English is perhaps the most elastic, changing language there is and we have to understand that words have multiple meanings based on how we've used them over time. I mean where do you think ALL slang comes from?

Lucky for you you are able to stand up for yourself if someone says something demeaning about being gay. Unfortunately for the disabled, they aren't as lucky. I think it's important to stand up for my sister when someone tries to take away her dignity with a casual remark.
