  • so going to try this...

  • This really works, your neighors think you're nuts but what the hey life is short. I did this outside and I felt like Snow White. Not only did the chickadees and titmice visit. A male and female red bird, wren, song sparrow, and a few squirrel. The squirels sat there motionless just staring like what is wrong with you. But the Chickadees did answer back.

  • @stayAU A few years ago I had a similiar experience with some woodpeckers and northern cardinals. It's actually quite an amazing experience, as I'm sure you had.

  • I LOVE nature, but I believe there are plants, animals and humans!

  • Chances are good that if one lands on you or hovers in front of you that they have been fed by hand before.

  • I love these little birds, I put bird seed out for all kinds of birds. I live in Michigan and they are quite a few here... thanks for the bird calls , I will see if they answer me..

  • If you call them, they'll respond and come

I do it all the time

  • fun thanks. : )

  • My video response is a demonstration of how they come and feed in your hand.

  • residents to many parts of N. America,.....hmm....after readin' some comments that explains why they're not found in SE Utah or southern north america(Mexico)! Nice bird, maybe one day i'll be able to go to Canada and visit my cousin and her husband, they live in the country! btw,.....Canadians have accents?!!! They sound american to me, but then i'm just a utah hillbilly!LOL!

  • Im gonna try that call. =D

  • We have a ton of black-capped chickadees where I live... I'm definitely going to try that call.... but I have a friend who can do perfect bird calls, including the chickadee's (that "chicka-dee-dee-dee-dee-dee" sound). Lol do you think that call would attract the chickadees as well, or scare them away?

  • probably attract

  • the person who did this, this is a good info movie

  • We live in N. Carolina and have Carolina Chikadees. They differ only slight from the Black Capped. Their song is a little different and they have no buff color on their sides like the Black Capped. Sometimes we have a dozen or more at our feeders and bird bath. There are no black Caps in our area, they have a more northern a western range.

  • Did you know that the Carolina and Black Capped Chickadees sometimes hybridise with one another? I wonder what the cross looks like.

  • I love Chickadees!! Notice my user name? My dad taught me how to hand-feed them when I was a kid. I love the feel of their dear little feet on my fingertips. Once I was sunbathing and reading, holding a book; and one landed on my arm. They tame easily. They also cheer up my winter days. Thanks for the great video!

  • Your welcome! They too cheer up my winter days, although I find they are always around in the Fall -- maybe that's just me.

  • Great clip! Very educational! Enjoyed it. And for the person below, my response to you is......so????

  • You sound so normal, and then you say "out" or "about!"

  • Hmm, I've never noticed the difference.

  • I hope you weren't offended or anything by my comment. I'm slightly perplexed why people seem to think I meant something nasty by it . Usually I can pick up on Canadian accents before the telltale 'about' but with you I couldn't.

  • I didn't take it offensively. I suppose you could say my accent is a mix of Eastern Canadian and Mid Atlantic American, which is likely why you didn't pick up on it at first.

  • Did it ever occur to you that he may be Canadian?

  • Tnx Man.. That was interesting.

    Can't wait to try it.

Do u how to call CArdinals too?

  • Unfortunately, no.

  • cute 'dees!

  • Very usefull info, i will try to talk with them, check out my BCC video,Chickadee's House,

    lenscapped

  • it's very interesting.
