Things change so gradually that our current national debt of $16 Trillion will be "no big deal" in another 20 years, but we'd better start cutting our Federal budget by about 5% per year, and cut it soon or we really will be screwed!!

100 years ago you could buy two really nice suits for a $20 gold piece. You still can. The value of things hasn't really changed much, except for the value of the "Federal Reserve Note". It's counterfeit currency, not real money. The Federal Reserve, and it's fake money scam was created by "Progressives" (aka Marxists) so that Big Brother can steal value as it chooses from everyone simply by printing more for it's own use.

Money ISN'T the reason people can't eat! That's the point. We make that association because we may sometimes skip a big mack because we are shot of cash. But where people are starving it's all because of politics, natural disaster, or choice on their part. Throwing money at them does no good and often just makes matters worse. We have millions of starving people in the world because we have given handouts and encouraged them to breed more.

As much as I think it's an insane society that pays people million$ to toss a ball around, labor is like everything else, it's value it determined by the willingness of the buyers. If people are willing to pay that much for it, no problem. I wouldn't pay more than a couple of bucks to watch a game or buy anything just because some jock got a gig endorsing it. But many do, and it's their money to spend as they please.

As an example, the massive debts created in wwI, wwII, vietnam and the cold war are irrelevant today due to gdp growth and inflation.
