O my, hot delicious bread and you didn't eat it right away. That is what I call self-control! I hope the mac and cheese was a good as you hoped it would be.
my friend likes to just dump the powder on without milk or butter. sounds crazy, but I tried it. not too bad. and of coarse if your canadian, you gotta put ketchup on it. (I have an american friend who puts mustard on it. that's even weirder) XD
I don't need to smell it, but that's not sugar on your bread. That is salt. I'm calling it. Let's be honest - Shufu (housewives) take their roles seriously. Having spent enough time in Japan and experienced this first hand, I now know that it is what it is. They show up at nine (with the kids), and don't get in their way, Time service desu!
I wonder though, with 7000 doughnuts, how are you going to eat that bread. I know, it's tempting right? Japan knows how to make bread delicious.
@Dax893 japan knows how to make bread delicious huh. bread isn't native to japan though, right? I'm just commenting on the irony. japan knows how to make everything better though.
@MurdocLC your not from the west are you murdoc? <3 the cheese is like a cheese sauce. kraft macaroni and cheese is the popular store bought brand. the cheese comes powdered in a little packet, and you put it on the macaroni after it's cooked and mix it with a little butter and milk. not the healthiest thing in the world but it is popular. and in canada we love putting ketchup on it. :d
@fmusopp Haha, no I'm from Sweden. ^^'> Mhm I see. Never seen anything like that, but I wanna try it. Something we do in Sweden is a stew where u mix milk and flour with the macaroni, I love that.
It that first bun you showed melon bread? also maybe you can try buttermilk which is really a type of yoghurt heard that's friendly to intolerant people.
@Tekkon123 They do, sometimes at convenient stores, but mostly (at least in my part of Japan), you get them at the movies. Cinnamon, chocolate, and sometimes seasonal flavors like strawberry or maple (that one was AWESOME). They're also called 'churritos' here, and the one you get at Tokyo Disney is mickeymouse head-shaped. :)
When ever I hear bread and grocery store in the same sentence I think of Wal Mart and the guy that yells, " HOT FRESH BREAAAAD! " Did you ever remember a guy like that?
Also, do you like your Mac and cheese thick or more milky?
It's okay, I work in a bakery so I know the smell. :D I've been there for 2 years now, and pretty sure I've gained about 20 pounds since my time here. >.< Hahahaha
This is coming up a lot in the comments. But: I am not VIOLENTLY lactose intolerant. In a given day, I can have milk in small quantities or a slice of cheese. I CAN'T have a glass of milk or a bowl of ice cream. So the few tablespoons of milk needed in Kraft Mac&Cheese won't actually hurt me.
But, when I DO need a glass of milk or bowl of ice cream, I do have lactaid.
@meaphe Have you tried keeping either evaporated milk or dry milk around for those occasions you need some for a recipe? Although they do taste a little cooked if you were to just drink either after using water to get the proper consistency, since they're usually cooked in recipes I find it doesn't matter. I assume they have something along those lines at Japanese stores.
I actually am lactose intolerant, and I can eat it with regular milk. People who are Lactose intolerant can have milk, just in small amounts. I love mac and cheese, and even though I can't eat it as much as I used too, (even more now since my medication aggravates my food allergies, apparently. )=) I can still tolerate it some. Just can't have anything with milk in it after that
LOL that kid had never seen a foreigner before.

See this is why you get the version with the sauce pack already in it. You open it up and mix it together, then consume.

@meaphe Yeah, I'm mildly lactose intolerant myself. The worst that happens to me is that I get really gassy. Not that you need to know that.

If you're lactose intolerant than how can you eat cheese and the milk you're putting in it?
dkamm65 1 month ago
@dkamm65 if it's the kraft brand it's probably not actually cheese, more like cheese flavored powder.
Lindybugg 1 month ago
@dkamm65 lactose intolerent people can still eat cheese, the hard cheeses.
Most likely she has a pill for it. There is a pill that lessens the symptoms of it so that after eating it, it isn't as bad.
