  • I've now been inspired... to draw trees. O: Gonna go do that now. Thanks for the video. Very helpful. :)

  • umm what type of brush is that? it looks amazing

  • is watercolor paper very important? i've been painting on normal paper and they usually dont turn out right :/

  • @misty308 Yes, watercolor paper is important. Regular paper will just get wavey and wrinkled. Normal paper absorbs too much water. It is not thick enough to withstand watercolor. You can go to a local art supply store or order it online and purchase it.

  • brilliant...very helpful video thankyou so much..sir peter

  • simple and strong method *Subscribed* :)

  • nice tree demostration.,i inspire u?

  • wonderful

    i like it

  • Thank you for your excellent instruction. I study my trees every day. Now, will I be able to paint a tree? That is the question...

  • this video was EXCELLENT !

  • wow this is awesome thnx for uploading

  • beautiful art and helpful video! thanks

  • Danke für die kleine Vorführung

  • Wow very smple i like it

  • All you have to do is use 3 different green shades in the Prang watercolor 16 color tray. Don't get complicated with yourself with all those pre-mixing color.

  • trees are the most beautiful things in nature

  • Ok - sorry, I misunderstood...

I use SAA Artist watercolour (see saa.co.uk), and Winsor & Newton Artist watercolour. I also use tubes instead of pans - that may be part of your problem - if they're drying with a dirty finish, that would usually point to dodgy pigment, not a paper issue - I'd recommend buying a new set of paints (preferably Artist quality).

  • @peterwoolleyartist

I ve tried so many types of paper and colors that i almost feel like giving up. it looks nothing like this tutorial, and i mean how the color spot spreads on paper, not the tree itself. It's true that i used only dry cubic watercolors of different brands, so i'll give it a try with tubes (even if i associate them with tempera, which i don't like).

Thanks so much for your help :)

  • thanks for the info

but i mean what are the brands you're using? because i'm using some staedtler dry watercolors and i'm not happy with the results. the colors dry with a weird dirty look, but maybe that's because i'm using the wrong paper too (150 gr)

  • hey this is nice. i so tried to follow this as a tutorial and i got it all wrong. im afraid i might use the wrong paper and color. can u tell me what do u use? thx

  • you make it seem so easy!

  • *****
