I sold my GT5 a few months ago for a trade-in to get some other games. Later, I tried out FM3 because fans said it was so amazing. It's the worst fucking racing game of all time, and not just in the SIM category, but in the entire racing genre. It's so boring and easy with no variety (season mode). So, I heard that FM4 was better and got it in a buy 2 get 1 free deal. Minor differences, same shit. I wish I still had my copy of GT5, especially after seeing this amazing "free" update.

@Misfitgraves23 As much as I love Gran Turismo 5, that's a serious underestimation. I play FM3 as much as I do GT5 and they are both very similar. The driving gameplay in FM3 isn't as good as GT5, sure. But doesn't make it the crappest racing game of all time? (Don't bother making a huge fuss about it, I can't bother arguing with biast people lol :P)

I personaly don't think it's fair to compare Forza And GT Forza a great game and so is GT but, GT has been around for 14 years more giving it that ability to try ideas and building on their failures while forza has only been around for 6.

If the Interior isn't of an open top car, its pointless. Why Couldnt PD take more time in giving every premium car rally car damage and atleast put in some new cars, maybe Gumpert Apollo would be nice?

@schlep18, you have no idea how long it takes to model one of the cars in GT5, PD have said it takes at least a month to do the cockpit in premium standard. When you think of that, they must take maybe 3 month to do the models, another to do the physics.

@rivengle As far as I know they both have virtually the same capabilities and the Xbox actually has a slightly more powerful graphics card vs the PS3 having a slightly more powerful porcessor. If you have proof, a website or something, please share. And that aside it is true because it's car models have 1,000,000 polygons vs Gran Turismo 5's premium 500,000 polygons.

The ingame models for Forza 4 and GT5 are no where near that high. GT5 was like 100K counting both exteriors and interiors. Forza 4 was probably around the same general area. Developers now use updated shading techniques to make their models look more realistic. How do you think some GT5 standard cars with only 5K polygons look better than some of the Forza 3 car models that had like 30-40K?

The numbers they have claimed are only true for showrooms. During the race they both aren't anywhere near that high.

@MegaShot419 Actually GT5 polygon count in game stay very close to the same. It is 500,000 in the show room and around 400,000 in game. That's why in FM3 the cars in the showroom looks very great but in game they sucked because it went from just about 200k to 50k. GT5 standard cars are like 10k-50k or something like that not sure.

@AventadorNZ For FM3 I just typed in real polygon count in google, For GT5 I just typed in the same thing too. The standard cars i'm not even sure about. But by observation I can tell that the polygon count in GT5's prem car have to be close to the original count because they look very close to what you see in the show room and in game. They are not drastically different like in FM3 where in the showroom it's super awesome then when you play you lose a lot of the detail.

I read both the FM3 and GT5 figures before from somewhere, but I never read about GT5 standard car poly count. A lot of people guessed it was the same as GT4 but there is no way they are only 5k polygons considering. Even with advanced shading techniques.

@MegaShot419 I think they have to be more than 5k because some of the standard cars actually look great like the Vanquish and the NSX road car. Plus in those to you can see some detail in the cockpits when looking from the outside. I've seen someone say they're 100-150k and I was like heck no they aren't. I mean if they where that they wouldn't look so bad. I'm guessing they're might be less than 80k

Even a 2005 game (PGR3) had like 80,000 polygons counting both (exteriors and interiors). It depends on the car though and how many polygons is actually needed. I'd guess about 50K-60K for most standard cars, 80K for those that have interior detail.

they added an interior view, they didn't revamp each of the standard car's skins. This is a free update that most people are waiting for, so I'm not complaining.

@lemans24fan Actually they did revamp some of the cars beforehand, because they look 10X better than they did a year ago. I want to to just some the pixelation out. The simplified cockpit view is ok with me, but in some standard cars who have a roof you can actually see the dashboard and steering column, which leads to the question of why are all of them fully blacked out?

By the way, the way PD makes premium cars makes it impossible to copy models unless they are exact or they have slight differences, otherwise, they have to be made from scratch.

The physics, the overall standard cars feels incredible with the on-board view now. My G27 feels better than ever. I played all day long and i love even more my GT5. The best on-board views are mostly the cars with no roof like the Caterham, the LM race cars and the FGT. Amazing. The camera view angles are the best. And now when you look in the mirrors you actually see the back clearly. And more to come people.

@supra1722 Who knows about it. I´m not sure if that conversion can be possible. But i´m sure about more content in the near future and more (sadly) DLC content. I said sadly because we have to pay but also this days we have to pay for everything, so at least to me paying for GT5 content is not a big deal. Spa looks great and Space Kart track too. The 125 kart sounds and looks amazing. And the car pack is pretty good and it is the first of more car packs. More to come as i said.

@supra1722 And download it (spec 2.0) but also has some bugs still that will be fixed in 2 more weeks now (as Kaz stated on twitter). Some bugs are: with the G27 buttons, freezing screens when loading some tracks and an error with the in save races (resistance 9hs or 24hs). And many minor bugs. But go on. The physics are better now and more things you will notice for sure.
