apple had no gui BEFORE seeing the xerox parc one. I said that: due to their presence at a presentation by Xerox in which they basically got all the info they needed to make their own.

anyways when alls said and done it doesn't really matter practically every OS has a GUI now and that's probably thanks to apples usage of it.Though I still like the shell and command line personally ;-) that real greendragonexcom i agree with you!

Please get over this ANCIENT copy-paste thing. Everyone knows that Apple pumped the GUI idea from Xerox. The good thing about it, is that they tried to render it accessible to everyone and I doubt that the Xerox original one really was ... Someday, someone'll come and tell that OS X (wich is just a sexed-up copy of NextOS wich Apple bought for $400m just to get Mr Jobs back) has other origins ... that's the way the computer industry works, everyone copy everyone to keep only good ideas ...

OSX is certainly my favourite commercial OS of recent years but I tend to lean more towards Open Source operating systems you know BSD,Linux,etc.But one thing is for sure OSX does kick ass! as an OS

well my uncle used to work for xerox at the time so forgive me if I believe him more than a Youtube video.Especially since their was stuff going on in the background at the time at xerox with apple (apparently)that wasn't in the video btw are you this aaron556 dude or the accounts creator? Technically they didn't 'give it to Apple' Apple had already developed their GUI interpretation before they had the rights to it and Xerox later on (after much heated talks with Jobs)let apple have the GUI,however apple had already made it due to their presence at a presentation by Xerox in which they basically got all the info they needed to make their own without having the source code to it.This is why apple's initial implementation of the GUI looks different to Xerox's
