In Saskatchewan large trucks are encouraged not to "slam on the breaks" like the cop wanted him to. besides the other traffic has to make sure the intersection is clear before proceeding.

I use to drive a Ford E-350 convoying ceramics and mortar mixes, If I were to stop as soon as I saw a yellow, that would only call for trouble. wouldn't even stop at the line for that matter.

I have a CLASS A but currently drive a motorcoach, when approaching a stale green I take my foot off the gas and cover the brake, when I get to the point of no return I put the hammer down, some times the light will turn yellow but I made an attempt. Even if I was going 10-15 MPH and the light turned yellow and im halfway thru the intersection because I'm going so slow when it turns red, are they going to ticket me too?

i know if i would have tried to stop my front going that speed i would have lost at least a yard... the lights in my area change with sensors, it can turn green for me and a car will hit the sensor and turn red for me... it takes my truck a long time to gain speed but once i get to a point i'm commited to go through the intersection. luckily cops don't seem to bother us. plus you never win in traffic court...

I was given a ticket for disregarding a traffic signal. 3 points and a $280 fine. I fought it and lost. I appealed it, and lost again. This footage was shown in court both times. Next time I'll slam on my brakes, spill my load, and the cop can direct traffic the rest of the day while a crew comes out to clean it up. A ticket for an unsecured load is nothing compared to what I got hit with.

The cop IS an a**hole. I drive truck for a living, and many times as I approach a light I am too close to stop with a loaded trailer, and I run the yellow. It's unavoidable UNLESS I slow to 30 km/h at before every intersection... and who would be expected to do that? Add to the fact that this driver in the video is on WET roads... I guess the cop thinks that loaded cement trucks are as maneuverable as sport cars.
