I completed this on my first attempt. This version was so bad that Melbourne House even slipped in a bullshit apology note inside the box. The only other thing which this video didn't show you apart from the rest of the game is it's painful cassette multiload. The Moral of this story is; forget the hype, always read the review first. Bah!

It barely does better than the Atari 2600 version.

When you factor in the part where the Atari 2600 one is on an ATARI 2600 (older hardware by 5 years!), has ingame music + sfx (Wheres the tunes on the C64 one? SIDfail!)....has faster, smoother gameplay, and for an atari 2600 game, looks great.... I think the Atari2600 one pummels the C64 one.

great...double dragon on c64. I used to spend hours playin it with my bro. in the eighties; we used to put background music on an old analogic cassette player, and played this game listening our preferred music. At a certain point we began to beat each other unless of fightin' the enemies...i must say also that i was, and remain, an heavy admirer of the arcade version too, obviously.

I remember waiting for this game forever when I was a kid. I played the ARCADE version all the time, and then I played the nes version. My mom always tried my computer games out top make sure they worked (C64 games had so many glitches). My mom pretty much told me the game sucked. They had to take the waistes off of teh characters so they could get 2 players in there. This game was soooo fucking bad.

I agree. This game was garbage. But I wouldn't say its the biggest failure. Transformers was pretty shitty. I remember there was a glitch that if you jumped high in a certain angle, the enemies would get stuck. And lets not forget the split down the torso to push these enhanced graphics :)

I had this as a kid. I remember being annoyed that Abobo didn't break through the wall in lvl 1. You can tell they tried to do something there, but gave up and left a glitched out section of wall where he would have been.

Ugh, I remember this too well. Being a huge fan of the arcade at the time and not having a NES until the next year, all I had was my Commodore 64.

Well my parents got me this game for Christmas that year.What a ROTTEN XMAS that was. I actually cried after playing it. My parents were furious because they tried it and it was complete trash. So we took it back the next day, and they got me Last Ninja 2, which made up for it.

The programmers should be ashamed and SHOT for this monstrosity.
