At this time we had to wait for the singers appear on the TV to see them, but we were happier than today where we have access to any video and show what we want.
Neste tempo tínhamos que esperar os cantores aparecerem na TV para vê-los, mas éramos mais felizes que hoje onde temos acesso a qualquer video e show que queremos.
...HAW! Never noticed this before, but Brian's wearing one of those NBC jackets with the "Return of the Peacock" logo! Wonder if he knows those things go for about $500 or so on the collectables market these days?
@ClassicRawkk Yeah, I'm talking about the original song. Duh. :P This live performance blows away what they did when they recorded the song in the studio. A major step-up if you ask me. This live gig here is TONS more fun than what's out there today. :)
@rockgirl2wildfire Oh ok, because I keep seeing comments from people saying that Elvis sang this first when in fact he had been dead for 2 years when Freddie wrote the song.
@ClassicRawkk Really? I never heard anybody say that Elvis was the one that did this song first. You are right about it being attributed to him by Mr. Freddie, though. I always imagined this song being sung by Elvis in my head.
@hitcan79 Uh, I already said that I was referring to the original track done by the BAND. I never said that Elvis sung it first. I don't know where people get this impression that I said Elvis sung it first. Clearly, he didn't, but it's ATTRIBUTED to the style established by Elvis. Obviously, Freddie penned this song with Elvis in mind. He was trying to mimic Elvis's style. It's a tasty, rollicking ode to '50's Rock & Roll. :D
@rockgirl2wildfire oh sorry man, yes I know what you mean there... Shit my bad. ya I agree with ya 100%, I think he really liked Elvis, I saw him sing an Elvis song or two while on stage.. sorry I misunderstood, And he did a great job writing this song right down to mimicing the style, you can really tell it's got that 50's rock style in it, sorry again man...
This is a GREAT performance. Freddy is, imo, the best front man in music history. He was talented, knew how to work the stage, and truly connected with the audiance. Didn't matter if they were playing to 10 people or 100,000 people. Great band.
Fred Mandel is such a fantastic musician and Obviously Queen.

@rockgirl2wildfire What do you mean "the original"? Freddie is the original singer of this song. He wrote it in 1979 as a tribute to Elvis Presley.

@ClassicRawkk ...Actually, the song was written with an Elvis tribute in mind. Damn good song no matter how you slice it, tho :)
