow up and rid ourselves of this psychological disease.

  • So I just read today that Sowell supports Gingrich?? The fuck is he thinking?

  • @Luke

He doesn't support Gingrich. That's just idiots taking an article out of context. He wrote a nice article putting in perspective Gingrich and Romney...and Obama. And in it, he made out Gingrich obviously to be the better of the 3 (which I agree). But people are passing it off as an all out endorsement of Gingrich. He didn't endorse Gingrich. He just made an article putting things in perspective that was more or less favorable to Gingrich.

  • @wengete THAT'S INTERESTING, BECAUSE I JUST HEARD NEWT ON HANNITY CLAIMING IT AS AN ENDORSEMENT.....IM A LIBERTARIAN FOR RON PAUL..SO I'D BE INTERESTED ON WHAT'S THE DEAL THERE.

  • @Lukeor An intellectual supporting another intellectual. Not really surprising.

Don't tell me you actually thought that Thomas Sowell would vote for Ron Paul?

  • @gshooting Gingrich is an intellectual based on what? His adoration of FDR?

  • Our society is so far detached from REALITY that we don't even realize the TRUTH when it's staring us in the face. Are we the architect of our own destruction?

  • @dreygore

Yes, we are the architect of our own destruction. If America goes down the shit hole, it will be because some majority of its citizens have devolved into blithering morons, susceptible to even the most crass demagoguery.

Effectively, Marx has killed more people than anyone else in history. He planted a virulent meme in the human conscious, and I will not be surprised if it eventually leads to the annihilation of 2/3 of the world's population in a single generation.

  • Paul / Sowell 2012!

  • Sniff sniff, yep I agree, I smell trolls.

  • @UcanbeGOD Why does that obligate others to be his slave?

  • Equality (social justice) aught not be about everyone 'being' equal, or otherwise being 'made' equal. Equality aught be about everyone simply having equal 'rights'. That most emphatically does not mean the 'disadvantaged' being given 'more' rights at the expense of everyone else. Any attempt to legislate such a transfer of rights inevitably creates far more harm than good, often to the very people such attempts are designed to advantage.

  • thomas sowell is much smarter than ron paul.

  • @xHippieHunter That could be true, but who is he not smarter than? Read Jim Cardoza "Why The Tea Party Should Champion Ron Paul" at the LibertyPen link in the video description.

  • @LibertyPen I'm totally smarter, and more humble too!

  • @LibertyPen

It's ludicrous that you would advise the Tea Party to back a delusional candidate (Ron Paul) who is so narcissistic he would throw this country into destruction for the sake of his own vanity!

The fact alone that Ron Paul would consider running "third party" proves that he cares more about himself than the country. Running third party would HAND THE PRESIDENCY BACK TO BARACK OBAMA and lead to our economic destruction!

Ron Paul and his zombie followers can go to hell.

  • @UncleIrv I doubt that any other candidate will push for actual solutions than Ron Paul.

  • @UncleIrv

Maybe if you stopped listening to Zionist neoconservatives like Hannity and Levin, and you started studying some history, you might stop falling for their lies & propaganda.

You can check my page for quite a few links that should get you started in questioning your propaganda sources.

    -

  • @kmg501 Here's a question - if Pau is for freedom why support OWS which is openly marxist? Or is asking that too "Jewish" or something?

  • @Hellfireblogs

Just because you support freedom of assembly and speech doesn't mean that you agree with the view point being espoused.

    -

  • @kmg501

For your information, I am not only a student of history but a part-time teacher of it.

If you think I'm believing "lies and propaganda," go out on a limb and point out those specific facts you think I believe (as if you know) which have their sole source in lies and propaganda.

Yes, I've checked out your link, and you are a bigoted Jew-hater and a conspiracy nut. You should just stay on board that next UFO that abducts you.

  • @UncleIrv

Jews are single-handedly the most politically active group in the world and much of the world's problems can be laid directly at their feet. I don't care what people like you call me because every day I see more & more people waking up to the facts of a Zionist Occupied Government, not just here in American but in other countries as well.

I can also document the fact that the regions with the highest population of Jews have the least economic & personal freedom.

  • @0HippyHunter0

Thirty years of "my" foreign policy? Sorry to complicate your Manichean dichotomy, but I am not supporter of neo-con interventionism. I do support common sense.

If you think ANY external policy has "led to" a nuclear Iran, you are frankly an idiot. Islamic ideology has been hell-bent on spreading tyranny for 13 centuries.

And if the Islamic regime is contemplating "the threat of imminent US invasion," it is solely a consequence of their own genocidal paranoia.

  • @UncleIrv "Common sense" which means "ignoring history so I can have an orgasm thinking about forcing Iran to my will." Why didn't "Islamic ideology (wtf that is) produce a nuclear Saudi Arabia? They are by fare the wealthiest, most stable? Why not them? Why not Turkey? They're to blame now? Isn't it you saying "bomb them"? Or did I miss the part where you retards have been saying that for over 30 years? How about we use the Golden Rule? How would you feel if it were the US being pushed around?

