  • there's a cunt rioting (oh yeah) near pimlico,

    Oh ohh,

    oo oho fuck no..

  • The elegance of Simphonic rock. Thanks a lot for sharing.

  • I agree with Buglebogue below, The epic subtle humor in the song is harder to get with the truncated lyrics. It's actually a very funny song. "the girl" or the far out music I enjoy in my car". The answer is painfully clear, and not by choice. Many people of a certain age have fond memories of long ago driving around with a sountrack to life blasting in high fidelity "on the radio".

  • Luv this..... x

  • Paul thompson about to bid adieu here

  • LUBBERLEE

  • There's a song, playing... on the radio! :)

  • doubt if you`ll ever hear this sort of music again..

  • This song and 'Dance Away' are my favourite Roxy songs .I cannot choose between them ;both are wonderful !

  • This song and band are legendary. I am just happy that I know about them and feel like they are a band that I "discovered on my own". No one that I know will listen to these guys on their own, which is sad because this is truly great music!

  • saw this band in the 70,s at leeds uni, brian ferry is still a looker!

  • I think this song & Avalon are the best Roxy Music have made. I still enjoy listening to them though. All the best

  • this is classic music, hope it stays with us forever unlike the shit simon cowell the dick churns out

  • Bryan Ferry still tours!! I must get to see him sooner rather than later while he still does the circuit. Bet he's still brilliant!

    Best wishes........Lee (Cornwall).

  • I agree- timeless music,a1 musicians to boot.Bloody great, takes me back to early teenage years :)

  • Just as fresh & brilliant today as in 1980 when I'd just left school & just started full time work & this was released the following week (August 1980). Don't make quality music like this nowadays!!

Live long & prosper Bryan & his band.

    Best wishes........Lee (Cornwall).

  • @lee3764 I was born in August 1980, so at least i appeared out in time for some decent music lol!

  • @TheAmy3338

Your an 80's baby! Great decade for music indeed. (There was some crap too but the music seemed to give you a sense of feeling good (feelgood factor) which is unfortunately all too rare in recent years.

Bryan Ferry still tours!! I must get to see him sooner rather than later while he still does the circuit. Bet he's still brilliant!

    Best wishes........Lee (Cornwall).

  • @lee3764 Sometimes being an aussie is not a good thing....we are so far away that we don't get to see artists like this very often.

  • Pure class!!!

  • can anyone remember the b side to this single, it was an intrumental and was fantatic

  • @ucl1964 The B-Side to "Oh Yeah" was an instrumental track named "South Downs".

  • what a great song love Bryan Ferry's voice soooo much

  • Style and class never goes out of fashion, this is just brilliant !1

  • He was adorabe then and still is now. This is timeless. Brilliant. Thank you.

  • I think that the beauty of Ferry and Roxy Music is that you can't really tie their music to a particular era; they're timeless.

  • Just class!

  • @philjwhite

time machine of a song ! It was on the radio each morning i picked up the papers for delivery in 1980 and I am there now , Thanks !

  • Don't know what to say...there are no words to describe how much I love this song!

  • I grew up on this music. Long may it continue..... absolutely classic!!!

  • Best song on the album "Flesh and Blood"...Went to Hawaii in Fall of '85, and this cassette never left the cassette player of the rental car...Viva Roxy Music!!

  • war eine tolle musik danke

  • Roxy Music in zenith!

"Oh Yeah" is a genious song.

To share many times with our love

  • I dug up Roxy Music album in my neighbors shack and enjoyed its melody ever since. She said she bought it in Germany but somehow failed to appreciate it. Roxy Music didnt fare well in Manila then until Brian Ferry went solo with his hits "Dont stop the Dance" etc. As such, I became a secret fan of RM, telling friends that its just Brian Ferry with a band. Consequently, I gave away records of it by then famous cassettes to my love objects.

  • bring back the eighties!

  • I wish I could be like this old smoothster, lol, just for a while to see how well I did with the chicks! He never seemed to have his hair outta place and the songs, aaaaahhh!!

  • roxy music and Brian Ferry still groove even 20 years later... still sounds sweet and cool..( out of the gestures of Brian now, sweetly funny..) but great stuff forever however!!

  • Lol, what today's music is good. Can you name few artists :-)

  • Enjoyed my first kiss with this in the background. Thanks, Karen.

  • I took my first resl boy friend in 1971 or 1972 at Hollywood Paladium on Sunset Bl. Bryan Ferry, Eno all the gang played fantastic! He was a Jr. I was a Sophmore we kisssed all night!

  • Oooh -- cuts out the middle verse!

  • This is the first time I have listened to this song since my divorce 5 yrs ago and it is drowning the sound of my tears.

  • I have listened to this song for years and I still am not sick of it. One song that I will never over play.

  • Yes-great memories of the early 8Ties...and my ballroom dancing ;-),unfortunately it is too short.

  • Brings back so many great memories of 1980, Bryan and the boys were the most underated band of that era, an innocent quality that just won't be matched, great song

  • @antimanc9 Yes Roxy Music , Level 42 and Joe Jackson all great artists but sadly underated in their era

  • Yes, they would be underated today as well. It is because masses (people) will rather listen to "popular" bands like Rolling Stones that are on MTV showing 30 times per day, or in today days Beyonce.

