no need to look in stores, just download steam.

with steam, you can download Valve games, but there's much more than that. there are games from many other retailers, and every now and then you are given the opportunity to download and play a demo for a game (for a limited time)

there are also demos you can find that are accessable as long as you have the demo downloaded.

I use steam for all of my games. also, for mac users, steam is now compatible with the mac system (strangely)