  • @0HippyHunter0 stolen my name I see... I hope you mean it.

  • @0HippyHunter0

LOL. You are obviously a know-nothing nutjob with your head completely up your ass.

You ask, "Why didn't Saudi Arabia go nuclear?"

Is this kindergarten? Saudi Arabia is in the hands of a moderate minority regime that sold out to western profits and rules with an iron rod. Did you miss the fact that over 90% of the 911 jackers were Saudi?

Your infantile moral equivalence only works in the land of rainbows and unicorns in your mind. Out here, we live in reality.

  • @UncleIrv MODERATE!?!?! BBBBBAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Ass clown, pick up a book before you post more sheer stupidity. An "iron rod"? Prove that statement. Where could you possibly get this kind of stupid? Is it an infection? Is part of your brain missing? 9/11 hijackers? Are you sane, sir? Seriously, are you sane? This is not the post of a sane person, its the post of an ignorant partisan who knows next to nothing about the MENA.

  • @0HippyHunter0

Obviously, when I said "moderate" in reference to Saudis, I meant RELIGIOUSLY moderate. See, it would help if you paid attention to your own words (quote: "Islamic ideology") which I was RESPONDING to. They pursue and kill militant Wahhabists. In the middle east, that's moderate.

Are you questioning that the 911 jackers were mainly Saudi? We have their fucking identities, you moonbat psycho.

And as I said REPEATEDLY, I am not a backer of the current GOP field.

  • @UncleIrv I know what you meant, thats why I laughed directly at you. Moderate Islam in SA? Are you insane? They pursue and kill anyone who doesn't toe the line. SA may be the most extreme in the region second only to the Taliban. I am not questioning where they were from genius, I'm wondering "what the fuck do they have to do with anything?". I don't care who you back, you still have no clue what is happening in the MENA because somebody hasn't told you what to think yet. Read history...really

  • @0HippyHunter0

Sure, turn me on to some of your wacko conspiracy theorist literature.

You wouldn't know history if it happened in your parent's basement where you live.

  • @UncleIrv Thats awsome. Try this: The Government and Politics of the Middle East and North Africa (Long & Reich). Its a book, or "propaganda" as you call it. Be sure to get the latest edition. That should help you immensly when it comes to your rampant and aggressive ignorance on the MENA.

  • @UncleIrv are you nuts?! what difference does it make if gingrich rommney or obomba win? Same shit different asshole. RP has my vote

  • @natritious1

Let's clarify. It DOES make a difference whether "Gingrich, Romney or Obama" win.

Personally, I don't like ANY of these ass hats. But the fact is, at least if a Repub gets in, we can more effectively ROPE THEM IN by electing non-establishment candidates to CONGRESS, and we can keep the Supreme Court safe from more statist puppets.

But it is clear that Paul would literally throw the entire country into default and anarchy rather than accept a hit to his ego.

  • @UncleIrv Very cogent. Thanks for the reply. I was just under the impression that we're headed for a huge crash one way or another. The longer we kick the can down the road, the worse it will be. I could be wrong though. Either way, we're in for one helluva interestin year!

  • @UncleIrv No, that isn't what he is doing. The 2012 election will be between a big goverment, war mongering liberal and a big government, war mongering, liberal. That isn't a choice. He is the only candidate I trust to pass a balanced budget amendment, pull our troop back, and move the fed towards respecting individual liberties. A vote for anyone else is a vote for the opposite of those. That is YOUR fault, not his.

  • @0HippyHunter0

If you can't see that a second term of Barack Obama would be THREE TIMES more destructive than ANY other option, you are as infantile and narcissistic as your nut-job candidate Ron Paul.

MY fault? That there is no better choice? Exactly how? I have done nothing to campaign for any of these candidates in the field, and it is not my field of choice.

I will not vote for Romney or--God help us--Gingrich. The others I could stomach. Ron Paul can suck my teabag.

  • @UncleIrv I look at what G.W. did, another Institution Republican, and I cant tell him from BO. Massive deficits, wars without end or reason, benefits for their political friends. The fact is this: if the Republicans will nominate a fiscal conservative that isn't going to push 1950's social policy, I'll vote for him. Romney? Mr Obamacare himself. There is nothing about Romney that says "balanced budget".

  • @UncleIrv If Not Paul then who...? You are kinda funny tho Paul stands for what made this country Great . Free and the envy of the world..He is A Constitutionalists...Which is what gave us freedom..Individual FREEDOM ...That is what we had when we had freedom in this country...The right to live your life for you and NOT have to be a slave to a To Big Government with all there Big bail outs and taxes ..Really he is worth looking at..But I am open to looking at someone else ..WHO..?

  • @dmhappy2777

I agree that Ron Paul is right about 90% of the time. And I agree that he supports the founding principles.

What is the problem then? I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but he is literally DELUSIONAL on foreign policy. His thinking is so unrealistic and paranoid, it rules him utterly unfit for office.

Who then instead? ANY one that can at least be fenced in by the more libertarian people we can elect to Congress. But if Ron Paul puts Obama back in, WE ARE FUCKED.

