  • lol assive ? great guide :D

  • oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold

  • It sucks imo that shield tanking is primarily for PvE and armor for PvP (solo speaking).

I love shield tanking, but only Caldari specialize in them, so not only are my med modules taken, but the ships suck for pvp point blank (missiles in pvp? lol).

  • @UnknownXV

yeah which is why i was cross trained in everything except amaar .. thermal and em damage laser only, so easy to tank against them before they started using missile tech...IMO... autocannons (mimitar), if your serious about pvp this is the way to go. some mim ships are shield tankers ie a drake\cyclone, you just cant beat a flying brick.. In saying that speed and cap are life. speed dictates the field you choose to battle on and cap gives you all options without it there is only one

  • i miss the old fitting screen

  • Nice vid

  • lol, great video

    stop saying "MEOW" (NOW)

  • Im no expert but im pretty sure theres a huge diference in boosting shields and boosting armor HP. Boosting shields boosts your peak shield recharge aswell which is a viable form of tanking. While boosting armor HP is pointless unless you need it to survive burst of dps. To attain sustainable armor tank there are only 2 options. Double rep + cap recharge boost or 1 rep + stacked resistances.

  • Then again if you have a lot of low slots but no real need of a capacitor like a Myrm with projectile guns they make passive shield tanks that can challenge a Drake, 75% as effective passive shield but 2x the DPS so makes up.

  • little point about 'active' and 'passive' shield tanks - if you are using boosters its an active tank, if you are using extenders, rechargers and relays (lowslot item) with the intention of raising your recharge rate, thats a passive tank.

Whether you use 'active' or 'passive' shield hardeners has no relevance to your tank being a 'passive' or 'active' tank.

  • Gah! I was doing it all wrong armor tanking for missions. I like this idea better + my Cyclone has 1 more med slot than low. Sweet video!

  • Holy Crap! This game is fckn complicated!

  • @crazymonkeyFTW welcome to the 'real' learning curve of Eve :D

  • thanks, ive played for 2+ years, and saw your video on pos deployment, which i and some ancients will be doing soon, loved it, so i watched all of your videos, i could find, great sources, and i direct some newer players to watch. speeds up everything and cuts down on basic ?s. GREAT JOB, KEEP THEM COMING.

  • yeah found they are quiet useful as a ceo for helping new pilots, rather than explaining it time and time again i can simply link a video to show them.

there will be more coming, next is gatcamping in lowsec, which im currently editing so will be available soon enough.

  • You can open the ship fitting screen in space with ctrl-shift-f. There is even an icon on the neocom panel for it now.

  • Well done, keep the good work going!

  • EVE is a complicated game, so clips like this really help the new players...

    Good job Dude!

  • great vid... i learned a couple things i didnt know.

  • This has been amazingly useful. I'm a new player and I really need help on tanking. I'll definitely take your advice. Thanks for posting!

  • thankyou, Parabueto was wondering if anyone was getting much out of these, have done a number of lessons now with afew more to come, but little feedback.

Good to know that its helped you, will do more but need to get abit more isk together first.
