Yes, buy a car built in the USA by American workers. Like NISSAN, HONDA, and TOYOTA. ALL HAVE MODELS BUILT IN AMERICA... GM, Ford, and Chrysler all have models built in Mexico or Canada. Imports didn't kill domestics outrageous UAW wages did!
This is simple, profits from a foreign car built in this country are still calculated and totaled in Yen not Dollars. Also those manufacturers do without many of the legacy costs & have been given huge tax breaks for plants that the US mfgs have not. Several GM and Ford Brands currently rank ahead of those other makes in long term and initial quality in the latest JD Power reports. Spend your money where you want it's a free country. hopefully your job is in the one where the money goes.
@skipp71 "This is simple" No it is NOT simple it's far more complicated than you think "Also those manufacturers do without many of the legacy costs & have been given huge tax breaks for plants that the US mfgs have not." They haven't been given any breaks at all. I don't know who originally spread the myth about it. If there is anyother company right now getting off the hook easy. It would be GM and Chrysler. They've made many heaps of junk in the past. and refused to refresh their lineup.
@skipp71 "Several GM and Ford Brands currently rank ahead of those other makes in long term and initial quality" Every car i see wins an award for some type of "quality" But after sifting past all the bullshit. You start to truly see where it really counts in terms of "quality" since there are many categories on the same definition.
Most "Import" cars these days are more American than GM and Chrysler products. They have more parts built and made here than anywhere else.