  • @UncleIrv I understand your position, but I see Some Problems: Romney has historically behaved much like Obama, Gingrich is behaving more leftist & socialist & totalitarian every day & takes the opposite extreme to Paul saying things like the Patriot act isn't strong enough, Perry will do anything popular & Bachman promotes many non free state ideals. If we pick Paul then we can hope congress pays atttention & forces him to act when necessary by, say declaring war.

  • @BillyJoe1305

Gingrich Leftist and Socialist? Not really. Totalitarian/Authoritarian? Probably.

  • @Aphoresis He openly supported Obamacare, then didn't & if I recall correctly is back on board. He claims FDR was the best president this century, because he , quote "did bring us out of the depression." I think these things qualify him as a leftist.

  • @UncleIrv Delusional? To leave other countries alone is "delusional"? Go read your founding fathers, they wanted to leave other nations alone, too. Paranoid? Define that! How is it paranoid to say "lets leave other countries alone"? That is the opposite of paranoia. If we elect another liberal ass Instution Republican that starts massive wars and runs massive deficits WE ARE FUCKED.

  • @0HippyHunter0 Actually the founders were pragmatic men that believed in dealing with situations as they were, not living in an ideological fog of denial.

Yes, if we get a chance to go back in time we should never even step foot in the Middle East, but that's not going to happen.

I would have just let the Middle East just devovle after the Turks fell.

  • @0HippyHunter0

Ahhh, I see why you defend Ron Paul. Because YOU ALSO are delusional.

Your argument is fallacious because your premise is a straw man. To characterize our foreign policy as "not leaving other countries alone" is laughably dishonest.

It's more like "other countries won't leave US alone, so we respond." Whether our response is properly measured or limited is a legitimate question. But since you delusional types deal only in HYPERBOLE, you wouldn't understand.

  • @UncleIrv THAT'S BULLSHIT. The 'special interests' profit and benefit from the wars so the government and establishment media present manufactured war propaganda in order to persuade American citizens that the wars are just. Like when they presented lies about Saddam Hussein having weapons of mass destruction in order to get us into Iraq. It doesn't matter how articulate you are, you're still wrong.

  • @dubified89

Yeah, go on believing everything is just a big conspiracy. The only ones who will take you seriously are other wackos.

  • @LibertyPen

I agree.... Anyone who asks me who's the smartest man alive on the face of the planet today, with no hesitation I always say Thomas Sowell. His scholarly deep knowledge of so many different fields and areas is incredible. Thank God for him. Too bad there isn't a younger version of him because he's up there in age now.

  • @wengete how about Peter Schiff

  • @wengete:

"Too bad there isn't a younger version of him"

    Thomas Woods?

  • @LibertyPen haha I am just kidding I respect them both greatly although I do truly believe Thomas Sowell is much wiser than Paul but Paul is smart. I just like to get a good rile out of the hardcore Paul supporters...

  • @xHippieHunter Duh, Sowell was smart enough to not get into politics. Only a select few are dumb enough to go into politics.

  • @gskibum Yet its these dumb people that run the country.

  • @kmg501 Calm down I am just kidding I have been subbed to this channel for almost 3 years now so yes I am libertarian but I am much more of a Sowell fan than that of a Ron Paul fan I said this because about 6 months ago I saw some hardcore paul supporter like you call Sowell a neo con so it pissed me off so now I post that on all the Sowell videos to piss off people like you who call Sowell a neo-con.

  • @xHippieHunter I smell trolling :)))

  • @schmoukiz lol exactly that is what I tried to do and I clearly succeeded any minor insult to him they will go crazy the hardcore Paul supporters that is.

  • Comment removed

  • @xHippieHunter How do you know? He is politician he has to dumb down the arguments for the masses. Though I will tell you one thing they are both smart and they both know whats best for society.

  • @xHippieHunter Yeah Paul is way off on that whole 'military industrial complex' thing. No factual basis for that!

  • There are reasons that one person will never be successful and those reasons are genetic.

  • @UcanbeGOD Here is a story that is true but will discredit your argument..My cousin and I are exactly 1 yr apart..Both of us are well educated and both are from the exact same abusive situation growing up ...One of the 2 of us had a Millionaire as a father. One went to the best of Colleges One was able to fund and back a Idea for business ..One is very rich .The other is much more skilled and much smarter and does well ..However Opportunity has not been on his side...

  • @dmhappy2777 I don't see at all how that discredits my statement.

  • @UcanbeGOD We have the same genetics the only real difference between the two are Opportunity and resources...Both work very hard both have the same work ethics and both have strong communication skills...One had Opportunity and resources the other did not One is a multimillionaire one is not and all things was equal

  • @dmhappy2777 This is very true. I have a mulitude of ideas and visions but without money in my family I can do very little to change the things I believe to be wrong. It is sad, there is a geneous in the poverty stricken city that no one will ever hear of.

  • @dmhappy2777 C'est la vie.

  • @xUbastardx TRUE.... but it still is not Genetic ....