  • Sheesh!I cannot stop playing this.Cool soo cool!

  • how can you have good memories if yah broke up?Great song though!

  • Comment removed

  • I was listening to this song in my car when i broke up with the love of my life...so long ago...I love this song...thanks for posting it..Memories are golden....

  • the roxy shalt not wear denim!!

  • this guys a smooth dude .roxy music have brought out some class songs over the years and this happens to be one.

  • @forestgumpaed. You're so right. This is Roxy Music at their sexiest pinacle, although Bryan's solo career continues to enchant and thrill me. Take care.

  • I always thought they were singing "For you".

imho, that should have been the name of the song: "For You", and not "Oh Yeah".

    Roxy Music 4ever.

  • lol i always thought that too, it fits better i think, still a great song

  • lol, me too

  • He's the best singer ever, and each musician is the very best at their trade. How could they not be uber music gods? There is no substitute for quality.....

  • great memories and a beautiful song. One of Roxy's best.

  • it's wonderful! просто чума, а не песня!

  • thank you!!

    very nice!!

  • I hear it in the car of my father the first time , and now 30 years later, i loved this song like past. What a wonderfull voice Mr.Ferry!!

  • one of the best songs i know

  • i love this song

  • Second verse is missing, the one that goes 'and so it came to be our song; and so on through all summer long; day and night, drifting into love; driving you home from a movie show, so in tune to the sounds in my car.........'

This song gives me a lump in my throat because of the memories it brings back.

  • Almost all of the text and the video is upside down? I am not high. Is this a wierd quirk or just my computer or was this posted from Austrialia?

  • Was it like that on... say... April Fool's Day by any chance?

  • You got me there Gairim. Don't know if that's up there with your shoe is untied or not but I am a victim. Take care and be good.

  • Just a great feel-good song from one of my , I'm not sure it's all feel-good, but I love it anyway. Ferry is a classic.

  • What I wanna know is why Jerri Hall left him for Mick Jagger......OH Yeah!!!...She's a model....all beauty. no brains!

  • yeah but look at Jerry now.....Brian is still a great singer loaded with talent and looks great....Jerry......well lets just say the years havent ben so kind to her

  • I forgot how creepy Brian Ferry was all along... *LOL*

  • wonderful tune to drive long distances

  • I don't know why this rich tune never made it to the top 40 in America, it took a friend, very much in tune with music from England to introduce me to Roxy music in 1982.

  • "Der Musikladen (German: the music shop) was a West German music television programme that ran from December 13, 1972 to November 29, 1984. The show continued the 1960s Beat-Club under a new name, and in turn was replaced by Extratour."

Musikladen was the precursor to MTV and deserves full credit for creating the medium that grew the music video.

  • This ain't punk rock me boyo.

It's a pure love ballad to a summertime teenage romance that withered.

  • Yeah we all think you'r a COCK

  • if i had ferry's mouth for a day...

  • The King! Ferry!

  • MAJESTIC!

  • "Timeless" is exactly right. There haven't been many guys who could combine sensuality and romanticism as he has consistently through the years.

  • This song is great, both lyrics and music.

  • What a classic!!

  • erste Knutschparty in der Grundschule,

    ich glaub sie hieß Bianca....lol

  • Der Song ist ein Highlight der Musik.

  • Now this is proper, timeless music. Unlike that noise that they like to call music today. Roxy Music are legends.

  • @sully1865 awesome brian ferry makes a modern ladies man look like he's got no game!

  • For me this is one of Roxy Music's best ever songs. It's just absolutely beautiful!!

    Thanks for posting it.

  • nammyohorengekyolovelovelove

  • Agree with Honeybuns - a fantastic song, during a purple patch with "Dance Away" & "Over You". Great days.

  • This is one of the best songs ever recorded!

  • Good Call!

  • Check out Paul Carrack playing keyboards!

  • Roxy Music Forever... Love songs. The memories dessapears like tears in the rain... ;(

  • Killer chorus! Modern music is garbage!

  • Breaks my heart every time I hear it! Why can't we stay young forever?!

  • agreed, 100% -- unspeakably beautiful song.. it just rips me up inside, and i'm not sure why.

  • Glad you agree! This song is almost too much! All those emotions (usually associated with a specific person) come flooding back even though I'm now old and (going) gray! But, I guess Bryan Ferry is in the same boat, eh?

  • Oh yeah, I was 18 years old, this song always remeber to my first real love, these times where so beautiful...

  • sounds like "there is a bell playing on the radio", but that doesn´t make much sense!

Why DOES the song stop before its ending, that´s a mess! (sorry there was a mistake in my last comment!)

  • the lyrics are theres a band playing on the radio

  • sounds like "there is a bell playing on the radio", but that doesn´t make much sense!

Why do the song stop before its ending, that´s a mess!

but apart from this, it´s great!

  • the lyrics are 'there's a band playing on the radio'

and the song only stops on this viewing only fritz5153,who posted the song can answer that one, it doesn't end there on the recording.

  • dit is nog eens muziek om van weg te dromen

    leve de 80's

  • Ich liebe dieses Lied!

    I love this song!

    J´aime beaucoup cette chanson!

  • ich liebe es auch, es ist einfach wahnsinnig schön und ich war damals 18 Jahre alt...

  • Cool¡¡¡.
